A friend of mine was living in Vienna in the 80s, and one afternoon he’s in his local bar having a quiet half-litre. As he’s sitting there he notices a group of guys at the bar asking the barman for directions. They didn’t speak German and the barman didn’t speak English so the conversation was going was nowhere. My friend knew where they wanted to go, so offered to show them the way. And so began a mad night of drinking with the Pogues.
I met Shane in a pub in London back in the 90s he was an absolute Gentleman and more than happy to have a chat over a pint.
With respect, the "drunk in a pub" part of the title wasn't necessary. If young Shane McGowan is in the video, it's basically a given.
