By my reckoning it was Cy Grant who sung the end jingle. Cy Grant who was well remembered for his topical folk calypsos on the BBC TV series Tonight from 1957-65, and was the voice of Colonel White in the Andersons' later series Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons (1967).

There's a little phrase hidden in the story - you note down the word when there's a ping and put them together.
It's "There's nothing like Super National to make a good car go better". You could send it in and get a prize. Took me 56 years to work that out - am I too later for the prize?
