I'm a big fan of Jonah's creativity and directing. Watching him start out as a side character and slowly become larger than life in some of the greatest movies has been a trip fr.
ererer
I was a fan of him first
was never a side character lol. he always had main character energy
I just want to buy these moonboots.
Yeah if it wasn't for his side characters he wouldn't have the chance/opportunity to direct. Like if he wasn't in any movies before and just tried directing nobody I mean nobody would give him a chance or listen to him. So if he didn't act in those movies as a young man
I was very touched by this film. I’m seeing it at a crucial point in my life where I’m realizing that I have a calling to answer to. I’m on a path to become a therapist myself, and I’ve never felt more motivated and inspired
Bravo!
That's fantastic! Best of luck to you on ur journey ✨️ 💛

If you haven't seen this movie then you NEED to. Jonah has changed my life by making this film. I think everyone can relate to moments in this film and it reminds you of truths you already knew. You see yourself in Jonah and also in Stutz. But knowing that others are going through a similar journey is inspiring and gives me hope. I'm in my 30's. I've fallen into so many of these traps myself. The tools that Stutz and Jonah have shared will change my life and I'll use them for the rest of my life. Thankyou Stutz. Thankyou Jonah.

As an autistic person that has had their life absolutely saved by therapy, I love Jonah for this. Specially because of the general view of men on seeking therapy.
I always feel like the "annoying one" when I try to explain to people the importance and beauty of my relationship with my therapist, but in this little clip Jonah totally expressed the feelings and gratitude to have a professional helping you be your better self. Can't wait to watch this.

As someone who has now been seeing and interacting with a therapist for a little under 2 years now, I CANNOT WAIT for this documentary. Hopefully this documentary will connect and reach out to a lot of people who find themselves stuck in life. It's never too late to take action on your life and see it from a different perspective that you weren't aware due to life circumstances. As Jonah said "my life has gotten immeasurably better as a result of working with a therapist" and I can gratefully say I am a testament of that. As a huge supporter of mental health awareness, I hope this film does the same for you my friends. So proud of Jonah's journey. Cheers!
As someone who works in mental health, I’m hopeful that some people in need will see this doc and be inspired take that daunting first step into therapy 😀
Therapy is for idiots when you have google at your fingertips
What he said like “most therapists think it’s good enough to just listen & let them figure it out when they’re ready” alone made me look forward to watching this.
I talked to the same therapist for 6 years, and while there were some impactful moments (and a lot more that _felt_ impactful at the time but in retrospect didn’t really help any) I found that so relatable.
Looking back, I 100% was talking to a “listener”, who I now think was probably mostly in it for the money - maybe not from the start but at some point they weren’t “in it”, which undoubtedly makes those of us talking to them not be as willing to be vulnerably honest.
I’m hoping I can get a glimpse of what a real therapist looks like here & possibly decide to find one... easier said than done in some places but I know it’s possible.
Just saw this and felt compelled to write a review. If you stumbled upon the comments and are considering watching this documentary, do it. Heartwarming, funny, and impactful. the entirety of the movie is riddled with humor, thoughtful questions and answers, and insights that can help us understand ourselves better and arm us with the tools needed to become a more happy person. I will be using some of the tools mentioned (as I've already done during the movie). When Jonah and Phil were talking about seeing your shadow and integrating it as part of your life, it really struck a chord with me. I practiced that exercise and was able to identify why I felt ashamed of certain parts of me and starved it of attention. After doing the exercise, I felt a sense of relief. Like a part of me finally felt a sense of connection. I'm very glad to have found this movie.
I could not have put it better myself! Loved the tools, but the shadow one was my favorite.
Thank you, Jonas, for sharing your therapist’s tools. I have watched Stutz over and over to glean more insight and understanding of my self. Thank you for making such a heartwarming and helpful movie!!! More, please.

Just saw this and personally I love it so much. I’m a bigger fan of Jonah than ever before and now a fan of Phil also. I use their first names because this was so personal I feel closer to them and to myself and family after seeing this. This movie is a diamond in the rough since movies like this just aren’t made much. I will share this with everyone I love. Thank you Jonah, Thank you Stutz!!!!
So much respect for Jonah Hill. Being his own person and achieving truly creative projects that are his own.
What an amazing therapist, thanks Jonah for sharing him. The tough part of therapy is finding someone who gets it when that shouldn’t be rare!
Life will always have some pain, uncertainty; and you'll always have to work at it. - Dr. Phil Stutz
I came across this film with little enthusiasm or expectation. I'm not a fan of celebrity vanity projects.
However I came away with some very useful insights. Stutz's "tools" and characterization of life seem so simple and obvious, yet I found that the way that he presents them compelling.
He's a no-nonsense guy who makes a lot of sense. We all have baggage and are flawed and can thus benefit from self-insight. I think a lot of folks could glean something useful and encouraging from this documentary.
When the trailer makes you tear up… the documentary is going to be an amazing life experience
@@frd8050 I agree with you regards the music. However, I think you underestimate the positive impact this documentary might have on people with mental health issues who can't afford or don't have access to a good therapist. The tools that were said in this film has helped so much in my daily life. Not all therapists give out useful tools like these and these tools in this film might not work on some people either and that’s okay. The fact that Jonah gave these tools out to people who are unfortunate to afford therapy or is ashamed to find therapy or even just trying to find a therapist that works with them is amazing. Thank you Jonah and Phil
As a therapist, I’m in awe of everything touched on. However, the therapeutic relationship is where everything hangs on. What a gift of availability and love. So pleasant to watch.
I wish my clients will say of me that ‘She gave’.
Powerful witnessing.
In my country, Japan it's very difficult to find a good psychiatrist or therapist. I became emotional while watching this. This film might be more helpful than the medical examination and therapy session i've received over 13yrs.
Same here in USA...13yrs under my belt! There is a suicide here every few minutes! I absolutely LOVE this documentary. It's so well done!!!
I watched this last night and it was not only incredibly heartwarming, but provided incredibly useful tools for feeling better starting today. For being kind to yourself and taking charge of your life. Stutz is truly a unique mind born of his own struggles and his authenticity will touch your soul. 10/10 highly recommend.
Great comment!
I cried watching this. You can feel the genuineness of the love in this relationship and how just how much growth is possible. It is deeply touching
“Give someone the feeling they can change right now.” Hits so deep
There were quite a few parts of this documentary that touched me so hard, I cried, especially the part about loss processing. I was bawling, because that’s the biggest thing I struggle with in my depression. Thank you so much for making this, Jonah! The world really needs more healthy awareness.
I hope Jonah has some clue how much good he’s adding to this world, especially with this type of movie, which solely made to help people. It’s very admirable.
Agreed. It’s special
It's wonderful....and the tools he wanted to share were brilliant!!!
Yeah, and he made it for free, there was no financial gain or motivation behind it. I heard he even gave Netflix all his money to release it.
Too bad he uses the language he learns in therapy to be an abusive douchebag.

The bravery and vulnerability that both of these men shared with us, means so very much. Thank you gentlemen. This was absolutely amazing, I'm in tears, not sad, more happy and not feeling so alone. This film means a lot to me. I enjoyed it very much and watched it twice, despite many tears. I struggle with severe mental health issues and I've had good therapists and not-so-good therapists. This is such an honest discussion and I think it's brilliant that Jonah Hill was able to make this happen (with Phil Stutz, of course). I love and appreciate him even more. Both of these men are incredibly special people and I'm thankful for them allowing us in to hear their intimate musings. Nobody ever wants to take their own lives, they just don't want to be in anymore illness or pain. What this movie makes you realise is that none of us are completely alleviated of pain, we can only use daily tools and routines to alleviate each painful moment as they come. Just yesterday I was in a very dark place, after this movie I have been alleviated for now, and I am grateful and more accepting. Thank you Jonah and Stutz.

if this movie makes it more social acceptable for people (especially men) to take better care of their mental health I am all for it. I wish it could one day be viewed socially as going to the gym. This film is a pearl of a movie. Jonah and Stutz collaborated with this documentary over a period of time and their process is very insightful of their journeys. I watched this while on sick leave and isolation so it was very comforting. Highly recommended. This is a remarkable doc. Unique original concept. Been in therapy half my life and this was a game changer for me. Did not expect this from Jonah Hill.
The trailer doesn’t do it justice. This was refreshingly original and genuinely helpful advice
I’ve only watched the trailer & I am deeply moved already! I am so incredibly proud of the 2 men behind this project. I applaud their vulnerability & strength. I applaud the message that’s being sent to men that it is ok to be vulnerable and it is ok to talk about it too! It took me having & raising a son to see the unique struggles & ludicrous societal pressures that boys/men face. I am so glad we are coming out of the whole “boys don’t cry” mentality. I LOVE THIS!
Take note because this is EXACTLY what a strong man looks like! ✌️ ❤️ 😊
Nicely said! And let’s be honest - those folks that subscribe to “boys don’t cry” just don’t realize that they aren’t crying in front of other people. Boys/men are are vulnerable just like girls/woman. It’s only that boys/men are ridiculed for crying so they have to shelter it and grow thick skin while breaking on the inside.
This was life changing. I took notes the whole time. I love them both. Thank you, Jonah and Phil. ❤️❤️
True confidence is living in uncertainly and moving forward. What a blessing this film is! Amiable humans these two are.
Thank you both for this mind-soul blowing experience. I was in quarantine and feeling lost, unmotivated. Cried through the whole damn movie. The level of respect and gratefulness that the patient has for his therapist and vice versa is inpirational. Thankfully this movie spoke to me. I am so moved and grateful for this documentary. It moves me in a variety of colors of the emotional spectrum. It makes me go through deep feelings, from laughing loud to tears. The authenticity of the protagonists exposing their vulnerabilities, and the beauty of the aesthetical design and sketches of the film in Black/White is sublime. Every single detail has been conceived with courage and love.
The connection or attachment between therapist and patient, which transcend a timeless bond, that it becomes internalized forever by the tools. Beyond the stunning result is the process's journey I found most fascinating. I am very grateful to Phill and Jonah for making tangible their Sun world.
A lovely, sweet and practical film. Thank you Jonah. You are on the right path
Excellent, if you've had therapy, if you haven't, this film is essential, lots of therapies help, but not all. This shows you the core of what therapy is and can only be, and that is, at its core, self-love and acceptance, but it's not always easy getting there. I've always loved Jonah, always felt a sensitive, beautiful soul at his core, and of course, we all know his huge talent...

I was immensely moved by Jonah Hill & Phil Stutz in this very unusual & monumental film - Thank you Jonah for your complete vulnerability in making this film (for even considering it) & allowing us a glimpse inside your journey of growth & learning a process to becoming your best Self. I've spent/spend a significant amount of time & energy in searching & 'finding my way' & have been in therapy. This film was, I have to say I feel, gifted to me at the perfect time when Phil Stutz's commonsense, great humor, brilliant & fully understandable way of looking at the human dilemma is hitting me for my best 'absorption'. Both of you are remarkable men in your own ways - the fondness & love you have for each is beautiful. Loved the visuals, Phil Stutz's art is wonderful & helps to draw a clear picture. the love and pride that ignites in stutz eyes when he realizes how much of a difference he has made was beyond a masterpiece.
Thanks stutz and Jonah, this movie has changed everything for me.
I too thought it was beautiful how they need/help each other!
Bravo to you Jonah, Phil and your team - vulnerable and precious
This was absolutely mind blowing and so precious! Thank you Phil Stutz and Jonah Hill for making this movie. You both certainly help many people. Myself included. It was overwhelming but I learned a lot and I will keep those precious tools!! 💐🙏💕
What a beautiful film! Thank you, Jonah and Phil!
This *brilliant* documentary found me right when I needed it. Everyone in the comments below raves exactly the way I would rave about this, all I can say is I’m watching it for the third time already. Thank you for the vulnerability. Thank you for the wisdom. Thank you for the practices. I’m blown away. I’m inspired. My sincerest, Heart-felt thanks to my two new Soulmates: Jonah and Phil. Thank you SO much, thank you so very much. Namaste ✨🙏🏼✨
I'm in canada, This was so impactful on my life and in the moment i needed this. i'm sharing it as we speak.
this has moved me and my two sisters and i'll share it with friends.
I loved this documentary, Jonah I know you were worried at one point. It was amazing to me. I love the way it played out, and I love your relationship together. Thank you for sharing ❤
I just so happen to watch this film on the day that I needed it the most. Thank you both! I cant wait to watch it again with my family.
This is really on another level, thanks Jonah, you do let us connect with what you went through and at the same time, get healed because some of the things we learn, is that it's a continuous battle, no matter what - till the end, and happiness is a state of mind.
This blew my mind. I've thought about it all day and plan on watching it tomorrow with a notebook to jot down the tools shared and key phrases. I have always liked Jonah Hill but love him for sharing something so incredible with the world. I hope he is recognized for this film and I can't wait to see what he does next, whatever it's about. In my perfect world, this is what Hollywood would make more of. I also wish I had my own Phil Stutz to learn and grow with, what an amazing man. So much love for anyone who can be vulnerable and real with others, and I love seeing positive male relationships on this level.
Thank you so much for making this available to everyone. I keep watching it and making notes and have even done the cloud tool a few times.
Amazing documentary. These two guys are incredible. Love their vulnerability and honesty. The tools are awesome. Thank you so much 🙌
If only more celebrities would do things like this.
Jonah is just such a great guy.
Thats what Jeff Ross said

Just finished watching this. It felt like a beautiful love letter. Now I’m doing a CZcams rabbit hole thing. Don’t want to leave that Stutz space just yet.
Thanks for making this wonderful film. I was deeply touched and now I feel like I got a clue where to start from to move forward.
Thank you Jonah Hill and thank you Phil Stutz. I'm very touched by the wisdom and vulnerability in this movie or documentary. I just watched the whole thing.
This is simply beautiful!!! As a therapist myself, this sheds light in how important mental health is ❤
This film and the Stutz toolkit will have enormous ripple effects for the greater good of humanity. Awesome job Jonah!
Outstanding. Thank you for this and wanting to help all who see this. Blessings to Stutz and you.
Jonah Hill, this is brilliant and brave. We need more movies/programs/series like this. Unfortunately, not everyone that needs these tools can afford to seek them out in a therapist. You have helped so many people by sharing this with the world, at a time when we need this more than ever. I hope you continue on this path with Dr Stutz, in addition to all your amazing work on the big screen.
So true.....it will help so many....which is what he wanted!!! Well done Jonah!
Fun fact: the LCD Soundsystem song, “Someone Great,” is written about the death of James Murphy’s therapist- who he also adored. In fact, the whole album, “Sound of Silver,” was dedicated to him.
I've never liked Jonah Hill, There is so much i did not see in the/his person. This documentary helped and healed me in some ways. I'm am truly humbled. God bless Dr. And Jonah
Jonah~ BEAUTIFUL WORK! In every way. Thank you for your vulnerability. Your bravery. The world needs more of you, your work, and your smile. I’m not even finished with your film…and just had to tell you. ❤
