I heard Lea sing as Eponine in 1987 at the auditorium theatre Chicago, and it changed my life. It began a life of love for the theatre and now my daughter has played a part in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor at the paramount theatre. Thank you Lea for taking my path to this direction.

Squiggle1212 IT'S TRUE. It's not about the high notes nor the fame but the musicality and STRENGTH of the voice. Musicality means, if you're on key everytime while expressing the emotions of the song. Emotions, yes, most Filipino singers have that but some are not consistent with their intonation. And Strength my dear is something that I don't think most singers have even in the Philippines. Let those proclaimed divas perform 8 emotional songs on stage for about 7-14 times a week in atleast 2 consiecutive months with the lyrics being switched everyday and tell me who can do it without retakes? Lea can, she's still doing it. She almost lost her voice but was able manage it eventually.

I played Eponine's understudy in our play here. Which for me being 17 and the other cast members being 25, it was an honor. And this song, On My Own, has became my anthem. It will never get old. :)

This story of Ms Saigon actually happened also in real life of a Filipina,, and i know Ms Leah gave her best since she is familiar with this kind of story.
Her IQ is beyond compare. You cannot be singing a song in a play without understanding emotion and delivery. English proficiency and familiarity helps her and her talent completed the whole package. SHE IS LEAH SALONGA, no one can be like her. I am thankful for carrying the whole country and not just the flag.
