Nice video guys. I’ve climbed Ben Nevis a few times, the most rewarding route to tackle the Ben is definitely the CMD Arête, It’s an experience that lives long in the memory.
I also did this with no training what so ever, on a whim. Came for a holiday in Scotland and me and my brother in law just randomly decided we'll do it, a scorching summers day around 27*, a mile or so in he had enough and decided to go back, I started so said I'm continuing, he took the water and food back so I had nothing apart from the odd scoop of water from the slowing river/waterfall around half way up. I was 22 stone (308lb, 140kg). Took me just over 9 hours up and down, I found down harder and the week after I was floored and struggled to move/walk, but damn was it worth it :D , this was about 3 years ago and I intend to do it again next year with training.
It's a great accomplishment 🤟 very well done 😁 I'm sure it's an adventure you'll never forget 🏔
Bit dramatic lads, my dad “climbed” Ben Nevis with me and he’s 58 and not at all athletic, it’s a tough walk but definitely just a walk. Really great work but let’s not put people off by overstating what it is for personal gain
I wanted to make it dramatic to emphasise it being the tallest mountain in Scotland. Difficulty is also subject to opinion, and for some, this video will illustrate what it is like to "climb" Nevis with no prior training as stated in the title. The only personal gain here is a video that my friends and I can watch when we are old to remember the journey. I am a storyteller, and I tell stories through my own experiences.
And people have the right to call out your exaggerations. Old ladies literally walk their dog to the top in the mornings, it's a footpath with a small grade the whole way.

I've just done it and Im 52 and 125 kg. I was in a class of my own. No old ladies walking up there that day. Judging by your comments you haven't walked it

On one hand, I'm all for making memories and going on adventures with friends, but then you have things like this, pub shoes and 1 liter of water.
It could have easily ended in mountain rescue, as one of you nuggets went down with heatstroke.

Great effort lads. I live nearby Ben Nevis and the fastest I've done it is 3 hrs 42 mins from start to finish, did that in early September last year. I also went up for sunrise just the other week and got some great shots, put a short video on my channel of the footage. If you've never gone up a mountain for sunrise, definitely get it on your bucket list!

Train? What do you need to train for? The only thing I trained for in the sixties was how to read a map and compass, no gps then. Reasonable fitness and off you go. Take food drink and extra clothing,end of.

That’s how people die by assuming climbing a huge mountain is simple work and by belittling those who are extra cautious. Years ago I was sliding down this mountain thinking I was going to die near the summit with all the ice as had no spikes for boots etc. At time I had no idea people had died previously and it’s pure luck you have managed this long since 60s, some won’t be as lucky so really your comment was just about stupid masculinity🤷🏻♀️ end of
I weight 110 Kg, and we with my friend went towards ICC hut and then ascended towards CMT and went through serpentine until we reached summit. It took like 7 hours and in some instances was scary. Still 0 experience just pure determination and we did it. I would find it odd if someone much healthier than me would be whining about difficulty haha

The climb up Ben Nevis is longer than the Matterhorn. I have climbed the Munros of Scotland, and few ascents are more than 3500 feet. Ben Nevis is nearly 4500. To everyone who gets the top, it is an achievement. Well done.

You don't need training - I did it when I was 6.. it's barely even a mountain in global terms.
Ben Nevis is over 3X the qualifying height of being labelled a mountain in global terms. This video also shows that it doesn't require training, but not everybody is the same fitness level. This is a video about my experience.

Well done lads. Bit OTT, but you did it. Perhaps learn to respect the countryside next time. On your camp the night before, you should never have had that fire and scorched the forest earth. Leave no trace. Seemed more equipped for a stroll around Morrisons car park than a trip up the Ben. Good luck in the future, and try the CMD route to the top next time. PS: You guy's may need a guide for that one!

You can do it for sure! The reality is that it's a 3/4 hour walk up hill but I highly recommend it for the bucket list 👍 this year is the year for you I believe it

made the climb years ago with some military mates(UK)we got to the top with no problem but we left too late in the day and the mist can come down quite thick and fast on Ben Nevis, we had to take shelter and come down the next day, let's just say the night was not pleasant at all.

Did it in May for the first time for a charity walk. Took two hrs 40-ish, pushing myself a fair bit and eating on the move. Thought I was doing ok till a guy about my age- 50-ish - strolled past me like he was walking in the park....and later passed me again on his way down. Wouldn't do it again though. Not the most interesting mountain in Scotland and *way* too many people.

Well i did it for first time at 62 a few weeks ago.. took 3hrs 15 to summit and that's despite around a 20 min lunch break on way up..i could have done it under 3hrs if only stopped for water but strict clock watching spoils the experience!! Its a one off so should be savoured

The swearing was vile. What if young children were watching your video? You should always consider your audience. You seemed to feel that the walk up there was an awful lot harder than it is. This video would have been so much better without all the foul language.
