I was surprised to wake up and find out that the Commando is getting a nerf, which I believe is the worst decision. The Commando was unique and special because it could destroy fabricators.Also, I appreciate Tortoise on Discord for informing me about this.
Come on man.... It should be able to kill Fabs through the vents... not from any angle. We all knew this was coming. It is ZERO surprise to anyone. That being said, I agree that it is a disappointment that they couldn't catch this in TESTING.... However, it is OP as it stands. We don't want to make this game to easy it will just get boring. Look I'm upset too but you got to admit it was way too good. Also it's not unique if there is more the one that can do the same thing. That was the Spear's uniqueness before The Commando. I have snipe bot fab with the Commando at angles that I couldn't lock on with the Spear. It is what it is.
Let me get this straight. Arrowhead released Commando before testing if it works as intended despite Commando leaks reaching like... 2 months ago or even more. It turns out that the best feature of the Commando is a bug and will most probably get nerfed into oblivion. Great work Arrowhead.
They are very tone deaf. Somethings are literally as simple as "will this change be good or positive for the community or game?" "Will it add fun or take away fun?" And often they self sabotage their own community by changing something that no one has a problem with and is fun. They have failed to calculate "fun = more players = positive feedback and morale" Remove fun = less players = negative feedback and morale.

If anything it's an ability which should be patched into the other anti-armour rocket weapons as it makes sense and feels good, but no, Let's nerf a weapon everyone's enjoying... Arrowhead seriously need to actually Learn and realised the nerfs even the hint of the word are killing the player base

We as a community managed to convince them once before, and the only way we can steer them into the right direction instead of letting them slip back to their old ways is to act. We aren't just bystanders, we can be more than faceless masses. We have a voice and I will use mine now. I sincerely hope you all do as well.
That’s extremely disappointing because i thought the most attractive and satisfying feature about the Commando was the fact it could destroy fabricators and bug holes from all directions… but also does this mean whoever tested it didn’t even think to shoot bug holes and fabricators with it? And if they did and rolled it out like that anyway then it should be a feature you can’t be blue balling people with new weapons all the time that really brings the mood down.
@@armstronggaming8566except that they should have been bug testing, instead of playing the game, there’s a pretty big difference between the two, in bug-testing you’re messing around with EVERYTHING to do with what you’re testing, cause you don’t know if shooting a certain rock could cause a crash. Or if it’ll unlock some secret dialogue meant for two months from now. Cause bugs are both unpredictable and difficult to deal with.
yeah I am so sick of losing cool weapons, Commando isn't even OP, it just sacrifices a little damage to get some utility and that is what I like about this weapon
Instead of nerfing the Commando by removing the "glitch" of being able to destroy bot fabricators from any direction, they should just give the EATs that same property for consistency. That way all disposable rockets have that ability, and the Spear is the one ammo-based exception that can do the same.
Uh no, you inferior rocket launcher people get to have your own choice of backpack to make up for your launcher’s failings, whereas us Spear users deserve to blow up fabricators whenever we feel like it. And laser cannon turrets. And tanks. And, well, anything big and heavy armored that we don’t want breathing anymore to be frank.

@@LaserTractor Alright, how would you buff every other launcher to match the Quasar's usability? EAT / RR both do the same damage as QC, the difference is the QC has no ammo limit or reload time, just a cooling off period. EAT is a 1-off per tube, so there's no fire rate change that'll make it worth. A damage buff wouldn't change much since the value is in shots, not flat damage. Anything you can do with Quasar, you can do with EAT, faster from the pod. RR's ammo econ is solid if you know what you're doing and don't reload it out in the open like a buffoon. 6 shells in a much shorter timeframe than QC even before the nerf. The only way you probably could buff it was give both of the other launchers more ammo - but as someone who routinely plays higher difficulties with EAT / RR, that's hardly ever a problem. Maybe speed up the RR reload a bit, but I don't see damage being the way to go coz at the end of the day, breakpoints matter. If you buff a launcher but it doesn't change breakpoints, it doesn't affect it's overall value against it's intended targets. A round to a Hulk's front plate that takes it to half vs one that takes it to 15% still requires a second shot. Hitting it in the face is a one shot regardless. Making both RR and EAT one shot stuff outside of specific cases like the Hulk faceplate or Charger head starts devaluing the QC, because it'd be in a state where it must hit those specific cases to keep up, and those cases are few and far between. Why bring a two-shot weapon vs most heavy targets that relies on hitting small hitboxes to one tap when you don't need to hit that shot with others to instantly drop the same targets? You could argue QC is more of a skill weapon then, since you're weaker when you miss precision shots. Here's the kicker, though. QC got nerfed and it still kicks ass. It gains more value over time, and especially so from the skill to hit precision shots. The other launchers are more responsive, and also gain value from precision. EAT supports both QC & RR by supplementing fire rate or availability and is great for those situations where the AT guy gets killed and his launcher is unrecoverable and a new one needs a few minutes to be deployable. Personally, I don't blame you for wanting buffs over nerfs, be it in this scenario or others. Most people don't understand how over-buffing can just as easily break game balance as over-nerfing can. It's counterintuitive, but it's a real thing, and sometimes, a nerf is the right call. For the QC, it was. A lot of other things? Definitely not.
I'm so sick of the nerfs, I don't believe they play their own freaking game because if they did, they would know how hard it can get with these weak ass weapons and how bad the nerfs make the game feel. Bruh, It can two-shot any heavy enemy in the game, you can literally kill two entire bile Titans with one launcher. Gasp, instead of taking out an entire heavy factory from a mountain with ease, you'll have to walk around and shoot the vents with it instead 😮 Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that I could do that, but saying that was its only redeeming value is just wrong.
@@DaGobster1 eats have 2 seperate shots. It also takes both to take a titan down. The commando is essentially carrying both eats at the same time. Also just use both.

Games Workshop spent a considerable amount of time gaslighting the fan base trying to convince us that female custodes was always a thing, despite years of established lore saying otherwise, all because they wanted to dip into that DEI money that Amazon was shelling out. And then GW hired a woke man with a social media history of hating straight white males (who make up a considerable portion of the fan base) to write the story for SM2. As far as many of us are considered, we’re not throwing a dime at GW until we get the proper respect we deserve.

After awfully bad Polar Patriots warbond people started raging everywhere about how poor balance and overall warbond quality was. Well, almost instantly devs responded that "maybe they were wrong about balancing the fun out" and month later we saw buffs. For the first time in 4 months it were good buffs, not miniscule ones. I'd say being loud helps if devs don't want to engage in calm dialogue
They can nerf all the weapons they want and watch their player base continue to drop for all I care. I love the game, but if this is the decision they keep going with, then there are other things to play.
Exactly, it's like anything that is fun and feels powerful they're just like no no no. I mean the damn mortar should be able to blow up fabricators but that's another story. I pre-ordered black myth wukong and some other things this was my favorite game and the balancing team just continues to finish what Sony started. And before anybody jumps on, they have done nothing but Nerf shit into the ground. I don't care about the bugs or the glitches or anything like that I care about feeling powerful and having fun. And they've literally taken the last thing away.

My FIRST day was a lvl 5 bug mission to get a hang of the controls, then IMMEDIATELY was dropped into Meissa lvl 9 automatons. I still have nightmares….
@@judyfps5059 humans are tough, but i don't think we can tank 2-3 rockets and stay un-gibbed (and try to inject ourselves with heling drugs). What i meant is - even when you stay alive (mostly - thanks to heavy armour with explosive resistance) you still get yeeted by blasts all around the map.

Demolition Force is the thing that handles destroying structures, not AP or damage, meaning the mod might be misinformed at best since they're focusing on AP. Fabricators require 40 Detector Towers require 50 Eagle, Spear, and Commando have 40, so they can destroy Fabs but not Detectors OPS and 380mm Barrage have 50, so they can destroy both.
They need to remove that term from their dictionary. I am so sick of the nerf first ask questions later mentality. If the weapon is more powerful than intended and you didn't do proper testing, then figure out another way to fix it. This is a complete lack of testing. It took the players all of 5 seconds to figure out it took down fabricators, and yet you guys couldn't figure this out? Do you actually do testing?
Sadly I had a feeling the Commando wouldn't last too long with it's Fabricator smashing capabilities... here's hoping they just leave it as is If it does get the Axe guess I'm going back to the Autocannon

At least this way we know in advance if it’s a feature or bug and can communicate our reaction before it is “stealth” nerfed or patched without us voicing our opinions.
as someone who constantly plays on lvl 9 against these buggers, i'm honestly not comfortable with even more stuff getting nerfed into the ground to be fair. we're already hard pressed as is with the bots doing death spams (3-4 dropships ever like 30 seconds to a 1 minute) of tanks, massive columns of bots and sometimes 1-2 factory strders. if this apparent bug actually helps in dealng with these bg ass'ed walking sony factores of death then honestly i say, leave the bloody thing alone so that we can actually stand a chance here rather then burning through our respawns faster then the delorian did going back to 1955. but that's just my take on it
I really think devs need to pay attention to what folks are excited about with new content… We get excited when things possibly don’t work as designed because of the surprising nature of how it differs from other choices. Perhaps DON’T fix???
They had weeks to patch it out if it was a bug, which means it cannot be. They also said they test weapons before releasing. Idk why vitamin is talking about AP though. Its the demolition value not the armor penetration value. So that means they must have changed the value manually, unless they where trolling this is not a bug but a feature.
Why does AH always fuck with the last remaining great things about this game. Fix your damn friend list issue before you mess with things unnecessarily that make the game great.
The Commando will still be used, it’s a powerful anti-medium enemy weapon with a cool “laze the target” tracking system that can be pretty much called up for every major battle you’ll be involved in. Use the Spear if you want a true anti-enemy technical asset weapon and git gud.

The commando being able to destroy buildings with ease is basically its entire identity, take that away and it’s just a lesser EAT with a laser guided gimmick and thats not really exciting to me
I'm seeing a pattern here. Imagine them focusing this much effort on improving the actual game. It's obvious what the devs are doing. This is a textbook relevancy tactic in order to justify the continued requirement for their role in the company with the least effort. This is part of the reason player count has significantly dropped. I'm sure the CEO dismissing the bot mob density as player incompetence hasn't helped their image either. This game would have been fucking amazing had it been released under a western studio in 2010 instead of 2024 where you can sneeze and get full paid disability and nobody can dare say a damn thing, like why is nobody talking about how the entire development team gets a 6 week paid vacation? I get that Arrowhead is a Swedish developer but holy hell, I would just sell the IP to a more competent studio at this point because there’s absolutely no faith in them anymore, it’s a huge shame cause this game had such potential, but potential alone can’t pay shareholders I guess.
If they wanna lose an actual 90% of players, nerf ONE MORE THING. If AH knows whats good for the game they wont just walk back nerfs, theyll adopt a development strategy that doesnt necessitate nerfs where weapons, strats, and other gear and items come released feeling good and fittingly powerful enough to effectively dispatch our enemies. You dont fight a war like this with intentionally sub par weapons and ordinance unless you intend to lose. If anything the commando needs a buff. If it can take out a fabricator in one shot then it can take out a hulk with one shot to the back and dropships with a single shot to the engines. Make the Fabricator thing official and buff it up. Its totally fine to have it be a GOOD HEDP weapon that cant be reloaded.
I wish they would keep better track of player stats. I want to know how many bile titans, chargers, devestators.. I've killed. Not just the total number of kills overall
It was the reason crossbow was nerfed. On release of Democratic Detonation warbond it was clapping small bugs and bot troopers in masses. 1 arrow could kill 8-12 bots if they are close. It was FUN! But ofcourse you'd be with most kills because of that. Devs didn't care and nerfed it just based on numbers. Now it's a sad weapon
If they remove the ability to destroy fabs, I've basically zero use for it outside of fortress defense missions, aka asset evac. I love it as a Blitz weapon, more than the Spear. Spear still has it's place as the strongest AT missile, and having a smaller launcher able to 1-tap fabs is not that big of a deal.
I think a compromise for the Commando is to have it destory Fabricators in 2 shots instead of only 1. So that way we keep its ability to destroy Fabricators without it feeling overpowered.
To be honest, IDK if the mods or support team know what they are talking about, destroying fabricators is not a bug, if anything its an unintended feature. This is because emplacements like fabricators or jammers or detector towers don't go by armor penetration, but rather a different modifier (because there is like 30 of them) that called demolish or destruction I think. The spear and commando have a high enough number to destroy fabricators, like how an orbital precision strike has a high enough number for detector towers. This is also why structures don't really have health, because its just a check weather the weapon can destroy them or not and then they die.
This is why I don't even fuck with the Helldivers discord, I don't trust a single mod in there. Plus isn't like half or more of ArrowHead devs still on vacation? Why are we nerfing one of the newest pieces of tangible content that adds to the player power fantasy weeks later?????? WE STILL HAVE GAME BREAKING BUGS THAT CAUSE CRASHES!! The priorities with these devs is beyond retarded. To be honest, i feel like Helldivers 2 being a live service game is what really kills it from the inside. Everything is drip fed, all these leaks of all these cool new stratagems, weapons, vehicles, and new enemy factions don't matter. They'll get nerfed, have they core identity taken away because it was a "bug" while each new patch/update brings more game breaking glitches. As a player, I'm both tired and disappointed.
Well that just killed one of my load-outs because 2 months of using a greatly balanced weapon getting thrown in the trash can and cutting back down to only like 1 or 2 loadouts per side.....
The armor you mention is the intro cutscene with no saturation filter, there's no black armor in the leaked files other than the jinroh style cosmetics that they have in the files.
honestly i was using both spear and commando but recently ditch the first one and applied the rocket backpack for extra mobility i have to say i kinda love the commando been able to destroy fabricators in one hit,i really hope they don't delete that ability and they just nerf it a little bit like 2 rockets to destroy or 1 rocket but you need to aim at the vents
I think that the Commando being able to pop fabs is like keeping it alive, if it’s not able to do that, I feel as if no one will ever use it. It’s weaker than every other rocket strat, and it’s turn/tracking rate is to low to use for taking out things like the Gunships, and I feel like the only ones who will keep using it, are people who like the style of it. But that will be a very small minority as most people prefer function over form
wow. ANOTHER nerf. So surprising. and just as the next war bond is supposedly dropping... this is turning into a trend. every war bond I can think of got nerfed like this; right before the next warbond releases. guess they gotta make the new war bond worth it by devaluing the gear in the last.
I don't even get excited for new warbonds at this point. Anything good is likely to get nerfed. Plus we're still playing the same old boring mission.. New weapons and armor on the same planets we've liberated dozens of times, with played out mission types doesn't really excite me.
If they patch that feature, I feel like it'd be a weaker version of the EAT's in some cases. However, it can take two shot tanks and turrets from any side, which is still powerful in its own right. The fact it can take out fabricators from any side just made it unique.
I have tagged the dev team in the discord to save the commando, as is. They responded, and passed the info up the ladder for us. It was seen as priority over other requests.

How is it a glitch if it does it everytime? A glitch means it doing something it not designed to do. Its a giant rocket laucher, irl this baby could heavily damage structures. This has made solo much easier. Fix the spawn rates before commando. Probably gonna take a break hearing thst tbh.
It's not glitch, not a bug. They've added some "demolition power" attribute somewhere and never tested it before release. Or tested it on 1 enemy type.

I personally believe that the ballistic shield should be completely revisited. It offers a different option compared to the energy shield, but it doesn't bring anything "special". In my opinion, Arrowhead could give it an additional ability, such as a melee attack or a way to deploy it on the ground to create a shield that provides more protection, which could then be picked up again and redeployed.
This is exactly y i moved on to The First Descendant. No nerfs over there. They even found a bug that occurs at a certain farming location, and instead of nerfing it they said they'll just buff other locations. 👍🏾
I’m very disappointed to be honest. I was having mad fun with the commando. If it launched the way it was “intended” i might feel differently but having played with it as it is now it just feels saddening knowing it could change.

Great experience.., if its gonna be anoying at times we also want some tools we can play our strategy with. most of the times u dont see the fabricator anyway when its all foggy or dark, so you still have to get up close.
It really is annoying that people only do bugs, we have failed so many major orders because people refuse to help, I saw yesterday that one bug planet had more people on it than the entire bot front even when the mo is a bot one.
I've actually thought that the commando was likely not supposed to destroy fabs from any angle (like pre-release crossbow), and it not being changed was a pleasant surprise. But honestly even without the fab from any angle destruction it's still pretty good all things considered, still hitting many of the damage breakpoints. (my opinion is that the ONLY change commando should get is the removal of the destroy fab from any angle, but keeping all the damage breakpoints)

That's actually a skill issue. Sure you get ragdolled alo in a mission but most of the times you can hide behind a rock or just shoot whatever is shooting you. And if you can't kill it then you brought the wrong stuff

The maps fucking suck, there’s barely any cover, it’s all just concealment which doesn’t do you favors when the bots know where you are once aggro’d. Hell the over-wash from their rockets can go through your cover and rag doll you. Not gonna even talk about Heavy devastators. They need to add an armor passive specifically for ragdolling because that’s the most annoying thing with bots.

Busting fabricators (and the occaisional turret tower) is pretty much the only thing I use the commando for, so taking that away leaves me with the question as to why I should use it over the other options... I just don't really see many other advantages it would have.
So someone points out a feature of the commando that they weren't sure about and brought it to the devs attention. It wasn't a bad thing. It was a powerful buff to players. They did the equivalent of making sure the teacher grabs the HW.
allow me to suggest: rather than nerfing the commando, buff one or two other antitank weapons to be able to pop the fabricators, and increase the number of them that spawn in each outpost. i recommend EAT, Recoilless, Spear, and Commando being able to pierce the fabricator ealls and explode them, but the rest of the support weapons cant, and have to go through vents. itll keep the weapons feeling great, but balance it out by requiring more on hand to clear the POI and youd be spawning in more enemies. your bomb strategems would be largely unaffected since they either dont destroy fabricators, or kill a bunch in one area. your notable exceptions like orbital strike and rail cannon generally are saved for hulks and tanks so im not too concerned for them feeling a bit weaker against this one target type...
I'd say that the RR and EAT should also be able to take out bot fabs with direct hits, maybe 2 shots so you can't just drive-by an entire base but anti armour rockets should be able to take out an armoured building better than a autocannon.
Thanks to that bug I was able to Platinum the game using it for the ‘Gone in 360 seconds’ Trophy. It made it easy to clear an automatons blitz mission quickly because you get 4 shots and it calls back in so fast.

Look I'm upset too but you got to admit it was way too good. Also it's not unique if there is more the one that can do the same thing. That was the Spear's uniqueness before The Commando. I have snipe bot fab with the Commando at angles that I couldn't lock on with the Spear. It is what it is.

Let me get this straight.
Arrowhead released Commando before testing if it works as intended despite Commando leaks reaching like... 2 months ago or even more. It turns out that the best feature of the Commando is a bug and will most probably get nerfed into oblivion.

They are very tone deaf. Somethings are literally as simple as "will this change be good or positive for the community or game?" "Will it add fun or take away fun?" And often they self sabotage their own community by changing something that no one has a problem with and is fun. They have failed to calculate "fun = more players = positive feedback and morale" Remove fun = less players = negative feedback and morale.

That’s extremely disappointing because i thought the most attractive and satisfying feature about the Commando was the fact it could destroy fabricators and bug holes from all directions… but also does this mean whoever tested it didn’t even think to shoot bug holes and fabricators with it? And if they did and rolled it out like that anyway then it should be a feature you can’t be blue balling people with new weapons all the time that really brings the mood down.
I use the commando quite a lot with the the spear. It's a nice loadout too.
it'd be fairly natural for a developer to not use the commando to break fabs when they know the values for the weapon and its intended uses

Or if it’ll unlock some secret dialogue meant for two months from now. Cause bugs are both unpredictable and difficult to deal with.

Instead of nerfing the Commando by removing the "glitch" of being able to destroy bot fabricators from any direction, they should just give the EATs that same property for consistency. That way all disposable rockets have that ability, and the Spear is the one ammo-based exception that can do the same.

EAT / RR both do the same damage as QC, the difference is the QC has no ammo limit or reload time, just a cooling off period. EAT is a 1-off per tube, so there's no fire rate change that'll make it worth. A damage buff wouldn't change much since the value is in shots, not flat damage. Anything you can do with Quasar, you can do with EAT, faster from the pod.
RR's ammo econ is solid if you know what you're doing and don't reload it out in the open like a buffoon. 6 shells in a much shorter timeframe than QC even before the nerf.
The only way you probably could buff it was give both of the other launchers more ammo - but as someone who routinely plays higher difficulties with EAT / RR, that's hardly ever a problem. Maybe speed up the RR reload a bit, but I don't see damage being the way to go coz at the end of the day, breakpoints matter. If you buff a launcher but it doesn't change breakpoints, it doesn't affect it's overall value against it's intended targets. A round to a Hulk's front plate that takes it to half vs one that takes it to 15% still requires a second shot. Hitting it in the face is a one shot regardless.
Making both RR and EAT one shot stuff outside of specific cases like the Hulk faceplate or Charger head starts devaluing the QC, because it'd be in a state where it must hit those specific cases to keep up, and those cases are few and far between. Why bring a two-shot weapon vs most heavy targets that relies on hitting small hitboxes to one tap when you don't need to hit that shot with others to instantly drop the same targets?
You could argue QC is more of a skill weapon then, since you're weaker when you miss precision shots.
Here's the kicker, though. QC got nerfed and it still kicks ass. It gains more value over time, and especially so from the skill to hit precision shots. The other launchers are more responsive, and also gain value from precision. EAT supports both QC & RR by supplementing fire rate or availability and is great for those situations where the AT guy gets killed and his launcher is unrecoverable and a new one needs a few minutes to be deployable.
Personally, I don't blame you for wanting buffs over nerfs, be it in this scenario or others. Most people don't understand how over-buffing can just as easily break game balance as over-nerfing can. It's counterintuitive, but it's a real thing, and sometimes, a nerf is the right call. For the QC, it was. A lot of other things? Definitely not.

Games Workshop spent a considerable amount of time gaslighting the fan base trying to convince us that female custodes was always a thing, despite years of established lore saying otherwise, all because they wanted to dip into that DEI money that Amazon was shelling out. And then GW hired a woke man with a social media history of hating straight white males (who make up a considerable portion of the fan base) to write the story for SM2. As far as many of us are considered, we’re not throwing a dime at GW until we get the proper respect we deserve.

Of course people being loud helped. After awfully bad Polar Patriots warbond people started raging everywhere about how poor balance and overall warbond quality was. Well, almost instantly devs responded that "maybe they were wrong about balancing the fun out" and month later we saw buffs.
For the first time in 4 months it were good buffs, not miniscule ones.
I'd say being loud helps if devs don't want to engage in calm dialogue

I pre-ordered black myth wukong and some other things this was my favorite game and the balancing team just continues to finish what Sony started. And before anybody jumps on, they have done nothing but Nerf shit into the ground. I don't care about the bugs or the glitches or anything like that I care about feeling powerful and having fun. And they've literally taken the last thing away.

Demolition Force is the thing that handles destroying structures, not AP or damage, meaning the mod might be misinformed at best since they're focusing on AP.
Fabricators require 40
Detector Towers require 50
Eagle, Spear, and Commando have 40, so they can destroy Fabs but not Detectors
OPS and 380mm Barrage have 50, so they can destroy both.
They need to remove that term from their dictionary. I am so sick of the nerf first ask questions later mentality. If the weapon is more powerful than intended and you didn't do proper testing, then figure out another way to fix it. This is a complete lack of testing. It took the players all of 5 seconds to figure out it took down fabricators, and yet you guys couldn't figure this out? Do you actually do testing?
Sadly I had a feeling the Commando wouldn't last too long with it's Fabricator smashing capabilities... here's hoping they just leave it as is

as someone who constantly plays on lvl 9 against these buggers, i'm honestly not comfortable with even more stuff getting nerfed into the ground to be fair. we're already hard pressed as is with the bots doing death spams (3-4 dropships ever like 30 seconds to a 1 minute) of tanks, massive columns of bots and sometimes 1-2 factory strders. if this apparent bug actually helps in dealng with these bg ass'ed walking sony factores of death then honestly i say, leave the bloody thing alone so that we can actually stand a chance here rather then burning through our respawns faster then the delorian did going back to 1955. but that's just my take on it

They had weeks to patch it out if it was a bug, which means it cannot be. They also said they test weapons before releasing. Idk why vitamin is talking about AP though. Its the demolition value not the armor penetration value. So that means they must have changed the value manually, unless they where trolling this is not a bug but a feature.

The Commando will still be used, it’s a powerful anti-medium enemy weapon with a cool “laze the target” tracking system that can be pretty much called up for every major battle you’ll be involved in. Use the Spear if you want a true anti-enemy technical asset weapon and git gud.

I'm seeing a pattern here. Imagine them focusing this much effort on improving the actual game. It's obvious what the devs are doing. This is a textbook relevancy tactic in order to justify the continued requirement for their role in the company with the least effort. This is part of the reason player count has significantly dropped. I'm sure the CEO dismissing the bot mob density as player incompetence hasn't helped their image either. But hey... do you Arrowhead.
This game would have been fucking amazing had it been released under a western studio in 2010 instead of 2024 where you can sneeze and get full paid disability and nobody can dare say a damn thing, like why is nobody talking about how the entire development team gets a 6 week paid vacation? I get that Arrowhead is a Swedish developer but holy hell, I would just sell the IP to a more competent studio at this point because there’s absolutely no faith in them anymore, it’s a huge shame cause this game had such potential, but potential alone can’t pay shareholders I guess.
If they wanna lose an actual 90% of players, nerf ONE MORE THING. If AH knows whats good for the game they wont just walk back nerfs, theyll adopt a development strategy that doesnt necessitate nerfs where weapons, strats, and other gear and items come released feeling good and fittingly powerful enough to effectively dispatch our enemies. You dont fight a war like this with intentionally sub par weapons and ordinance unless you intend to lose. If anything the commando needs a buff. If it can take out a fabricator in one shot then it can take out a hulk with one shot to the back and dropships with a single shot to the engines. Make the Fabricator thing official and buff it up. Its totally fine to have it be a GOOD HEDP weapon that cant be reloaded.

On release of Democratic Detonation warbond it was clapping small bugs and bot troopers in masses. 1 arrow could kill 8-12 bots if they are close.
It was FUN!
But ofcourse you'd be with most kills because of that.

If they remove the ability to destroy fabs, I've basically zero use for it outside of fortress defense missions, aka asset evac. I love it as a Blitz weapon, more than the Spear. Spear still has it's place as the strongest AT missile, and having a smaller launcher able to 1-tap fabs is not that big of a deal.
I think a compromise for the Commando is to have it destory Fabricators in 2 shots instead of only 1. So that way we keep its ability to destroy Fabricators without it feeling overpowered.

To be honest, IDK if the mods or support team know what they are talking about, destroying fabricators is not a bug, if anything its an unintended feature. This is because emplacements like fabricators or jammers or detector towers don't go by armor penetration, but rather a different modifier (because there is like 30 of them) that called demolish or destruction I think. The spear and commando have a high enough number to destroy fabricators, like how an orbital precision strike has a high enough number for detector towers. This is also why structures don't really have health, because its just a check weather the weapon can destroy them or not and then they die.
This is why I don't even fuck with the Helldivers discord, I don't trust a single mod in there. Plus isn't like half or more of ArrowHead devs still on vacation? Why are we nerfing one of the newest pieces of tangible content that adds to the player power fantasy weeks later?????? WE STILL HAVE GAME BREAKING BUGS THAT CAUSE CRASHES!! The priorities with these devs is beyond retarded. To be honest, i feel like Helldivers 2 being a live service game is what really kills it from the inside. Everything is drip fed, all these leaks of all these cool new stratagems, weapons, vehicles, and new enemy factions don't matter. They'll get nerfed, have they core identity taken away because it was a "bug" while each new patch/update brings more game breaking glitches. As a player, I'm both tired and disappointed.
They seriously need to stop nerfing fun weapons even if it is a bug (if it is not gamebreaking).

The armor you mention is the intro cutscene with no saturation filter, there's no black armor in the leaked files other than the jinroh style cosmetics that they have in the files.
honestly i was using both spear and commando but recently ditch the first one and applied the rocket backpack for extra mobility i have to say i kinda love the commando been able to destroy fabricators in one hit,i really hope they don't delete that ability and they just nerf it a little bit like 2 rockets to destroy or 1 rocket but you need to aim at the vents

I think that the Commando being able to pop fabs is like keeping it alive, if it’s not able to do that, I feel as if no one will ever use it. It’s weaker than every other rocket strat, and it’s turn/tracking rate is to low to use for taking out things like the Gunships, and I feel like the only ones who will keep using it, are people who like the style of it. But that will be a very small minority as most people prefer function over form
wow. ANOTHER nerf. So surprising. and just as the next war bond is supposedly dropping... this is turning into a trend. every war bond I can think of got nerfed like this; right before the next warbond releases. guess they gotta make the new war bond worth it by devaluing the gear in the last.
I don't even get excited for new warbonds at this point. Anything good is likely to get nerfed. Plus we're still playing the same old boring mission.. New weapons and armor on the same planets we've liberated dozens of times, with played out mission types doesn't really excite me.
If they patch that feature, I feel like it'd be a weaker version of the EAT's in some cases. However, it can take two shot tanks and turrets from any side, which is still powerful in its own right. The fact it can take out fabricators from any side just made it unique.

I have tagged the dev team in the discord to save the commando, as is. They responded, and passed the info up the ladder for us. It was seen as priority over other requests.

How is it a glitch if it does it everytime? A glitch means it doing something it not designed to do. Its a giant rocket laucher, irl this baby could heavily damage structures. This has made solo much easier. Fix the spawn rates before commando. Probably gonna take a break hearing thst tbh.

They've added some "demolition power" attribute somewhere and never tested it before release. Or tested it on 1 enemy type.

I personally believe that the ballistic shield should be completely revisited. It offers a different option compared to the energy shield, but it doesn't bring anything "special". In my opinion, Arrowhead could give it an additional ability, such as a melee attack or a way to deploy it on the ground to create a shield that provides more protection, which could then be picked up again and redeployed.
This is exactly y i moved on to The First Descendant. No nerfs over there. They even found a bug that occurs at a certain farming location, and instead of nerfing it they said they'll just buff other locations. 👍🏾

I’m very disappointed to be honest. I was having mad fun with the commando. If it launched the way it was “intended” i might feel differently but having played with it as it is now it just feels saddening knowing it could change.

most of the times u dont see the fabricator anyway when its all foggy or dark, so you still have to get up close.
It really is annoying that people only do bugs, we have failed so many major orders because people refuse to help, I saw yesterday that one bug planet had more people on it than the entire bot front even when the mo is a bot one.

I've actually thought that the commando was likely not supposed to destroy fabs from any angle (like pre-release crossbow), and it not being changed was a pleasant surprise. But honestly even without the fab from any angle destruction it's still pretty good all things considered, still hitting many of the damage breakpoints. (my opinion is that the ONLY change commando should get is the removal of the destroy fab from any angle, but keeping all the damage breakpoints)

That's actually a skill issue. Sure you get ragdolled alo in a mission but most of the times you can hide behind a rock or just shoot whatever is shooting you. And if you can't kill it then you brought the wrong stuff

The maps fucking suck, there’s barely any cover, it’s all just concealment which doesn’t do you favors when the bots know where you are once aggro’d.
Hell the over-wash from their rockets can go through your cover and rag doll you.

They need to add an armor passive specifically for ragdolling because that’s the most annoying thing with bots.

We all knew that the commando/fabricator interaction was bugged.
Busting fabricators (and the occaisional turret tower) is pretty much the only thing I use the commando for, so taking that away leaves me with the question as to why I should use it over the other options... I just don't really see many other advantages it would have.

So someone points out a feature of the commando that they weren't sure about and brought it to the devs attention. It wasn't a bad thing. It was a powerful buff to players. They did the equivalent of making sure the teacher grabs the HW.
allow me to suggest: rather than nerfing the commando, buff one or two other antitank weapons to be able to pop the fabricators, and increase the number of them that spawn in each outpost.
i recommend EAT, Recoilless, Spear, and Commando being able to pierce the fabricator ealls and explode them, but the rest of the support weapons cant, and have to go through vents.
itll keep the weapons feeling great, but balance it out by requiring more on hand to clear the POI and youd be spawning in more enemies. your bomb strategems would be largely unaffected since they either dont destroy fabricators, or kill a bunch in one area. your notable exceptions like orbital strike and rail cannon generally are saved for hulks and tanks so im not too concerned for them feeling a bit weaker against this one target type...

I'd say that the RR and EAT should also be able to take out bot fabs with direct hits, maybe 2 shots so you can't just drive-by an entire base but anti armour rockets should be able to take out an armoured building better than a autocannon.

Considering how the entire dev team is on a 6 week paid vacation, I would be surprised if there’s anyone working on it at all honestly
Thanks to that bug I was able to Platinum the game using it for the ‘Gone in 360 seconds’ Trophy. It made it easy to clear an automatons blitz mission quickly because you get 4 shots and it calls back in so fast.
