Jenie Novicio hello, I’m by no means a doctor but I can speak from a patients point of view. I had the laser treatment 6 years ago and there was no pain or side effects. Just yesterday I had the needle injection treatment and it was painless just a few days of seeing some floaters and minor swelling around the eye, I’m hoping this helps my eye health in the long run.
James Matthew After getting the injection my vision has gotten a bit better and I had a follow up appointment. My doctor said I may need more injections in the future but I’m at the point where I can reverse the effects as long as I keep my a1c levels down and watch my diabetes.
I don’t have the best insurance but after insurance paid their portion I paid somewhere around $300-$500 . I think there are different types of injections (depending on the severity of retinopathy) some are more expensive than others. I would highly suggest getting in to see a doctor they will give you better information. All the best to you!
I have had anti-veg-f injections in each eye every month for the last 3 1/2 years of Eylea, Lucentis, Avastin, Vabysmo and back to Eylea. Additionally, I have had steroidal implants (Ozurdex) 3xs and laser TREATMENTS. I have good insurance with a copay...injections are 2000 a piece with ongoing scans, etc. Just a few days ago, my doctor is finally elated to see reduced edema as it was evident on the scans. Best wishes and good outcomes to all who have diabetic retinopathy.
no. retinopathy is not reversible. And vegan eating isn't necessarily diabetic. You can eat plenty of carbs on the vegan diet. Carbs are basically the "enemy" when it comes to diabetes. But you still need a healthy diet that's balanced. Diabetes sucks..especially for the very poor. Food pantries pass out alot of sugary processed foods if you need their help... and even if you buy your own food. 2 packages of Mac n cheese feeds us way cheaper than veggies and healthy meats. It's really getting harder these days as a single mom....
Thank you for being the dedicated, thoughtful, and compassionate doctor that you are, you are more honest than I imagined, thank you so much Dr Igudia CZcams channel for curing my type 2 Diabetes, you are amazing
Some postulate that Type II Diabetes is nothing more than the modern version of the old disease Berberi (very similar symptoms). A vitamin B1 Thiamine deficiency. Choline too. Check out the Arginase/ Arginine (nitric oxide) relationship in the eye plus start to incorporate Superoxide Dismutase into your diet. The Glisodin® version of SOD is best for absorption.
EAT A CAN OF SPINACH 4-6 DAYS A WEEK, AND BLUE BERRIES ALSO, THEY REALLY HELP ME... THEM SHOTS $ 3,600 EACH DID NOT HELP ME, I TOOK 8 MONTHS, GOT TO HAVE SOMEONE DRIVE YOU HOME CUZ BLIND YOU FOR HOURS. ITS LIKE THAT GIRL SAID, ITS MORE OF THE THOUGHT OF GETTING A SHOT IN EYE.

can't you just become a vegan for a year; loose weight for cholesterol and run a mile when there is no traffic ?

Is your eye fully recovered now? Did you take any medicine?
How did things work out for you?
Nano-grade eye drops should be the last-ditch treatment for diabetic retinopathy.
