dude when i listened to candy originally i bawled my eyes out, i usually pay attention to the lyrics when i listen to a song, and those lyrics coming from mgk especially really hit hard, people these days paint drugs as this amazing thing and yeah sometimes they can be “cool” or “fun” in moderation but when someone’s clearly struggling you need to help them...this album truly was moving... i grew up in a situation similar to colson when it came to my mom and listening to this album truly changed me

I can definitely hear it in the songs he's been putting out. Been hearing it for years. But I think now the Hotel Diablo album, the album itself is screaming the emotions out more louder than before. So I think MGK's right. People are gonna hear what he's saying THIS time around loud and clear if they didn't hear it before. And when he was talking about Candy, I can feel the sadness in the song and I think when some people hear that song, they cope. Like, it's a sad song but in the way it's made, like, it sounds like it's made for people to cope with it by just listening to that song.
