This video was right up my alley.
I see journals on CZcams that must have cost an absolute fortune & honestly they’re all starting to look the same.
If you like this kind of video (and thanks for the feedback, I sometimes feel like I'm a bit out on a limb) you might enjoy my latest video....also a bit "different", about using what we have.... Decorate a Journal without Spending Money. Maybe you've seen it.... ignore me if you have 😁😁 Thanks so very much for your fabulous support....it does mean a lot to me ❤️💜🌿🍄
Yes and AMEN. Simple and easy to make it all happen! I love it! Your methods and models are perfect.. I make things for my self and I do write in them and embellish along the way. The travelers Note book size I think is quite perfect.
Those are awesome TN style of junk journals. Thank you for sharing your lovely woodlands, wildflowers, outdoors style just amazing 🤩.
Oooh thanks. I might have a go at another like this then!! 💜💜😁👍
Howdy, Joei!
Gratitude for working with the Argentine Map. Nice way to organise the stash, too. Enjoylable time.
Blessings and Happy new week.
Hello again Gladilyn... lovely to see you here again 😁 Yes I enjoy using pretty maps in my journals. Hope you are well...hugs, joie 🌿💜

* That was fast, Joie. Thanks for writing back. Apologies for my misspellings, too.

So many wonderful ideas! Can’t wait to get crafting and put them to use. So very glad I found your channel! TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe!
It's an older video but it sounds like you enjoyed it....I'm really pleased and very happy to see you again Evelyn ❣️😊
I have learned a lot of this from you. Some of the crafters I am subbie to give free digital pages to us. I'm going to use them for pockets and so. Thanks for sharing this and the instructions and inspiration. 👍🤗🧡
Between your beautiful setting to your voice I am hooked to your channel. You help me relax after a long day 🙏🏼🙌🏼❤️God bless you
Thank you Joie! Super Tutorial
Lovely to see you here Nettie, thanks for watching and sharing your comment! Joie 🌿😀
I know this is an older video but such a great one! I think for me, the draw of a junk journal is the ability to be so creative. I think they will make amazing gifts for family and friends... Gives them the handmade detail that shows how you thought of them while making it. I keep saying, thank you for the great ideas but they all are. Your channel has become my favorite way to get inspired but also to relax. I hope your weekend is going well. *I'm very sick but as I said, I find your videos very relaxing. 🌞🦋🦚
I hope you get better soon Julie. Thanks so much for your lovely comment 💞
I like the small easy journals. You are clever at making them look cute and simple.. love them. Thank you for your time
Thanks again Pat!!💜💜
Love your work ! Such an inspiration!
How lovely is that Vera!! Thanks very much for your kind words...I really appreciate it 🥰 joie 🌿💜
Joie - it is such a joy to watch your videos! You are a true artist - and you have a heart to sharing your enthusiasm and your knowledge. Thanks so much for your generous sharing!

Hello Joelyne! Thanks very much. 🥰
As fall is coming this is something I really need I have so much papers and what not I feel as tho I am drowning this just could be my lifesaver thanks for sharing and many hugs from Ohio, USA
....I know exactly what you mean.....drowning in it.... lots of videos coming up with ideas for using it up!! Happy Wednesday Christine. Thanks for popping by to watch 😊💜🍄👍🏻
Another comment for this video. Joie, if you weren't so amazingly creative, I might get more done! I am so taken in by your junk journal techniques, my head is spinning. I am going to have a quick tidy up of my crafting space and put together a journal this afternoon. (Feb 2,2020) Your speaking voice is calming which makes your videos so easy to watch. Thanks again. xo
Awww that's fantastic. I've been playing in my craft room as well today... It's now completely messed up, oh well, never mind 😁😁😁
This was fabulous
Thanks very much!! Joie ❣️🌿
Lots of great ideas for junk journals! Love all the pockets💕 Thx for sharing 😉
Ooh thanks Patricia!!🥰👍
Love your channel and the way you explain everything so simply. I am working my way through your old videos. Thank you for sharing your ideas and inspiring people to think they could also have a youtube channel . Kim x
Aww thanks so much Kim, I really appreciate that!!💜💜
I love the purple and lilac/lavender colors. They are my favorite. This flip through is wonderful. I’ve attempted 3 journals now. I definitely need practice more but so far am loving the process of finding old envelopes and pages to use. Thank you.
Oh Teresa, it's such a satisfying process too, finding paper and book pages and envelopes to use, then creating something really special and personal with it. Lovely to see you here, thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment. Joie 💜🌿
You just gave me a great idea! I have these swatches of fabric that I had stapled together onto a piece of paper because I used them when I went shopping for the type of colour which I needed to match an artistic dress design I was working on. I really loved the purple and violet colours, sheers and satins, and some with fancy embroidery and some sequins on them. All swatches. I'm going to make a Jung Journal and put that into it, and decorate the pages with some glitter glue, and use those fancy scissors I got from my sister when she passed away, and hadn't even used them but they're in my makeup tool case. Hey, maybe I'll take some photographs of us when we were all together and that way I could open my Jung Journal and see the family that ain't around anymore, but still, with me. Haha. Great ideas. I really like your intellectual and intelligent style of putting these art pieces together. Very nice. Helpful. Thank you.
Sounds like a great project, thanks so much for your kind words!! Joie ❣️🌿
What an amazing gift you have, in the way you teach us, the beautiful art of junk journaling! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your talent.
You're very welcome Linda. Plenty more videos on my channel too.... take care, joie 🌿💜
you are so creative!
I try Carol, and it's really nice of you to say so, but I am simply learning and enjoying this journey together with others. Hope to see you again soon, Joie ❣️🌿😀
enjoyed watching, great inspiration
That's lovely to hear Patchouli Girl:) I'm guessing that you like paper and journals? Joie xx
Yes I have half dozen journals on the go lol now working in art journal, just a newbie but enjoy so much...weather is freezing here in Alberta so it's keeping me busy inside...I have a fairly big stash so instead of buying, I am determined to use some of it.
Joie I just adore your videos so much! From the way you present yourself, the way you record, the way you edit. I can see so much time, effort, and passion goes into your channel. Well done! You are amazing 💖💖
That's really good to hear Amy..... you're right about it taking time. As you know from your art channel, there's quite a lot that goes on as prep behind the scenes. I really like your voice overs. I'll be asking for advice soon if that's okay? Thanks for watching. Joie 🌿❣️😀

Oooh thank you!! this is quite an old video too 😁😁😁👍❤️💜
Love them ALL, but the blue and yellow is my favorite! We have so much to use as trash to treasure that I love making the journals! TFS!
We definitely do have a lot to turn from trash to treasure. Sounds like you are also a Junk Journal Addict 😁🌿❣️ joie
Thank you for this video! I have hit a brick wall with my journals. I watch sooo many journaling videos and everyone has all the fancy tools and printed downloads. I do not have any of these things, but I do have bunches of books and Walmart pattern paper. I am going off to create one of these perfect journals today!! Thank you...again!
That sounds very exciting!! I totally know what you mean about all the fancy tools and other items. I guess I like to create with a modest budget; and as you can see we can still have a lot of fun 🥰 Keep me posted Cari !! Joie 💜🌿
Joie, I have only recently found your videos, and I've only recently started making journals, but I have to tell you that I really appreciate them. they are informal and fun and relaxing, but they are also well-organized and concise, so I don't get impatient with the length and think I'm wasting time with chit-chat that's no longer current. Friendly, informative, efficient! You're absolutely everything I could want!
You're lovely, you just made my day! 😁❣️❣️❣️❣️
Don't cry for me... Argentina!!

Exactly 😀❣️🥰
i loved it
Love the size of this journal and the bow on the top. I don't erite in a journal but I give them to friends. I don't have that manys because I use all of them. My favorite videos are about how to use up scraps. Love your style!
It's a lovely gift, a handmade Journal. ❣️ Thanks so much for popping by to watch, and taking the time to leave such a kind comment. Joie 🌿❣️😀
Looking very good x
Thanks Mark!!!
Ooh another great video! I love that you make creating journals so accessible and share your wonderful journals, your process for making them and about how you use them.
I’m curious as to if you have any routine about when and where you work on and in your journals, how long at a time and if you prefer to work on your own or with friends/podcasts/Netflix/music/the cat.
Thank you Joie 😍
What great questions! Let me have a go at answering😄...and it's great to see you here again Princess Pippa! I have specific days of the week that offer the chance of me playing in my craft room....and hence making and decorating my journals. I take a moment at the beginning and/or end of day to do morning pages...though if I can't do it I miss a day and try again the next day. I write in my Junk Journals at any possible moment. A sentence, a page, whatever works. It's always been on my own. And for me, without music, maybe in the garden if the weather allows.. peaceful ❣️ 🌿 Joie xx
Oh my Joie My friend! I'm so happy you have done this today!! I have been working on " Crafting some stash" For all kinds of crafts with what I have! You are so inspiring and just a beautiful woman! Hi Joie, I am Ashwini!I like watching your videos and I like recycle and repurpose too..Your videos are very informative,Thanks for sharing..
I am curious about the “peg” or the decorated green clothes pin(?) (refer @10:52 minutes in the video ,
Where did you get it or since we like recycling, the question should be “how can we make it with the ones we already have”:),Could you please tell me,Thanks a lot!
Hello Ashwini G 😁 it's lovely to meet you!! Great to hear that you enjoyed this video. That peg...it was actually part of a present from a friend. So I'm afraid I'm not able to say any more about where it came from. It sounds like you are having a lot of fun with your papercraft. Keep it up!! Hope to see you here again soon 😀 Joie 🌿❣️

Hi I am new
Please reply to this
Great to be able to welcome you to my channel, welcome to this happy place, for people who love paper! 😄❤️
Thank you so much for explaining your process. Also, I don’t have many supplies, but this seems “doable”
Thank you, and I'm really pleased to hear that. Hoping to make junk journaling a bit more"doable" and accessible for us all. Take care, joie 🌿❣️😀
Cheryl Fitzpatrick free and low cost stuff for junk journals is everywhere. I got a beautiful full color ad booklet in the mail one day, I immediately call my friends in my neighborhood and ask for them if they aren’t using theirs if they could save it for me and they all did! Plus when I eat out I look for fun stuff like paper placemat, bags, deli paper. I’m never ashamed to ask my server if I could have an extra one for a project. And in a pinch I once used dental floss to sew a signature of a small book lol.
Go Lynne!! Leading from the front...I love it!!
joie de fi it kills me that crafting might not be accessible to everyone who wishes to do so. I love how you’re showing folks you don’t have to have a ton of cash to make a lovely journal.
Just found you and this is video number that I've watched. I love what you do. So far I have saved the 3 videos. You tweezers look pointy. Where did you get them. And the needle for sewing the book what kind and where do I get it.? I have never made my own. But after watching your work I cant wait to make the journal, pockets, and envelopes. I am very excited. Thank you
I am delighted to hear your excitement coming through!!!! Let me try my best to answer your questions...the tweezers are cosmetic tweezers just from my local supermarket. The needle I inherited from my Mum so I'm sorry I'm not able to tell you much more. It's a darning needle if that helps. You must have a go, and definitely keep me posted on your progress!!! Take care and have fun! Joie 🌿❣️😀
This was great joie, couldn't be around to watch premier, sorry for that, but this was great. I agree with recycling sometimes it's better, big like from me my friend 👍 ❤️ hug's 😁 💜
No problem my friend...it's just lovely to see you here:) You are doing great on your streams. I think your style works well, nice and friendly and chatty, very real....crack on, as you say:) joie xxx
@@joiedefi heheh lol, crack on 😂😂😂
My problem is im obsessed with junk journaling but cant afford to buy all kinds of pretty papers. I can only get a few at a time and a couple embellishments. I dont have a way to download and print all these beautiful digitals which i think would deff be a cheaper way to get. Enough paper to create a gorgeous journal on my own with all the flips tricks and tucks my heart desires lol
It sounds like you have enough to have fun and make a Journal. I started with a pair of scissors and a few bits of paper. I manage the budget so I totally understand the need to get a lot from a little...value is important, especially now 😁 I'm thinking of doing another video like this, around money saving ideas.....so do let me know any of your suggestions. Keen to learn 😁👍🏻💜
Well i eat alot of cereal so sometimes ill cut up the cereal boxes to use for tags or the box my coffee pods come in. to get rid of the shiny part so i can glue things on that side i mod podge some tissue paper onto it (which i saved from packages i got or gifts). I actually made a cover with that technique with the cereal box and once the tissue paper dries you can sponge on 2 colors of acrylic paint for a prettu effect i did brown and aqua with specks of white. It almost feels like leather when its dry and its really really strong!
ill also use my junk mail envelopes (which is a.popular idea ive seen) but i use up my scraps and do collages. I find that when i use my papers for collages they go so0o much farther.
Wow!! That's amazing. Thanks for sharing your brilliant ideas and passion!!
Very informative! You have such an eye for color and dimension. 1 question... if you have more than 1 signature, how do you attach it to the binder? See? I'm very new at this! 😕 Tfs!
I give the spine a bit of width and just sew another signature in next to the first one. Works for a small number of signatures. 👍🏻💜😁
I love it 🌹 Hugs from Spain, where you from?🐾
That's great Pauline, lovely to see you here. I am based in England, in the north of the country. I know some parts of Spain... I have been to Cordoba. That was very pretty, and very hot!!! Hope to see you again, take care, joie xx
Love your vids really great ideas, although mine never look as good as yours. I don’t have a lot of stash -so that’s why I have a hard time figuring out what to use. How many pages do you recommend in these journals? Also what size do you like to work with on these?
Hi Dylan... thanks so much for your questions 😁 I tend to put about 12 sheets in a signature...and I often just keep to one signature. Although I like a lot of fold outs for interest. The size is
around 21 cm by 13cm...it varies a little....keep me posted on your progress!! Keen to hear how you get on. Joie 💜🌿
joie de fi thanks for answering . The problem I have the most is after I get it assembled- decorating it. I hate white or blank writing pages. I get them done and I don’t know what to do with the blank journals. Loved your pocket vids and following when you decorate (like when you draw and paint the cactus and flowers) Really enjoy your channel -it’s good for us “scrap challenged” people! Yours look so good after you put them together. Somehow mine still look like scraps, even the dog even shakes his head!
💜🤗🤗🤗💜
Beautiful voice and great video. I needed those motivation.......going to get back to junk journaling! Thank you!!!!
Thank you!! Great to hear that your motivation is there , ready to have some fun and enjoy yourself. Joie 🌿❣️😀
You’re a brilliant teacher. Great videos. Would you consider not having background music?
It's a very valid point. In my earlier videos I got it wrong and the music was definitely too loud. I've toned it down a lot... sometimes in parts (tomorrow's video) I have none. I hope I've improved things. I was a complete beginner just trying my best. Thanks for helping me with useful feedback, I appreciate it Julie. And your other kind words of support. ❤️❤️😁👍🏻
joie de fi you’re welcome! My very favourite you tubers have no music. Your videos and creativity is amazing xx
What kind of sewing needle do you use? I have some yarn darners, will those be strong enough?
Hi Katerina, I'm using an old darning needle bequeathed to me from my Mum's sewing box. It's fairly sturdy, but definitely strong enough for a signature with around 12 papers. 😁🌿💜
@@joiedefi Thank you! I tried sewing about 7 pages with a darning needle and it worked. Thanks!
It is difficult to make the pages straight but now they are just bumpy on the top And i am making Them for some people who work at the commision
Thank you for that Jadwiga. joie xxx
