  • This is my review of the updated DJI O3 version of my favorite FPV drone - the Emax Babyhawk O3 along with footage from 2 flights - both DVR and also stabilized 4k 60fps footage from the O3 Camera.
I love the Babyhawk because it's it's so light (155g without battery), nimble, and agile. Compared to the iFlight AOS 3.5 EVO v1.2 (also with DJI O3), the Babyhawk O3 is more agile, floats in the air longer, and is more fun to fly, but the AOS 3.5 has better protection for the O3 camera, and more powerful motors. If I had to choose one, I would pick the Babyhawk O3.
Battery Life: with an 850 battery it's easy to get 8 minutes of cruising, and with my favorite battery (the GNB 1100 HV), I can get 10-11 minutes, depending on how I fly. These 2 sample flights (around 7 min and 6.5 min) were with an older 850 that is past its prime, and I stopped before the battery was at 3.5 per cell.
Camera settings: 4k 60fps, EIS off, Wide, 1/60 shutter speed, Auto ISO (was around 100-800), ND 8 filter, D-Cinelike 10-bit, auto white balance, Sharpness -2, Denoising -2.
Stabilized in Gyroflow using 0.25 smoothness and dynamic zooming speed of 4 seconds.
Final Cut Pro editing: added a bit of saturation, added sharpening 2.5.

Just got one last night. Had some 4s 850 CNHL lipo's, swapped the ERLS out for Crossfire and ready to go once lunchtime comes today. Can't beat a work lunchtime rip😬 Loved the Vista version and everyone has said good things about the 03 version.

Awesome! Let me know how you like it. It's so light and nimble and fun to fly -- crazy flight times too. I prefer the GNB 1100 HV 4s. 8-9 minutes easily.

@@DanielPeckhamFirst flight out the box was really good. Certainly feels the same, if not better than the original Vista version. Full confidence in it a lot quieter to a 5” or cinewhoop. Big like from me and more flights this weekend in the woods hopefully 👌

Loved it, thanks for sharing. I am looking at the Babyhawk O3 for my second sub 250 setup that will be better for outdoors than my Pavo Pico.

It will be way better outdoors than the Paco Pico: much more power but still light and quiet.

Hey ! Great footage ! I love this time of day to fly. There is quite a bit of contrast between the shadowed and sunlit areas however you can't beat the color saturation of the golden hour. 😊 Why not try some right hand turns too? Keep up the good work bud !

great flying! would you ever consider replacing the babyhawk motors with the more powerful AOS motors?

Thank you! That might be good. I have the AOS 3.5 as well, and I do like having a bit more power.

I just received my babyhawk 03, and was wondering if you know what that white connector in the back of the quad is for? I also have this and mine is a DJI PNP version as well. A lot of reviewers had the ELRS version and it didn’t have it from what I could see.

You can ignore it - not needed if you use the DJI remote. I just taped the cable to the side. Or you could un-solder it. It's for connecting a different receiver like ELRS.
