In this inaugural episode of "The Nuckhead Podcast," I answer viewer-submitted questions, tackling topics ranging from comparing the current Vancouver Canucks team to the iconic 2011 squad to discussing the infamous President's Trophy Curse. I explore the potential re-signings of Canucks players on expiring contracts and delve into who I believe is the most underrated player on the team this season. Additionally, I take a look at the looming playoffs and analyze which teams might pose the biggest threats to the Canucks' postseason aspirations. I also explore personal preferences, including my favourite non-Canuck hockey player of all time and cherished Canucks-related memories.
But the episode wouldn't be complete without me sharing the story of when Canucks forward, Nils "Big Hög" Höglander, challenged me to a game of ping pong and won.
Thanks for listening!

I was deployed in Afghanistan at the time of the game 7 against the Blackhawks. I had to get up like 3:00 in the morning and we had this big TV room in one of our buildings on base and there were around 15 Canucks fans there. We barely knew each other but when Burrows scored that goal, we were jumping around hugging each other and some people were crying. It was a great moment to be a Canucks' fan and such an unique place to be to see them win like that.
Bieska knocking the sharks out was pretty cool too just because he and a few fans watching were the only ones who knew where the puck was
luongo also knew
If a recall correctly, when Burrows, scored the goal, John Shorthouse said “The dragon has been slain”. Finally defeating the Blackhawks.
That call will reverberate in my bones for life
I am already loving the podcasts!!!
Thank you for listening!! 🫡
It was awesome to see them finally beat the black hawks.my late grandma and I cheered loud.
one of the first times I've heard a canucks fan talk about that cooke goal, nobody seems to rememeber it. Unreal
I’ll never forget it 🫡
94 Nathan Laffayet hit the crossbar in game 7… still haunts me
Chris Tanev game winner in overtime against the wild 5 secs in the playoffs
Game7 I had to change channels to relieve my stress level lol
1982 Stanley Cup run
As a lifelong Canucks fan, these kinds of videos make me sad. These are the defining moments of our franchise. They are 1ST ROUND victories.
Still hype as hell though!!
Yes, I was around for all of them including Brown to Bure but this was also in the 1st round. I’m not saying they are not great. I saw them all live on TV and they were exciting. But for these moments to be the greatest in over 50 years is very sad. We need to aim higher, we need better moments!
Game 7 of the 2011 finals 😎
2007 series game 1 vs dallas and game that sent them to the 2011 finals against the sharks ( was at that game)
94 playoffs were the best! All of it
canucks coming back from 3-1 series deficit against the Jets in 92 and again against Calgary in the 94 cup run! especially the latter.
My is burrows goal against the dragon lol not surprising but oh well
You can never go wrong with that answer
my favorite canuck playoff memories are from 30 years ago. the 94 team was most definitely the best canuck team ever assembled. they were actually up 3-2 coming home for game 6 and they took a loaded up ranger team to 7 games. the games were close. nothing like the 8-1; 4-0; 4-0 blowouts by the bruins in 2011.
they were not the best nucks team ever. the 2010 team would destroy them. im a life long McKlean fan and yeah Luongo is just better in every way.
They barely made it into the playoffs. They were one game above .500. Love that team but they were absolutely not the best team ever assembled.
@@SouPNaZi316 were you even alive for the 94 playoffs? if you were you wouldn't be talking about the 2010 team.
@@lannon4prez parity in the league was unparalleled in 94. 1 game over .500 and went to game 7 of the final. that was a team that had everybody putting it all on the line. i've been watching this team since 1970 and the 94 team WAS the best.
My top 5 Of all time in no particular order
1: Game 7 Round 1, 1994 Vs Calgary, "The Save" by Kirk McLean
2: Game 7 Round 1, 1994 Vs Calgary "Burre going in, HE shoots He scores!!"
3: Game 5 Round 3, 1994 Vs Toronto "Linden carries the puck in over the line, back to Babich, Long shot,. Potvin has trouble with it, Adams shoots scores. GREG ADAMS! GREG ADAMS! ADAMS GETS THE WINNER! Fourteen Seconds into the 2nd Overtime and the Vancouver Canucks are off to the Stanley cup finals"
4: Game 7 Round 1 2011 Vs Chicago. Burrows scores in OT
5: Game 1 Round 1 2007 Vs Dalas Henrik Sedin scores in 4th OT to end it.
I love the dallas one
hell ya
I don’t know if I’m the only one, but the First Episode appears to be missing on Apple Podcasts???
Yes!! This was a screw up on my part. It’ll be available as normal at the start of May. My apologies! 🫡
@@nuckheadpodcast Awesome! I was hoping to listen to it again, I’m loving the podcast, also big fan of the videos keep it up!
Favorite playoff moment? Riots, gotta be the riots. 😅
It looked like a coat was thrown on the ice to interfere with Calgary's shot on the empty net? Or am I just seeing things?
I think it was a jersey!! 😤
