      it's fking genious, mate! much respect. is the ending the show deserved. can't wait for the final part tomorrow!
      ps. also, while you might not want to become a games of thrones youtuber, is worth noting that your rewrite of ep. 3 is your most viewed video ever (if i'm not mistaken) - that's how i found your channel actualy. so why not profit a little from this and get more subs and more notoriety while also giving got fans some closure?
      what I want to say is there is no issue with you rewriting the ending - it's actually welcomed and I suggest you should use this approach for other popular and/or controversial current media - shows, movies and whatnot, in order to grow your channel.

      @Gustavo Vasconcelos as far as the show is concerned, Bran's story was completely boring to me. All it is, is him and a couple friends pulling him in a sled for a long distance and fighting a few people who want to kill them. Then going and sitting under a tree cave, and then coming back. There was a lot of potential for a more interesting story, but potential is not actuality. He goes there, and comes back as an apathetic boring character who adds nothing to the story and helps no one. He just sits there staring all the time.

    • @dan7553
      @dan7553 Před 5 lety +54

      Gustavo Vasconcelos so his story is - getting pushed out of a window and becoming a cripple, getting a new power and having people defend and carry him north so can become the three eyed raven and then coming back home and doing essentially nothing. yea just about everyone else has a more interesting story, including arya and sansa. honestly bran probably knew telling jon his true parents would push dany to go mad and slaughter almost a million civilians just so he could be king. what did bran even do during the battle of winterfell? we see him warg into some ravens at the beginning and then... nothing

    • @dan7553
      @dan7553 Před 5 lety +16

      Gustavo Vasconcelos yea but here’s the thing, I don’t give Bran any props for going that far north. Why? Because he was literally carried there on a sled or the back of hodor and his friends. Don’t forget Jon and his team also went north and captured a wight, far more interesting of a story of people going north. Even Sam’s story is more interesting, exiled from his family and sent to the fall, faces numerous trials and and eventually saves gilly, kills a white walker, saves jorah, etc. Also we don’t know if Bran can warg into a dragon in the shows. And it’s him being the three eyed raven that makes him the most unqualified, he no longer has emotions, he can’t relate to the people, he can’t understand their desires. Bran’s response to “My town has been sacked and my wife was kidnapped” would probably be “So it has been written”. Honestly if there was another season I would bet my money on Bran being evil, the whole being able to see into the past and glimpses of the future so he knows he’ll become King yet not telling anyone what Dany was going to do seems way too weird

I say that season 7, which seems pretty pointless in retrospect, should have been about the fall of the Night King, with season 8 being about how the aftermath of the battle leads to division resuming in the kingdoms. However with the current way the armour is, it’s unrealistically too heavy for a dragon to properly use, so if they are going to have armour, then 1. With the time frame they have it needs to be found 2. It needs to be Valyrian steel from old Valyria because it would make sense they would find it and it’s lighter than normal steel and stronger. The last part is important because if the ballista bolts can explode wood like that, the only thing that could usefully counter them is a strong magical object, I.e Valyrian steel. While none of the dragons had it they can just say they did, as it’s never mentioned in the show that they didn’t.

(And hundreds of millions of dollars to do it- there is no excuse for poor writing at that level in my opinion) I've watched low budget anime with better writing than anything since GoT season 5.
      Anyway, the reason CZcamsrs like Future Me and Alt Shift X constantly make excuses for the writers is so they don't alienate the other group of people who didn't hate the ending or the writers- yes, they exist. (Maybe they just forgot about the mountain of loose ends and unfulfilled plots.. they just like entertainment in general) It's very diplomatic and very polite to give them that much leeway but I totally agree that I wish these CZcamsrs could be a little less objective and allow their personal feelings to come out more. Great cinematography and 'cool moments' do a not a great story make.
      My bottom line is that I'm glad the majority of fans were angry- it is PROOF POSITIVE that this many people were that emotionally invested in a fantasy series! That alone was a win for me but believe me, I completely understand your lack of optimism. The ending sucked, everybody knows it except for those who probably don't understand the difference between Shakespearean drama and Captain Euron Sparrow, pirate of the Caribbean... lol. Try not to loathe too hard- THE BOOKS ARE THE STORY! The sales for book 6 are going to be HUGE now! So many will be clamoring for the real story. :)

      I hope you're including season 5 in that. Season 5 was what broke me. The godawful writing of the Sand Snakes was terrible, but I harboured hope that it was temporary... then came the absolutely retarded decision to have Stannis burn Shireen and I noped the fuck out. Took over a year before I watched a single second of the series again. Season 6 was better by far than season 5 (though still nowhere near the near perfection that was s1-4) but then started going downhill again in s7-8

      I sent HBO an email and told them to lock Dumb and Dumber in a room with Drogon for 5 minutes and air it for all to see. I told them that it would receive more views than the prequel or any other spin-off’s they’re planning COMBINED.... AND that it would be the highest rating in HBO history.

    I like it all, except the ending. I think Dany was obsessed with the Iron Throne, and she would have given anything to have it, even if it meant burning down the Red Keep. She hated Cersei, and the heartbreak from being betrayed by so many of those close to her, including the man she loved, could have been sufficient fuel for the fire (forgive the pun.)

      Dany is obsessed with putting the innocents first more. Dany, time and time again, put off going to Westeros to claim the Iron Throne. In fact, when she came to Westeros, she could have taken King’s Landing with fire and blood but didn’t. I think Dany WOULD commit some atrocities, but never against unarmed innocents.

    This is so bloody brilliant. I feel enlightened, THIS is what GoT could've been... just imagining Dany's fall like that gives me chills. It would've been an EPIC ending! I think the most criminally underused actor this season was Lena Headey and those few lines, especially "No mother is merciful to those who harm her children" would've made their characters for me.

    I would rather let Dany win and have another season where all the post-revolution problems would be at the forefront, given, as you said, Dany's morals and hereditary challenges. Maybe dive into the perspective of the common folk, for once. Kinda like what we saw in Mereen, but, in this western-centric world, now "for real", with universal repercussions radiating from the heart of the setting.
    Curious about where your caring take on it will lead us, tho. Thanks for sharing.

      The story starts with the rise of the white walkers and the death of Jon Arryn, sparking the conflict for the throne. I think it makes sense for the show to end with a resolution to those two plot lines.
      If any more seasons were planned they should have been used to flesh out seasons 5-8 instead of just rushing to the ending.
      A prequel or sequel in this universe would be awesome, but not with the way DnD has handled this franchise.
