I don’t blame Mary’s mother for throwing out the letter. Not only did a full grown man write to her daughter but what he wrote could be considered very unsettling to some.
Picking a "favorite thing" about Max's mannerisms is impossible, but I always loved his genuine child-like interest in Mary's life with short, very random questions "Do you have a pet Kangaroo?"
Ooh I like this detail, I see it as how as a high functioning autistic person, and a person that does not mind that he is an aspie, he does not mask his emotions or adjust his facial expressions, he is simply just resting, not concerned by how society views him. I wish I could be like that, sometimes I'm too tired to "mask."
Fr I stopped smiling a few years ago unless I'm actually happy or feel like smiling (sometimes you don't know why) and now I'm told "you look sad you ok?" When I'm in my best moods. If someone's an 'aspie' ask about their mood never assume
This's an animation movie for adults, it's not appropriate for children. The lesson from the movie is, we should spend more time with our children especially in conversations in different kind of topics so when they've any question or any curiosity about something that beyond their age, they can come to us instead of go to their friends or strangers to get the answers.
@@themilkman6969 i think you're both right in a sense, at least child neglect is one of the themes. mary's mom smokes and drinks, and her dad is absent, whereas max's father abandoned him and his mom killed herself at an early age, contributing to his limited understanding of society. both are related to how messed up their lives are, but how they manage to overcome them with their friendship. but yeah, it's not the central focus of the movie
More like…. Learn to be kind and give everyone the chance you’d like to be given. Get the help you need. If you are able. Be able to set healthy boundaries in your relationships. Give second chances after mess ups following genuine remorse. That includes you forgiving yourself and aspiring to do better. *Really try to understand those different to you. And HEAR what they’re telling you, instead of just hearing what you want to hear or try doing what you think is best for them without considering their input. Also be the kind of positive change/person you want to see in the world.
I know people rave on about how good this move is. And it is. But I don't like the animation. Yes, I understand why it looks the way it looks. But to me it is just ugly and unpleasant.

Even though he's very much asexual love is very much foreign to him
Out of all the horrible moms in animation, I'd say she's one of the better of the bunch. She at least SOMEWHAT cares about Mary.
Yeah, and her reaction to that letter was hilarious! 🤣

I love the way he goes "Ooo!"
I like to think that he says those things to make sure Mary has atleast something to respond to every time
@@zib7178 That in itself only makes it sweeter
I've felt like Max my whole life and never understood why
I think you know why.....
Idk if you watched the movie, but if you did, you definitely understand why.
Ass burgers
Why is this animation so underrated?
This is from the movie mary and max, it truly is a work of art. I highly recommend you watch it!
@@Bunniehuhnnie yes that is a good idea
Its stop motion
@@rociolahere6637That's a type of animation.
i like the way the letter and the chocolate still have the same colors Marys part of the movie has
Signifies she's bringing life into his world
Max is too much like me, I too am on the Spectrum and I too understand his struggles
I am autistic as well and I relate to him so much!
Same
Me three
Take care of yall selves and if you can, help an autistic child
Have you also never used a condom? Jkjk
Max is a lovable oaf, but he always has a sad look on him.
That's probably just his resting face

Goodbye Barry.
Thank you for everything mate.
I really like it when max goes Ooooooo
2:20 oooh
Such a great interesting movie because its dark yet somewhat heart-warming
An autistic character who isn't a child/teenager. That's like finding a unicorn. I swear NTs think autistic people disappear after we turn 18.
Sometimes I used to pretend that I was an intergalactical robot 🤖
As did a good majority of boys
We are all like Max 🥹
Sometimes but yea.
PPS I have never used a condom
😂
Well said XD
Why would he mention the condom thing 🤣
Max is not sure how to talk to children
There was a bit cut from this clip that was in the movie. In it he listed all the jobs hes had including working at a condom factory
So Long...Barry xo
I guess the earlier part of the movie took place before the events of september eleventh as the world trade center is in the background
pretty sure the movie itself took place in the 70s-80s
The film takes place from the 70s to 90s
1:37 pov: I get sick of seeing theft king still holding a grudge against Kane on x
I couldn’t understand this as a kid but now everything makes sense and kinda scared me
I hate Thursdays too.

what????? that isnt the message dude did you watch the movie???
That’s certainly A lesson to take from this, but that definitely feels secondary to the intended themes/messages

no he was jewish
He said my father left Me and my mother I'm kibbutz 3:45
@@abdoudahmani1607Believe it or not, Jews live in places other than Israel. New York Cory had a pretty high Jewish population.

The director have a physiological tremor and decided to make his animations uneven and assimetric because of it
