    I bought this machine approx 2 months ago, traded in my VBM Junior of 17 years (got tired of repairing it - thats Cigar unit is expensive and 12 monthly replacements was just too much in the end). I love it, far better machine. Temp control is much improved and its quick heat up time of 20mins is very refreshing. Highly recommend. I make milk drinks but have the temp setting at 2 and boiler priority to brew.

    Actually, the manual says that the temps are 90, 92, 94 C or 194, 198, 202F. So you can definitely play with the darker roasted coffee.

    I have this, its perfect for the majority of home baristas in my opinion. Only con is you need to be mindful of the steam pressure sometimes in brew mode, minor complaint though.

      So you have to go up and then back down again? I thought up was espresso priority and down was steam? It isnt very clear that's for sure.

    4:20 you can't "burn" the coffee with 95c water but you can bring out undesirable tastes. The coffee is already fully roasted and can not be roasted any further by water

    Hey I have a Barista Pro and use Eureka grinder and I make far better coffee then all the coffee shops in town except maybe one, don't know if it's because prep and measure everythingI measure every time, but was looking to up grade my Machine, was looking at Lelit Elizabeth (Lelit is having a sale on there machine) about $359.00 off U.S but of course everyone is out of stock of the Elizabeth and so I've been looking at Mara X $340.00 off sale price $1359.96 (first time I've seen Lelit on sale) but would I gain that much in Temp control and better espresso over my BB Pro , I do between 2 - 4 hot drinks and maybe 2 cold drinks in afternoon all milk based, I do mailk base drinks because it to easy to down straight 2oz espresso for me. which leads to to much caffeine :(

    • @Rydecoffeecoach
      @Rydecoffeecoach  Před 3 měsíci

      I don't want to tell you to get it and then you're disappointed and blame me 😅 but...I think you'll love the MaraX as it's just such a beautiful machine especially in black or white with timber (not sure if that option is the one on sale too). Ultimately, it will improve the quality of your espresso and will last pretty much forever (once the BB pro goes, it's too expensive to repair) and you can do the milk and extractions at the same time which is a nice bonus.
      There might be a small learning curve as you get used to using a prosumer machine but once you've mastered it, I don't think you'd ever look back. If it was the BDB (Breville dual boiler) I don't think you'd notice much difference because the BDB makes such great coffee, but I think they are similar prices in the US and Lelit will last a lot longer!
      I actually had customers go from a BB express (the model before the pro) to a MaraX and they have never looked back.

    We make 2 to 4 milk coffees a day only in the morning but the whole proceed is within 3 hours for different needs of my family. What setting it should be to avoid overheat for the machine / grouphead and in which mode stream or brew so I can get right temp of the brew and correct pressure right after?

    • @Rydecoffeecoach
      @Rydecoffeecoach  Před 5 měsíci

      If they are far enough apart, it may be beneficial to turn your machine off. But generally I find it better to keep the priority switch in the brew mode as this will be better. Also, always flush/purge your group head before you put your packed portafilter in. When you lift the lever up, if the water is boiling you'll see it settle down after a few seconds and then you can extract your coffee.

  • @0xjdion
    @0xjdion Před 4 měsíci +1

    I purchased this machine last month, but I have noticed that after extraction, the coffee continues to drip. This issue is bothering me. Any thoughts?

    • @Rydecoffeecoach
      @Rydecoffeecoach  Před 4 měsíci

      Is it dripping a lot afterwards or just a few drops (which is normal)? If it's dropping continuously and you notice your steam wand dripping too, there might be an issue with the 3 way solenoid.
      Otherwise it could be you're over saturating the puck and the grinds are too fine to let the water through in time which will cause the excess water to build up in the basket and drop through afterwards. Do you notice very sloppy wet pucks?

      @@Rydecoffeecoach I think I have found a solution, if I’m pulling the lever completely down so the water goes to the pressure release valve, it’s working.

      Completely different machines and tough to compare but while I do love the ease of use of the BDB, the MaraX will be way better in the long run and you'll be able to sell it for a decent amount but the BDB will probably fail and you'll get nothing.

    • @barpenam

      Honestly the breville feels like cheap toy compared to a Lelit Mara. Lots of plastic and extremely flimsy portafilters and buttons. Really lightweight too. Perhaps it does the job for you but you really can’t compare the two. Completely different levels. And in the EU they’re the same price so getting the Lelit should be a no-brainer.
