- I'm amazed at how this gun is so incredibly cheap! I wish I could talk about how few "doll hairs" you have to exchange for this thing, but then I'd get demonetized, get a channel strike, etc. With a little research you can find out about this bargain sporting/home defense/plinking shotgun!
Sportsman’s warehouse has these for $650 and palmetto has them for $199 😂
Sportsman's warehouse is cheaper than dirt jr.
Lol I saw this right as he said they don't like me telling you where to aquire. Sportsman's is a sham and they treated us like real trash during covid and kept the transfers they denied when the state didn't answer in 3 days here in Oregon. I'm not giving them money unless I'm ready to tell everyone I really screwed up and left myself no options or time.
Sportsman's warehouse is a scam 😂
Sportmans Warehouse used to be reasonably priced a few years ago. Then their prices went way up.
Sportsman’s Warehouse, Walmart shit for premium prices.
Just ordered one from PSA prior to seeing this video. It was too cheap to pass up. Good to see a professional opinion of it.
$200 has me laughing hard over here I didn’t believe it
Who else uses Mark Serbu's videos to fall asleep with because his voice is so soothing?
My sleep is all messed up because of medications I take and I have to nap during the day sometimes due to that, but Mark comes through for me every time.
Every video is great and interesting and I love the content, and I love falling to sleep on them because it makes for some pleasant dreams of automatic weapons dancing through my head.
In one of them, Royal Nonesuch was running toward Mark and me across a large green field in slow motion, carrying something of a strange shape and yelling out, "I made a machine gun out of mechanical babies...!"
I really liked that one.
I love how you engineer the s’ht out of stuff and yet holding your phone and fingering this gun is kicking your ass. 😂
Nothing but love brother.
it's not like he can engineer an extra arm on himself
@@cagneybillingsley2165
Not with that attitude
You're just the guy who can help the community of owners out there who are wondering how to make this gun cycle field loads reliably.
They will ROCK AND ROLL! Auto sear tripping surface needs to be lengthened about a 1/4”, the bolt rides quite a bit higher in the upper than standard m4/m16. Needs a tinyyyy little bit shaved off the front of the bolt carrier to clear the sear as the bolt comes back. And then for the bolt I pinned a piece of shaft with a small arm sticking down off of it into the rear of the bolt carrier to trip the auto sear. Gun got registered on a form2 a couple years ago, got just a touch over 22-2300 rounds though it since then! Cycles great full auto with 2.75” buckshot and most 1300fps+ stuff, 3inch shells are kinda iffy, runs some hotter #7 and 8 birdshot on semi auto without the added weight of the sear tripping pin in the bolt carrier, but It LOVES Rio Royal 1345fps 2 3/4” #00 buckshot with the giggle switch on! I can send you pics and videos, I think there’s a few on my Insta ripping up a car door too
Man, this is so neat. I LOVE when you just go "Hey, folks, look at this neat thing!" For the price they're asking - same as a used police trade-in in some places - I'm not sure I want to carry it into battle against the Cardboard Army in serious maneuvers, but I bet it's a REALLY fun range toy.
Police trade ins are almost always barely shot. Most police only shoot their required qualifications which is 100 rounds a year or sometimes every 6 months. That's not much even over a lifetime of policing.
I would love to see how this thing performs with an auto sear in it.
Pretty well, theres videos
I'd rather see it with a Super Safety so that all of us have a chance at some fun.
It won't, ARs are actually a really bad platform for shotguns. Get a traditional rifle-patterned shotgun instead of something built on an AR style frame.
@@Wolfsbane1100why? Feeding?
@@Wolfsbane1100there is a video of the same model with a lightning link ripping through 10rd mags with ease
Saiga 12 did the same wrecking of the hull...when it threw the hulls 15ft away......
You needed a lot of pressure in a Ponsness Warren reloader to get that hull base reformed...
and that only worked with brass bases of course.
The red dot sight (even a cheap one) was a lot of fun with the Saiga when shooting clays.
Learner shooters understood immediately to fire when the red dot was on the clay....and the clay was rising in a straight line away from the shooter.
Couldn't miss.......
and that instilled confidence..
and kept their mind off "the fearsome 12g recoil"....
Oscar and I just bought this shotgun because of your video lol. I ran 100 rounds of Walmart low brass with Zero malfunctions today
Holy crap, you're not kidding it's cheap... I need one now.
the age old saying of "you get what you pay for"...
@@Just_A_Random_Desk Of course you do, its on clearance from over $600 because a new model is out.
They are selling for $199 at PSA
600 is retail
Its garbage lol why do people buy shit like this without doing a smidge of research
@@sheepocalypse3898We just did by watching this video?! 😂
Hi Mark!
Thank you for doing a review on this shotgun. Please do more! I love how you, as a designer and fabricator, analyze the firearm overall and go into the operational mechanics of it.
-God bless
But will it survive James' 500 round test?
(...probably not...)
Impossibru
Had my friends brothers sheer it’s receiver extension threads with 2 3/4 reduced recoil slugs after 200 rounds of birdshot, it’s now an amalgamated blob of aluminum at the bottom of their fire pit
So how did the warranty work out for you?
@@awesomeopossum4632
@@awesomeopossum4632bummer but funny. I. An picture the setting and look on his face as he tossed it in the fire.
Gotta get a burn down going.
I work at my LGS, and we sold a bunch of the JTS M12AK versions (obviously by the name this is the copy of a saiga/AK) and everyone that bought one loved it. And they seem to be built very well. Interesting to see how well built the AR version is, I thought about scooping up one of the ones from PSA.
Those have a 3rd pin hole.
I call it my chicom trash blaster
@@user-tr1mf5qb1i Well shit !!! Now the ATF knows.
I bought one and love it.
They say you should clean it really well before you use it, but mine was spotless, so it didn't need it. Lol
Mine won't cycle, even with 3" slugs, and the front sight post screw in part isn't straight. Started to contact them about replacement and after the first email they stopped responding to me. Probably won't buy anything else from them ever
Thank you Mark for the review.
PSA has them for $199 as of 01-20-2024
That looks fun! And those little cosmetic defects just add to the uniqueness of it.
Got one 2 weeks ago. Not enough videos on CZcams about this! Thanks for the video!
I have the M12AR B1 , hand guard is like the M16 A2 and has the metal front sight w/ adjustable pin, also comes with a adjustable rear sight that attaches on the rail. It functions identical as this model. All the same choke adjust, and screw in choke barrel, chrome lined barrel. Had it for two years, I keep it oiled well, like my old M16 A2 when in the Army. I run 1330 or higher 2 3/4 quality shells. In the break in period, it would miss cycle once in a while, but now that its broke in and well oiled, its a smooth cycling semi auto. Ive run bird, buck, cut shell and several types of slugs through it, handles all well. Like a AR15, keep it oiled good and use quality shells, that is the biggest part of good cycling, those cheap 5.56 for AR15 screw up too in the rifle, it very picky for good ammo. For cheap practice I use winchester fast dove 1350 which cycle well, then from there i increase the FTPS . I trust it for home defense.
I was curious about these, but don't have a good place to be able to enjoy a shotgun like this, that and I'm fortunate enough to have a Gen-12 and Vepr-12 already so I couldn't justify getting one. Thanks for sharing!
Couldn't justify? It's a gun. Justification complete! Achievement unlocked!

Can’t be worried about details when the only distinguishing name on it is Qongjiong. Probably came from the same place the gutter oil came from! 😂
I love the content! I found that I was not a subscriber yet, sooo… these are really cool and I hope I can still find one.
Serbu's insight into R&D is so interesting and inpiring! I've been obsessing over the lever delayed blowbacks lately. The Rudd wedge delay AR is particularly interesting. I believe a Famas style action would be well suited to the AR18 package. I also believe a lever delayed blowback AR18 flipped for a beltfed would make a very reliable SAW. My state is very strict. As an unlicensed amatuer, I have playing with wood blocks just to see what layout is the most promising.
One for the algorithm. Thanks Mark!
Guns good sir thank you, we all appreciate you 😊🎉
I’ve had mine for about 3yrs and I love. Take it apart clean it really good and lube it. Shoots everything
Hey Mark you were wondering about the spring in the buffer, look at KAK Industries' new ar buffer and the info behind it on their website. Very interesting ideas about recoil mitigation and vibration dampening.
Didn’t expect this one! I have a PCP air rifle from JTS. The Airacuda
9:26 They're balloon head bases too, like the oldest cartridges. No machining, it's all formed sheet. I'd be worried about ripping the rims off if the gas was too hot or the dwell time wasn't there.
I would have never considered buying one , but now it’s an option
Neat lookin shotgun! Great vid mark. Thanks
That gray model looks cool.
Man you are my hero Mark. I can’t believe you answered the elephant in the room question
I have to say I love this gun. I bought a Chinese AK rifle in 1999 and still have it and it's never had a malfunction. They are capable of making good reliable firearms in China. This company also has several AK versions of this shotgun. I wish more American companies did things like this. I saw a lot of innovative things on this. I would trust it for home defense after running a few boxes through it. The website does say that it shoots both 2-3/4 in and 3 in shotgun shells. They also have a 10 round magazine for this.
Norinco is the only reputable Chinese brand left. I can't speak on this particular model but I have had several jts ak-t1's and they have all disassembled their gas system permanently before I got 100 rounds through any of them.
@@calebconnors847 Polytech has always been good but I don't know what they are producing now.
I'll let you know if that's true for mine, just ordered one. I've definitely wasted 200$ on dumber sheit@@calebconnors847
Oh good video!!! I just impulse purchased one.
Great to hear from you again Mark. You're always bringing out great stuff. Thanks.
Pretty neat shotty with a ton of features
I neeeed to see this rockin and rollin!
I strongly dislike the AR but I bought one of these at Rural King two years ago for $250 after taxes. It seemed to chew itself up inside at first but runs great now. I’ve had the Ak version for years.
Finally after 20 years They finally made it
JTS also makes a 12 ga AK. From all reviews I've seen, they're pretty good for the price. They don't hardly jam, especially after about 70 or 80 rounds. Fun to shoot. I'm assuming the AR will be about the same.
I believe that spring in the buffer is a dampener for if/when it bottoms out in the buffer tube. Maybe it’s there to limit damage if someone shoots a hot load when the gas port is all the way open. I’d be concerned if it was bottoming consistently though. If it’s slamming into the back of the buffer tube, it could tear the threads out or break the end of the tube.
Funny I just picked mine up today..looks good in this color
The 1 inch rail attached to the barrel is turn the smidge to the right. The barrel is pinned and it cannot be adjusted. So you have to put on your front site on the rail on the shroud.
Really like these kinds of vids 🤍
Cool design especially for the price. My biggest concern would be the lug that the op rod pushes breaking off of the carrier. It looks like a stress riser and would get beaten up by the op rod in no time flat.
Finally a cool looking ar 12 gauge
Awesome!
Thanks dude..
Pretty Cool video Bro I kinda like it !
I have the AK version and have never had a problem. I think it's a awesome weapon.
Great video
Awrsome I have the JTS M12 AK and I love it.😊
Great video Mark. And like yourself. Not everything from China is junk.
I just hate giving them money to gear up against us. Same with 511, even though I hear they make sure the workers are treated nice over in Vietnam. I like Vietnamese and Chinese people, but man their govs just don't like em as much as I do and I don't wanna help them out.

Hey, Mark, can you do a follow-up video of you firin' this beast with flight-control buckshot and slugs?
I was wondering how/if it would handle magnum loads.
Same here. Accordin' to ads it can load 3" cartridge shells, but how does it perform? Hmmm... It would look cool with an optic and a hush can at the end of the barrel :D@@ryanjones4917
I bought 3 from PSA 200.00 each. 2 grays 1 black. I was very impressed with the reliability. Even ate the bird shot on 3rd setting.
2:44 got to like that transition! 👍😄
Was eyeballing these the other day. I think I'll try and score one if I ever have any money 😂
This is on my WISH list. jk. Looks really cool for the price of a few Doll Hairs more.
I'm not a shotgun guy, but I'd own one of these if I didn't live in WA!! Looks awesome.
I’m not an AR guy but but this anyway for the same reason.
I mean for the price. That is normally the price of a pump action so worth it just to see if the thing works. You got the cool color I can not find anymore.
Saw these on sale before Xmas, and it took all the willpower that I possessed not to grab one for the price they were advertised at, even though I think I may have brought my shotgun out one time last year to shoot a couple rounds of skeet, then put it back in the safe. Would be a nice shotgun to have sitting next to my recliner, to compliment the Glock 17 I have in the armrest! Always wondered about how well they would function at that price.
I think it's funny they used the Ming font for the engraved lettering. It's one of those things that just pops out at you after a while, smacks you in the face, and screams "China!".
i built a bunch of ar's back in 2016 for the same price. crazy how cheap some stuff can be
I modified mine to take a nornal ar 16 buffer tube and i cut fown the barrel to like 12.5 inches and sbsed it. Runes slugs and buck fine but bird shot almost functions
thats really cool
Good stuff
If that lower receiver works with a dpms 308, than it would be worth having. outside of that. I like how its made, or at least the principal of how its made and how the handguard mount.✌
I like it!
There actually are serrations on the bolt... I guess that forward assist isn't just for looks?🤔
Can confirm, it works
It's there so you can make your jams worse just like on an AR
@@InsanePacoTacolmao, they don't know until they know. Can't stomp on it like an ak.
That is pretty cool
Still not as much fun as a Korean Daewoo USAS12 on fun mode
Great stuff Mark very cool! Would love to see how it handels some high brass! Have you made any shotguns?
Can you make it full auto please? Always was interested how fast an AR type of shotgun would be in full auto.
Speed area lead dispenser 2000
that is pretty cool
I just wanted to give an update on my previous post. I actually purchased one of these and got it today, I tore it all the way down and put it back together. From that inspection I found none of the previous issues with sharp edges that cut up the hulls of the shot shells to be present, so they have fixed those issues. I then went and shot it... It absolutely jams on nearly every shot IF you use bird loads, on the other hand 00 buck shot ran without any problems, so the buffer spring is way overpowered, and this is not you gun if you are looking for a birding shotgun. I am looking to see if I can find a lighter spring that will work for bird loads to train and plink with.
The only true problem I had with the gun is that the U shaped reinforcement lips that are on the two provided magazines are over sized, and caused one of them to jam in the gun... The first one I just had to remove the phosphate finish to get it to work properly, the second one I had to file quite a bit to get it to work. Neither of them will drop from the gun but have to be pulled out, but it is now easy to pull them out.
So, if you are hoping to get a semi-auto Benelli level shotgun for $220, you will be sadly disappointed, but if you accept that you are getting a Chinese made piece of equipment that will take maybe 20 minutes worth of work to get it to run quite well, then this is the gun for you.
Thank you Mr. Serbu for your advice on this gun, well worth the purchase for me. As a side note, yes I am a trained gun smith, so even if it would have had bigger issues I could have gotten the gun to run eventually.
I’d love to see a video of this beast going full auto.
Thanks for your opinion of this 12 ga AR
Looks like those dents come from the base of the shell hitting the back of the ejection port.
Mark can you say if the mag release is standard compared to a normal AR in terms of dimensions?
You gotta get a crossover with James Reeves and his famous shotgun burn downs. Hes only ever done Turkish shotties, time for this Chinese one.
I built a 10" SBS off one of these with a collapsible stock. I trimmed a standard buffer and spring down to make it work but I can't get it to run with anything but buckshot.
I mean a 12g fits in a ar magwell, probably only need to make it a little bigger
Man I got excited, thought you were making your own ar12.
I bought the ak version. It was $250. Its the most fun ive had on the range in a while. Lol
I'd like to know what the metal quality is like of the critical components. I got the AK version for $250 and it ran great. Front trunnion looks cast though so doesn't inspire confidence for longevity. I would love to hear from anyone with a high round count through it.
Amazing they let these in..
Nice
There is a PCP air rifle also branded JTS. I doubt they are related though. I could be wrong.
hard to believe this comes with an adjustable gas block and spring loaded buffer for the price. some areas seem a bit rough and cheap but overall if it functions without feeling like its going to fall apart then i dont see the downsides here!
Thank you Mark this was a very informative and enjoyable video what is the cost of this weapon thanks for sharing this with us six stars brother
Palmetto State Armory currently has them at $199.
Really debating on getting one but I'm not quite sure!
Sick
I wonder what the Rockwell hardness is of the bolt and bolt carrier.
If you would check that because I am curious as to how hard the metal is.
It's not hardened.
I hope you see this!
Just have a quick question:
Which position marks the dial setting?
Is it the “12 o clock”???
I can’t seem to figure it out.
Thanks in advance!
Just needs a endless mag and a fun selection.
Id like to onow if it could take ar10 uppers. Couple be a cheap way of getting an entry level large frame.
200 DOLLARS? I need one!
Imagine this with a double stacked mag 🎉
Wish had that or the siaga 12 version
Something thats always bothered me about AR style shotguns is most of them having a side charging handle. This one having the traditional handle makes it look great
