dyeing my hair red again (but this time i hate it)

- hate is a strong word & that's why i used it ❣️
but it's been about a week now since i initially dyed my hair and it's lightened up a bit- which made it look a little more vibrant and made me feel a little less violent every time i look in a mirror! yay!
i still don't love it, but i'm okay with it for now and i've got some time to concoct a game plan for when i decide to dye it again. maybe i can gaslight myself into liking this color before then! not that that would stop me from changing it, but it could be a fun experiment.
i did learn a valuable lesson here: you can't use a totally different hair dye and skip bleaching your hair and expect the outcome to miraculously look like it did the first time when you did do those things.... who would've thought! life is so crazy.
i missed dyeing my hair these last 6 months, so this was great to get out of my system. thanks for hanging out for the process! see u next week ☻

Hello :) I just used red permanent dye as well, except now mine is super bright orange haha. It's cute though. But it was also showing on the box that it was red red.

Also on the water thing. Ive heard and tried pink Himalayan salt added to water actually helps with absorbing the water.... only just a pinch and it helps ALOT

I feel ya I once had that exact shade of red and hated it so much so crazy me dyed over it with copper oddly enough liked the coppery red it turned. My problem is I get bored with red so fast love your haircut

oh nooo! maybe try color oops dye remover if you haven't already- and if that doesn't work, maybe layer the red with a green-based black to cancel out the reds :o) it's definitely tricky to remove but i'm wishing you the best of luck!! 💚
L'Oreal Hi Color will give you a super bright red without bleaching!

That color without bleaching is possible, loreal hicolor hilights is super high lift- I think the color Red hot should do it!

Instead of bleaching, try Color Oops. It will strip it down to your previous bleach and give you a light enough base without damaging your hair. I do this all the time. I have a video where I do this if you want to look at it. It gets very light orange yellow, perfect for a red dye to go over the top. It's very gentle on your hair but it smells SO BAD just a warning 😅
Ive only been able to dye my hair 2 times since getting a perm and that was a month after i got my perm. I know your color set dark,but washing will definitely lighten it... reds dont hold very well no matter how much you want it lol
i’ll definitely hold out on dyeing or bleaching for a couple months before and after perming when that time comes! and i’ve washed my hair twice since filming this video and maybe 60% of the color is left…. for better or worse 🤠
Also with a perm, you cannot dye your hair for several weeks. Something i found out out from my experience.... which sucks bc i have recurring grays 😮

Try Splat no-bleach dye in midnight ruby.
Ofcoz u had to use 30 developer, 20 is used for blonde or to cover greys

I actually love the color and the cut HAH. Makes your eyes pop and it’s a sun color without being too bright. I think a little mullet look would look really great on you if you grew it out a little more 😆
i’ve had some cuts very similar to a mullet and would love to go back to them or go full mullet! i’ve gotta figure out the blueprint and we’ll circle back to it one day 😌

Yyyup. Tried to use this same color to get to the red in my profile pic here. Did not work. Got to a slightly redder burgundy than you. I plan to use the same color again to get back to scarlet hair. It is so missed but I remember it nuking my hair and causing a lot of breakage 😅 #yolohair

Do not perm your hair. You can only perm virgin hair. If it has been color treated AT ALL it will turn into straw. And no amount of deep conditioning will bring it back to life. It happened to me. Please don't.....just don't. I thought it would be fine. My hairdresser said it would be fine. It was a nightmare.
