    you are correct the wast gate gets stuck open. this happened to my 2012 cruze i used wd40 to clear away the rust where the shaft goes through the manifold and you do this while the turbo is on the engine then used carb cleaner to wash away the wd40 and solved the problem. The exhaust manifold is cast iron and it gets to hot for lubrication and it will rust there is moisture in the exhaust. Good job My cruze has 218000 miles and i replaced the turbo at about 210000 miles so the turbo will go over 200000.

    You don't have to take the cat out. You can just loosen it and it'll fall far enough to get the turbo out. Saves you from breaking the studs when you try to loosen the cat from the rest of the exhaust.

    I don't understand, how and why is the crack at the waste gate flap normal? Wouldn't it leak some exhaust pressure past the crack and not spool the turbine as much? Ecm is looking at actual pressure and desired pressure so logically actual pressure would be below desired, an under boost condition

    What kinda issues would you face if that actuator was messing up? Can I test it somehow before I buy a new turbo?
    At this time I'm convinced my very old probably stock oil feed line has clogged itself because I just learn those tend to bake under the exhaust manifold; but I won't have the tools to find out for a couple days. Once I check that out if it's clear and I can't find a way to test that actuator then I guess it's turbo time 🤷
    Ain't got the money to buy parts and pay a shop to diagnose and labor it. Don't think the car will make it to a shop for diagnostics without risking further more expensive damage. Just gunna have to rough it on this one and get learnt. Should been fixing my own shit years ago 😅👍🤷

    Was there any noise when the car was turned on because my car makes a really loud noise and as i drive it i have no boost power takes a while to get to a 45 50 miles per hour and i feel like I'm forcing it.. Took it to a mechanic he said it's the turbo that's the code he got but on these turbo videos i been watching on CZcams i don't hear a noise like mine. 😞

    • @HomieHektor
      @HomieHektor  Před 6 lety +1

      Janette Ortiz this one didn't have any noise, but I have worked on some with noise, and that's probably because the turbine came loose. It's a different issue but same fix.
