She looks like she's going well :). I heard tails that Nauticats don't sail well, I think your video proves otherwise!
I wish you fair winds and following seas

There are different types of Nauticats. Our model (the 38) has a semi long keel, and a skeg in front of the rudder. I think that is the reason she sails better than the more old fashioned models that has a traditional long keel (The old 33 and the old 44).
A long keel is good for directional stability, and a shallow draft, while a modern fin keel is good for sailing performance, high speed and maneuverability.
Our model with the semi long keel is a mix of these two worlds, and gives fair sailing performance while still a good directional stability and old fashioned behavior as a blue water cruiser.
Those who say that the Nauticat dont sail well might be thinking of the long keel versions, or they compare her with a new modern sailing yacht with a fin keel. We would choose this type of keel again.

@@Sailing-Maja I thought she was "motor" sailing

@@youngypaul Yes, we often motor sail. She sails OK with the sails only, with the wind force and direction right. In real life we often use the combination in order to get there in time. As we say; The fact that we are sailing does not mean we need to stop the engine…
But the silence we get when the engine rest is magical!

I have a Hams Christian 38. Great motor sailors in light winds. Need 15 knots to sail alone.

@@youngypaulAh that is a beautiful yacht. Lucky you. Thr Nauticat want some wind as well to sail without motor. 15 knots sounds similar.
