  • Today we compare the new JX3 Hybrid Saddle to the Tethrd Mantis Saddle. We have our buddy Zach with us who has never sat in a saddle and he gives us his first impressions for both systems, and we try to answer questions like: How heavy is the JX3 Hybrid? Can you shoot a bow from the JX3 hybrid saddle? Is the Tethrd Mantis comfortable? Is the JX3 Hybrid comfortable? How do you maneuver around a tree in a saddle? Is a saddle good for gun hunting?
    And much more! Keep in mind this is a first impression video! We will be using the JX3 hybrid over the next few weeks to get more familiar with it, and once we feel like we fully understand how to use the system we will do a COMPLETE REVIEW OF THE JX3! In the meantime, if any of our viewers or listeners have questions they want answered about the JX3 or Mantis saddles, send them our way and we will try to answer them in a future video!

    Apple's and oranges if you ask me. I have both saddles, hand down best one is jx3. All day comfort and for older backs, no other choice. I move and walk often. With the integrated steps, it carriers nicely. Public land no issues to use jx3 exclusively.

    That JX3 Hybrid is legit. I sat in it at SaddlePalooza and was really impressed with the comfort and attention to detail. Great review here.

    I’m about to purchase this saddle, I only hunt on private and am not walking in miles and miles at a time. I’m mainly doing this to stay mobile and be able to hunt many different places without having to purchase a ton of tree stands. I like with this it seems lighter and easier than packing in a stand every hunt

      melvin sacromentoe if you have tree pre set with sticks or steps this would be an awesome setup for that style of hunting.

  • @Howardhandupme
    @Howardhandupme Před 10 měsíci

    And like last guy mentioned, steps. The jx3 steps are worth the money. The top step/platform has reverse handle bar setup that lets you rest feet on sides of tree

    I’d like to see some traditional bow shooting from that JX3, looks to be a dandy of a rifle stand!!

    I’m a public land gun hunter and just ordered the jx3 for the last week of hunting... I couldn’t wait til next year. I bought the therd phantom back in bow season but wasn’t real accurate shooting far from it

    I’m definitely going to try to get a jx3. It makes way more since for me. I have lots of sets but all on private land and not that far from the road

      melvin sacromentoe then the JX3 would make perfect since for you. Email JX3 outdoors at their website and ask to be put on the purchase list. No obligation and no deposit. Tell JohnReed, the owner or JX3, that you liked this video and are excited to try on out. Glad you enjoyed it!

    even with a smaller saddle you are carrying all the extra stuff you are still up to 20 plus pound,witth this it severs as a pack as well so it really all evens out it is exspensive but it comes with the ropes and careabiners

    • @chasingthefish9042
      @chasingthefish9042 Před 4 lety

      I dont think the mantis would weight 20lbs with everything. I havent seen a weight comparison however. I was thinking close to ten pounds with sticks.

    • @jacobmyers3149
      @jacobmyers3149 Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, it is adjustable. The shorter you keep it the more stable it is.

      You are never disconnected from the tree ever.
      Put your first stick up
      Put your linemans on
      Place your next stick
      Move the linemens up
      Attach the tether and remove the linemans.

    The weight difference compared to a mantis. Minimal. No need for a pack or platform. It carries well. Feels light. Get a JX 3

    • @thesouthernoutdoorsmen
      @thesouthernoutdoorsmen  Před 5 lety

      hairbackglow we see what you mean, but it won’t cut deep enough to girdle the tree unless you sat in the tree A LOT!
