It is usual for there to be errors in statements that are recalling matters from a very long time ago and involving an older person without access to all records. The record shows while he was present the priest's history was not raised or discussed. Any Catholic diocese especially very large diocese are administered by the Vicar General. He was not at the meeting. The Vicar General has said he did not tell Benedict.
