You are so dang clever!!
Well maybe not clever, paperly self indulgent at times perhaps 🤭 Always a pleasure to see you Shannon, an awesome inspiration since I first saw you sew little journal signatures many moons ago. International journalism has a new meaning...take care, hugs, joie 💜🌿🍄
You do really good tutorials Joie, I don't get bogged down with what terminology should be used to describe different types of junk journaling. After all, we come together from all over the world to share this wonderful craft and our everyday speech can have vastly different meanings from country to country. 🥰❤️
Thank you!💜
I love the natural color of the cardboard/cereal box. I can see so many different ephemera pieces from one old box that would normally be thrown away. I'd glue old book pages at the back if I was to use the snippet decorated ephemera as a tag.
It's always a good day when there is a new video from you :-) I always appreciate the way you encourage everyone to be creative and show how even scribbles work in the end.
Using what we already have is something we all should do! That simple click and add to cart is just a bit too easy! *sigh
I have not actually made snippet rolls but I think it would be fun for gift wrapping, especially if the snippets are busy and the wrapping is brown paper. Although you may have to stomach things being torn and tossed into the trash!
Tammy Brackett is a master at using junk mail and packaging to be creative. Her channel is fun, too.
I am currently using the ridiculous amount of political junk mail here in the USA to paper punch shapes for my English Paper Piecing!
Thanks for all you do!
Awesome ideas, especially the gift wrapping and political papers being put to good use 😊❣️❣️❣️
Back to basics! Returning to the roots of real crafting...affordable pretties.
👍🏻😁💜
When you use a sequin, consider adding a French knot or a bead to cover the hole. A French knot would make it appear to be sewn on. 😁 Even tiny loops of thread poking through the hole looks awesome. 👍
😁😁👍👍💜
I've been using boxes too
I've made tags and pockets using them. It's always good to review videos we have seen before
CZcams shows a lot ..one right after another, so we can watch and then let you know when we've seen them. August 20..2023
Love the Kraft coloured cardboard so I usually leave it unpainted. I love using cereal boxes. Great ideas, thank you for sharing.
You're welcome 💜
This is so fun! I want to make a floral version of these :) Or maybe a butterfly one. That would be so cute! Thank you for sharing all of these awesome ideas! ⚘
My pleasure!!
Super cute with multi uses and you could even add buttons! Thank you for sharing.
Oooh what a good idea!! 😁🍄🌿
Oh Joie I didn't want the video to end! What fabulous ideas. I cannot wait to go through my stuff. I love how you take random bits and pieces and make them all cohesive. Tfs Hugs
Aww thanks Donna ❣️
I don't know you but I can feel your positive energy. I'm amazed by your ideas in every artwork you made.
Send love from another side of the world. 💗
... sending hugs back to you too!!😁💜💜💜
Thanks for a great tutorial. I use mostly recycled card stock and cereal boxes plus packaging. When I have a shiny picture or graphics I find it's useful to gently sand it gives the material a bit of tooth and makes it easier to paint or glue on. Hope this is helpful. Love Muriel. Greetings from Australia
Great tips, thanks Muriel!! 😊👍🏻❤️
I have made snippets before but mainly with clothe. I am defintely going to try this. I can see it helping to decrease my scrap piles!! Thank you for sharing!
That was definitely my motivation too, decreasing scrap piles. Plus this one is a lot of fun! 😊💖💖💖
I am new at this and am committed to not buying anything I don't have to. Part because of budget, but also for environmental commitment. Thank you so much. I am also a watercolor artist and now have a memory problem and find it frustrating, so this satisfies my need to create. Bless you for what you share with us.
You're very welcome, and I love your environmental reason for not buying too much 😁💜
Thank you! I have never made a snippet roll, but I will now! I can’t wait to try this!
It's one of my most fun projects Carolyn.....I hope you enjoy yourself!!!! 😁👍🏻💜
This would lend itself handily to a Christmas journal if holiday bits were used. The leaves reminded me of holly leaves. Nice video, thanks!
Such a great idea!!!
I have to say I love your videos. You are very resourceful. Your voice gives me a warm and a calming effect. I can listen to u talk all day. I have started my first junk journal. I absolutely love doing it. I used all your tips and tricks. I will send pictures of the projects that YOU inspired me to create.
That sounds fantastic Michelle, I'm so pleased that you are having so much fun!! Welcome on board 😅💜👍
I would love to see your version of a Christmas snippet strip. I love your tutorials. 💜🐞
I do need to do that one 🤗💜👍
Love this idea. Will definitely be trying this but first I have to have a bing watching session on all your other videos as only just found you. I'm in UK so not venturing far from my craft room at present. So recliner, a cuppa and binging here I come. Keep safe All!! X
I like safe, and my videos are free, so enjoy Alison.... happy crafting!!! 😁👍🏻💜💜💜
Hi Joie, I'm doing good. You've inspired me to doodle and draw on my page so I can make things. As I clean out some things I keep finding things I can use. Thanks so much. Hugs to you.
👍❤️
i noticed when collecting up my pile of types paper and when tea died a bunch and when tearing out book pages that it is fun and i liked crinkle of papers and fun of tearing etc ,,,,it is enjoyable...dont know why but it is ...when the tea dyed ones dried collecting them up was lots crinkle sound and different textures as i dyed diffent types paper and sizes....lol...fun
LOL, love that crinkly sound!!👍🥰❤️
I’m blown away with your ideas!! You are an amazing artist!!
Too generous Elaine, but you definitely made me smile 😁 Thank you!! 👍🏻❤️🥰
Oh l was thinking of how you were this morning and saying a prayer for you. I always enjoy your videos because you inspire us to use what we have. You are the channel l followed. Whenever l feel overwhelmed l love to watch you! You create from a place of serenity and fun. You have great talent. Thanks again💐
You send me hope and I really appreciate that. Sending hugs to you!💜💜💜
@@joiedefi I’m so glad. Please get the rest you need and be refreshed in every way~ ❤️
I love this sound of crinkle I'm been making some myself. Your videos give me inspiration. Thanks so much
You're very welcome Deandre!🥰👍💜
Great idea using Street Atlas as the base for the snippet and I just love the idea of making painted paper! I have so many exercise books and my Granddaughter's subject books she has just finished with! She is cleaning out her room as was going to throw them away. Wow! I can use those to make painted strips. Totally recycling her year 12 notes. Love that idea. Might even make her a journal ro use next year when she begins her Nursing Degree. I'm loving these videos. You are giving me so many ideas 💕 Thank you.
..and you're definitely making me smile 😁... I'm absolutely loving the thought of those recycled notes 🤭👍🏻✔️
@@joiedefi I hear in your voice that you have great respect for paper. Love the way you handle it.
I drive my kids nuts as half our kitchen drawrs are filled with flattened card! I especially like Teabag boxes :) Another great embellishment is a flattened cut up tomato puree tube, you can crimp it or engrave on it and it looks great!
Your creativity is to be admired😊👍🏻 I applaud your keen eye for materials and supplies to convert and play with! Welcome to my channel and to this place for all things paper (and recycled cardstock). My drawers are pretty full too 🤭 hugs, joie 💜🌿🍄
@@joiedefi Thank you, so nice to hear a Brit on here, I just discovered you, so loving watching and listening, like how it feels like you are in the room together! I am at the bottom of the world and homesick for Blighty, stay safe xx
As you sew things onto the strips, consider sewing while wiggling the strip left and right so you get a wiggly sewing line down the strip. You can do that with a zig zag stitch as well. 😁
Love that idea, especially with zig zag stitches!!👍❤️
Love this idea Joie.
Oooh Yolanda, hello!! That's lovely to hear, thank you! 😁👍🏻💜
I went to bed early last night and woke up a bit early. I read my Bible scriptres and prayed. I watched a short video on quilting and this video was on next so I watched it. I always enjoy watching. I'm going to my next follow up tomorrow. All's going very well. How are you sweetheart? Are you able to sleep any better? Things are going to get better, we just have to keep holding on. We'll make through this together. Hugs, love and God's grace and mercy. See you soon. 👍🤗🙏🙏💜💜❤ August 7..2024
Things are improving. It's very slow but I am hopeful. ❤️
Slow is OK. I've got slow going too. I've got almost 3 weeks to go using eye drops. We'll keep going together on our journey. We're going to get there. 😊🤗😇🙏💜💜
This is a great idea to use what we already have. I think I need to do this and use up some of my watercolored papers. Thanks for sharing, take care!
They sound perfect for using in this way😁🍄❤️
Such an awesome video with making ephemera out of using up what you already have. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing with us!
Great to hear that Deidra😁❣️
I love the making of the snippets. Could you share making and using some with a holiday theme? Card making is on my mind and I’d love to try this technique this year. Thank you for sharing.
That's a great idea...just checking...by Holiday do you mean Festive/Christmas theme?
I loved your video it was Amazing 😍 I think your snip it is the most beautiful I have seen. I am not sure if I called it right. The paper sewing strip Thanks for the information and inspiration. I also loved seeing the forest you were talking about it was so peaceful looking. Have a wonderful evening.
Well Cindy what a perfectly lovely comment!! Thank you for making my evening a happy one. Hope to see you here again soon! Joie ❤️👍🏻
Awesome idea! Hope you do this for the holidays. I have some saved Christmas cards I am going to cut up today and pull out some stuff to try. I have a Christmas journal I haven't started, so this will be a great idea to run with. One of your commentors talked about using them for wrapping packages. Oh the endless possibilities. I also love that you always give extra ideas. I loved the addition of the red glitter glue dots and was wishing I had a bottle. You mention sequins - - I have plenty of those. Yeah!!! TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.
Indeed so many ways to use all of those decorative bits and pieces!! 😉👍🏻💜🌿🍄
So beautiful and so useful -- such a brilliant idea! I'll be making some this afternoon. I really like the look of the kraft card behind the snippets, but will probably put a little faint text stamping on it before gluing the snippets down. TFS :)
Wonderful, have fun!! Joie 💜🌿🍄
We call conkers buckeyes here in Virginia. Keeping one in your pocket is supposed to bring good luck and health. Thanks for sharing this lovely project!😍🥰😍
Well I learn something new every day...fab word buckeyes!!
@@joiedefi here in Ohio...The Buckeye State... we make a delicious candy that looks exactly like a buckeye! It’s a Fall staple!
Oooh I didn't know that! So many customs that we have. It's lovely to hear about them. 😁👍🏻💜🍄
Absolutely Wonderful Video Tutorial Joie ! Thank You! 🥰
Ooooh thank you!!
Hi! Really enjoyed this idea! Great video! I've been watching lots of your videos, very inspiring!👍🤗🍁🍂
What a lovely comment!! Thanks Kristy 💞😁👍🏻🍄
Very beautiful and good idea to use up all scrapes 👌👌
Good to use those scraps, thanks very much!!😁👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your makes bring a smile to my face.
Well that works for me Michelle 🙂👍💜
Brillant and so affordable! TFS❤️
Indeed, something that's kind to the budget😁💜
Brilliant, as usual. I love the sound of crinkly paper! A tip for you: if you put your mica powder mixture in a water brush you can paint it on when you want to limit it to small spaces, like on butterfly or dragonfly wings. I just love autumn colors. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my word what a great suggestion....waterbrush, why didn't I think of that. Lovely to see you here Janet ❣️❣️❣️❣️
joie de fi I’d like to send you some happy mail. Do you have an address you are comfortable sharing?
Have we connected on Instagram? That's a good way to chat...
I'm sure going to have ago at these they are lovely. Xxx Thank you for sharing your lovely work.
You're very welcome ❤️
I know what I’m doing tomorrow! What a wonderful, freeing, creative exercise! I haven’t used my sewing machine yet, so it’s going to be exciting to do. I have been loving my book paper embellishments so much! Thank you for the tutes! I am making gift cards and flower clusters sets for gift wrapping. I’ve been filling cookie tins to give as gifts; my mother is going to get one for her birthday. It’s nice to have something homemade and USABLE to give! She will love it! Cheers!
You are amazing Hannah.... your energy and enthusiasm translates through your comments....thank you so much!!!! 👍🏻💜😁
Love this time saving project. Yes some of the terms are a bit confusing. However by watching most of it is explained in what we see artists doing. This is wonderful very informative. Your art and style are all lovely. Thank you for all the tutorial artwork that you do. Lovely. Have a wonderful week stay safe. 😃
Thank you so much Lorie! Really appreciate your kind words 💜
Hey Joie I really love your videos I get really happy when I see a new notification from you, I've been making a few snippet roles lately and this is something new to try.❤❤❤
What a lovely comment... that's just great to hear, thank you Kelly!!!! 😉💕💕💕
I really enjoyed this tutorial, it is nice to see ways of making journals without spending lots of money. I am new to the journal world and I appreciate your very clear ideas. Best wishes Lyn
Good to hear that Lynn.... welcome on board! 😊👍🏻❣️🍄
Great ideas! Thank you!!
Will be doing these using suggested material! :)
Fantastic!! Have fun Ruthann 👍😁💜
Hallo Joie i love to make snippits. and not to spend money I love even more. and it is so nice to make something nice from what you have in the house of paper and scraps.I had no inspiration for a while, so you didn't see and read anything from me. you give me an idea with your snippitrol. I'll get to work on this this afternoon.
and of course I'll show you.
I would like it like the brown color of cardstock
Fantastic!! Sounds like you are up and running, well done!! 👍🏻😊💜
Thanks for the ideas I certainly can’t wait to have a go 😍😍
Fantastic.... keep me posted Eve 👍🏻🎨💜🌿
Hi Joie ! Love the collage strips and how U explained that Ur the best XOXO
Aww, you're too kind.... hope you have a lovely day!! Thank you so much! 😁💜🍄🌿
❤️❤️
Hi Sweet and fun Joi. Love this video #2. Love this part.lovely colors. And what you have used to keep it simple and mostly inexpensive. Glory to God - Florida has (just been announced) we have been furloughed again. I’m appreciative. I love having tea without leaving the house and spending time with you. 🦋 error. Florida has not been closed, it was ( is ) New York😥
Have tea in the house every day Cheryl...stay safe! Hugs, joie 💜🌿🍄
This is such a lovely project! I have a strip of old book paper just ready to go! I like the second layer on the strip. And I have leaves that I can punch and die-cut. Don't worry about what we call our books. I don't think anyone is very confused! They are sort of like the scrapbooking we did when I was a girl. Anything you liked and wanted to keep went in. That term got taken over by the memory "people", and we went on to other names. Technically, "smashbook" belongs to that brand...
I think not only what we make our books out of, and what we put in them, but the sort of gloriously casual and eclectic way of construction is included in junk journals.Don't they say, "No rules!" Hugs! Keep up the good work!
They do say "No rules!" 👍🏻😁😁😁💞
Wonderful ideas to use up scraps, papers and collected odd pieces!! Enjoyable video!! Thx you!! 😉
I like the reusing or repurposing dog food box or cereal boxes!!👌
Upcycling....a lot of fun and , well, good for the environment too I guess! Thanks very much for popping by to watch Michelle ❣️👍🏻😁
Love these came out so well.
Thanks Janet! ❣️
This is so fun!! I love how it looks all stitched and glued together! 💙💙💙 I saw the vocab video too and realized I’m not very good about keeping vocab clear and making it easy for people to learn. I love puzzles so the puzzle pieces are super fun! 😁
You know what I mean about the vocab stuff then....yay for those puzzle pieces 👍🏻😁❣️🌿🍄
Hi Joie! Just love watching your videos, I always come away with so many great ideas. I have lots of regular purchased papers and things to use for my junk journals, but can't seem to throw useful things away. I have bins of cereal and dog treat boxes as well as packing paper and junk mail. What you have shown is a great way to utilize some of those items! As always Thanks and Hugs!
Splendid to hear that Carey! 👍🏻❤️😁
Great project. Thanks for sharing 😍🌴
You're very welcome 😊💜
Beautifull idea. Thank you !
You're very welcome Hannie!! Welcome to my channel 😊💕
This was fun to watch as you created💕. I have moved my craft stuff around too many times. So I’ve lost track of things. I need sort through all kinds of crafting supplies. It’ll be a great way to use it up😊! Thank you for sharing, take care 💗🤗 !
I think that will be fun Kimberly 😊❣️
Thank you for a really fun tutorial! I loved the dog kibble box!
Thanks very much Laurie..... great to meet you, welcome. 😁💜
Thank you so much for showing ideas on how to make things inexpensive. So helpful. Thanks for sharing
Very welcome Kim ❣️😁
Awesome video. Thank you for sharing!
You're very welcome Vanessa 💕
Love ideas on using cereal boxes they do come in handy lol
They definitely do Sherry 😁❣️
Thanks so much for this use what you have videos. I will be trying this for holding some of my art in my art file folders.
Sounds perfect Kathy. I'll catch you on one your art streams soon!! 😁💕👍🏻
Always inspirational
Thanks Selina 😊❣️
Love it joie
Ur so creative
Awww, so kind!! 😁👍🏻🍄💜
Wonderful video as always, that is the longest snippet roll I’ve ever seen! Lol x
Indeed it is Tina!! So happy to be filling out Altered Books together too; I just filmed a video doing that and I used this snippet roll in it. I think this would look good using your Woodland Digital images; I'm going to have a go using hem, excited to play❤️🍄🌿💜
Fantastic! I'm a beginner so I don't have tons of supplies, I appreciate any idea that's inexpensive.
Let's do it Nola! ❣️🌿
Joie I have noticed how noisy your sewing machine is
Think itsy be asking for a good oiling to quiet it some. Check your book that comes with the machines to show where to oil. Love your wonderful channel. You have taught me so many exciting things to do for our journals. Thank you for happiest viewing!!!
You're absolutely right.....I changed the thread and it helped a lot. Thanks so much for helping me Carol 👍💜💜💜
Thank you for the idea's
You're very welcome Sally Jo! 😁❤️
I like to watch you play Colour and paper. Thank you.😀
You are very welcome Xixi 👍🏻😁
joie de fi I also like your sweater, it’s so elegant.haha😂
Hee hee ❣️😁👍🏻
Love these!!
Fantastic 😁👍🏻❤️
beautiful as usual joie You use such simple things but you make them look so pretty, I did make some rolls a few months ago to use up scrap paper but I do not have a sewing machine so i glued it but I think they turned out fairly well. Thanks for the video can't wait for the next one .
Well done for using alternative strategies Kathy. You get extra points for that 😉👍🏻❤️
Thanks for sharing your snippet ideas. Love them! I can't wait to try some out.
They're fun....hope you enjoy making them Michelle ❤️👍🏻😁
Great tutorial! I just had a lot of fun adapting it to the goodies I had on hand. I used photos of famous artworks (from a BIG book) instead of map. And I had already made a collage out of stamped music, so I used that instead of painted paper. They are so pretty! You've got a new subscriber!
Awesome, welcome Claudia! Sounds like you have this nailed.... you're adapting to use what you have and having lots of fun in the process. Simply perfect!! 😊❤️🌿🍄
Fabulous Joie. Love that the emphasis is on using inexpensive materials - looking forward to more ideas like these.
I'll do my best Debbie!!
joie de fi thank you!
Great ideas. Tfs 💞
That's very kind of you Karen 😁👍🏻💜

Awesome, thank you!! 😁👍🏻💜
There is always a lot going on in your video's, i really like what you have created here : ) Big like from me !
Thanks a lot Davy!! 💜
Amazing idea and I’ll definitely try this. I do like using my gel press💖💕
Ooooh nice, a gel press....on my Christmas wish list 😁👍🏻❣️❣️❣️❣️
Oh dear I have just acquired a sewing machine, but a bit frightened to sew thicker things and also scared that I would catch my fingers lol
I know what you mean!! I am gradually adding thickness to see how it goes.....gently, steadily, but lots of fun on the journey!! 😁😁😁💜🌿🍄
So fun and inspiring! Thanks for sharing ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻😘
Thanks Melissa!! 😁💜
brilliant
Thank you
Such a creative and fun idea!
Thanks very much Lisa!!
Also - I just shared this with my swap group - Hopefully we will be doing a swap using this idea soon - and that some of my swap friends will also discover your talents. :)
That would be wonderful... thank you very much!! Keep me posted and let me know if you have any questions!! 😁👍🏻💜🌿🍄
Ms Joie another awesome ideal for snippets I just purchased The Times Atlas Of The World 9th edition like yours cause loved the pages. The web sight is called Thriftbooks.com if you’re interested & of your like myself you may not want anymore books lol 😂. The prices are worth it, & in saying that I will give this snippet a try!! Still having fun working on my altered book, painting the pages like Shabbydabbydoodah,, @ the moment so thank you for sharing this beautiful tutorial!! 😊🤗🤗
Fantastic April!! My next video is working on my Altered Book.... it's really lovely to be doing all of this together 👍🏻😁❣️🍄
Yes ,, I’m excited to see what steps are next few more pages tonight @8:15pm in the states. Plus I really need to proof read b4 ⬅️ lol 😂 send a message. I’m REALLY EXCITED about doing MY 1ST ALTERED BOOK. I’m also excited for all who want to learn the process. Thanks for being a great Instructor & Teacher for those who want to go beyond our IMAGINATION to be creative. Your are awesome 👏🏾 love your personality & enthusiasm for teaching 😊😊!! Thanks again for sharing 🎉.
March 28/2024 Thanks again. Hope all is going well. ❤🙏
A bit better thank you
You're welcome.🙏😇🤗😇
IM LOVING THE IDEA! IM IN PRESSED WITH THE SIZE AT THE LEAF PUNCH OUT. WHERE DID YOU GET IT?
I found it on QVC....a home shopping channel 😊💜
I love your videos💖 Can you tell me the brand of leaf paper punch you use? I looked on QVC but did not find any punches. The others ones I have found are a lot smaller. Thank You!!
The brand is Woodware. They turn up on eBay every now and again too. It adds great texture for Autumn crafts. Good luck Laura, thanks so much for popping by to watch!!💜
Listen to that sound, the crinkle.....LOL - I thought it was just me.
You're not alone 👍🏻😁❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your fabulous ideas 💡 I love the fact you use what you have and don't expect us to go out and buy loads of new stuff. I'm now addicted to making snippets. I would love to send you some. Do you have an address I can send Happy mail to. Many thanks Debbie
