    I find these videos very informative. John your patience and professionalism is greatly appreciated. The k owledge you are providing is valuable to alot of us that can't afford to pay the high cost of mechanics. Would love to see full maintenance, trouble shooting and rebuilds of all major 4 wheel atv brands. Plus your opponion of the better quality and unreliability of those top brands. I'm looking to buy one and I would like an independent walk through of the 4 wheel atv's( polaris, yamaha, honda and suzuki, ect..). No paid spokesmen. Just an honest to goodness assessment. Thanks. I need help diagnosing the rear brake issue on my 2015 Honda Rubicon FA7 DLX. The caliper piston pushes out when I pump the brake, but it won't go back in unless I take the caliper off and screw it back in. I there air in the system? Is the spring in the master cylinder broke? Is there something wrong with the caliper?
    Other info you may need: There are no leaks anywhere. There is approx 6,000 km on the machine. The brake pads are close to the end of their life.
    Oh, and BTW, this video was AWESOME! It explained a lot, but I'm still stumped.

      @quaddingsous Před 3 lety

      @@111whereru Thanks for your response Mike, but that wasn't it. The rear pads were worn down enough that it was affecting the entire system. I rebuilt the rear master cylinder, took the calipers apart, cleaned the piston, flushed the lines and in the end, it was the pads - 🙄. Oddly enough, the pad life marker lines on the caliper told me I still had life in the pads, but they were looking a little thin so for $30 I should have started there - DOH - lol - lesson learned.

    Would it hurt the machine to use a standard car brake fluid ?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  Před 8 lety +1

      +Cody Brewer DOT is a standard of measurement that sets the specifications for fluids. As long as it's a DOT-4, it will work. You will need to pay attention to the boiling point as this varies from each manufacturer. The dry boiling point for the Honda DOT-4 fluid is 490 degrees F.

    • @forwarddrive4066
      @forwarddrive4066 Před 6 lety +1

      Cody Brewer
      No, I dont think it would hurt it unless you're constantly using your brakes.
      Any DOT 3 SYNTHETIC should be ok.

    @danellsworth5872 Před 6 lety

    I had to bleed my brakes on a 02 polaris trailblazer and I didnt the same thing your doing but nothing came out of the bleeder valve so i stuck a hex key in to see if it waa clogged and its closed. You cant push nothing thru it but once i open the bleeder valve up only way brake fluid will come out is if i pump the brakes first time working on the brakes on my machine and its irritating

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  Před 6 lety

      I think I missed something. The only time fluid comes out is when the valve is open and you pump the brake. That's exactly how you bleed a brake system. Close valve, pump 3 times and hold pressure, then release valve, let a little out and close valve. Continue.

  • @dsrider185
    @dsrider185 Před 6 lety

    Sir,
    Were you able to successfully purge all air from the line the way its normally routed? On mine there's a high spot in the line right before the caliper where some stubborn bubbles can hide. May be necessary to un-bolt the brake line brackets from swingarm to get a straight run from the caliper to the master.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  Před 6 lety

      Normally it will purge. If you get some that are stuck, you can always reroute the cable to eliminate the high spot temporarily.

    Hi everybody can you please give me some suggestions on how to verify with videotape and a go pro hero 4 silver my 1299S when it intermittently and randomly and unexpectedly stalls out? Every time i take it to the dealer they said they can't duplicate the problem and Ducati of North America video taped my bike with no problems. But my 1299s still stalls out on me in congested stop in go traffic all the time and when I feather the clutch and drive between 0 to 15 mph on the street or freeway or on the street.However I'm an amateur and I just purchased a hero 4 go pro silver camera do you have suggestions on how to mount it to the 1299S gas tank ? I'm concerned with losing the camera what type a suction mount the go pro hero 4 camera? What I should use and what can I use in case the suction loses its grip to keep the camera from damaging the motorcycle and the camera in case it falls thanks advance for everything. The dealer said prove the 1299s is stalling out with video verification because they claim everything is checking out A ok on the computer test sheet with Ducati engineers and Ducati video tape that they won't show me What would you do? Thanks in advance for everything.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  Před 5 lety

      By not hooked up, I assume you mean you are moving it with your hand and it's not attached to the crank? Then yes, you most likely aren't sliding it perfectly straight, so it will stick.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  Před 7 lety

      It takes a long time to bleed the system after this procedure. If your fluid is not moving in the reservoir as you bleed, then you are most likely going to have to pull it all apart again and make sure the master cylinder is put together correctly. Also, make sure nothing got torn or cracked when you installed it. If everything looks good, reinstall and try it again. It can be frustrating, but usually, it's something simple.
