  • Adding a sub really enriches your driving experience. If you don't have a sub woofer you're missing out on a lot of music. The sub woofer can produce sounds a normal speaker can't. We install an interesting setup in our 2005 Honda Civic that might be appealing to some people that want something that doesn't take up too much space.

Yeahhhhh competition type bass...I thought I needed just a bit...yeah (All bought from Visions) I picked up that big A-Trend dual 12 inch ported box...stuffed it with dual Hertz 12 inch subs (4 ohm SVC) wired em parallel and powering them off a Kenwood X501-1 amp...turns out I like not just a bit of bass but a LOT! I think they can hear me coming if I crank it up...

@@AnthonyJ350 ahhhh maybe next would be a four channel amp for the satellites lol Hertz Dieci 4x6s up front, Dieci 6x9s in the back still on deck power (I know I could go Energy but there's no 4x6 in that series and I'm not all that good with custom fitting speakers)but that's a Alpine CDE-HD149BT...fully crossed over AND level set oddly thanks Alpine! Yeah I can crank it up nice thanks to how efficient the speakers are, but you know... all want...more! And yes I have upgraded the ground already and you'd be right in guessing it's a GM car. I installed a dual terminal battery and added a top post ground cable that terminates directly to the body. Old trick I used way back in a very similar car.
Also come to think of it...other than the stupid interconnect from the deck to the amp at the moment, the whole system was purchased at Visions.

Thanks for the cool video. Ive bought a blaupunkt underseat active sub with the same cable harness as this alpine unit (power, ground, remote, speakers all in this harness). I am a noob at this. What would be the best way for me to connect the power wire from the battery to the subwoofer's harness? Do I need a power distribution block? Do I splice? I really want to do this the proper way. Any guidance would be welcome. How did you do it?

, most car amps like the one inside this woofer are class d, digital amps and run cooler.
if your running a competition type set up you won't be installing your amps and woofers under a seat anyways.

I have had days where I accidentally leave the sunroof open or a window cracked and then it ends up raining g without notice while I’m asleep or somehow unawares … I get to my car and have to use my shop vac to get the puddles water out from the floor carpeting. I would worry that this would somehow get wet 🧐 I wonder if this could be placed behind the passenger seat under the rear window… there’s really plenty of space and I never put anything there

@@AnthonyJ350 lol. Not sure why you placed the words “regular problem” in quotations … unless you simply don’t understand how to use punctuation… which would not be surprising. I did not use those words, so putting it in quotes is disingenuous. It has happened and could in the future occur, was the implication. Your inference is reaching.

If you're wondering if this can go in the trunk, yes and it will perform well in there.
I don't like putting amps in the trunk if I can help it because condensation happens in there, and people toss their belongs which potentially can damage wiring.
