Man to this day, I still listen to Alabama to my first songs from Alabama or Dixieland and my favorite song song of the south I did went to Hayes high school Kyle, Texas, and that was our song Dixieland any of you guys are from Kyle give me a thumbs up
I love these guys and this song, I am sure you they miss Jeff. Bless you all, you guys are the ones that got me into like country music. Have a great Christmas and blessed New Year everyone.
One of the best songs ever! I have loved ever since I first heard this song. 🎶 It makes me think of my loved ones that I have lost 😞 and I miss so much. Christmas 🎅 isn’t never going to be the same for me most of my family are in heaven. 🙏❤️🙏
Still beautiful after all these years! Christmas still has a lot of meaning in Dixie even in 2023. I live in Dixie (N.C.) and it is beautiful when it is snowing in the pines. There is nothing better than the rural life!
I started watching this band as a teenager at the Bowery and Magic Attic back in Myrtle Beach. Their tunes mixed with a gentle breeze made the nights unforgettable back in the day.❤
I was living in Mississippi when this song came out, and because I was so homesick for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I never appreciated it either. But now, many years later, I live in mid Missouri, and I get it.
Brings back so many memories! I have love Alabama for years, went to a lot of their concerts in Cincinnati! One of my favorite groups! So good in Concert!
Drove from Anniston (Ala) to 5 of Alabama’s “June Jam’s” in Fort Payne and man o man that was some of the best Saturdays I ever had back in my early 30’s. Also saw them at Jacksonville State University once too…right after they became a big time band. Oh yeah I saw Randy once while driving through Gadsden Ala. We were stopped at a traffic light. To this day not sure why… cause I seldom do it…but while sitting there I turned my head toward the car next to me. I did a double take. Randy looked in my direction at about the same time and I just smiled and with hand resting on top of my steering wheel gave him a thumbs up. He smiled and nodded back at me and sort of waved in what I imagined was a simple gesture of saying “hey thanks for not making a big deal out of it”. I always heard these guys were laid back down to earth country boys…well, there must be some truth to that. Randy was driving an old Chevy and most of the front left fender was covered in rust. What big time celebrity does that…unless they are well grounded in their roots.
I always thought it could never be Christmas till I heard this song. What a classic! Sad I had to search it out this year instead of hearing it on radio. So glad I saw them 20 years ago in Myrtle Beach! Guess Kenny said it best as well with 20 years ago!
Comb me down on the panty stine and sign yo pity on the runny kind. You see my damie pootie tang don't wha da tah to the Shama cow but that's a capa capa leepa chai
I've seen them perform in four different states, including at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City Florida February 2019. That particular show we had the good fortune to see Jeff Cook perform with the group. R.I.P. Jeff.
Saw u guys n person years ago when u frist started out u played at Knox County fair n Knoxville Illinois n n peoria Illinois at the Civil center u put on a good show
A time before the liberal left and the woke movement started to destroy any vestiges of southern culture and the very word “Dixie” from our vocabulary. Even southern culture differs from Appalachia to the sandy coastal beaches to the creole areas of Louisiana. (Before the hate messages start, no I’m not condoning slavery). I’m talking about that area which sees the great migration by many northerners every fall. Snowbirds we call them.
One of the prettiest Christmas songs ever and sang by ONE OF THE GREATEST COUNTRY GROUPS EVER!!
