    I’ve had my ultra handheld corded now for about a year, I use it for strictly crown mouldings , Covings and woodwork, one year one it’s still on the same pump, I must have put over 250 Litres of paint through with no problems , I dilute my paints by 5-10% then run at a fairly low pressure , what’s vital is and where a lot of people go wrong is cleaning, I think the main reason these don’t last for people is because they simply don’t do the required maintenance, once I clean it out I put about 50ml of pump armour through then once a week I get it back out and reapply pump armour, this isn’t an everyday sprayer but used under the correct conditions it can last you a while and it’s payed for itself now around 10 times

      I completely agree with you. I have the corded version and I've used it for small projects like doors and chairs all the way to large projects like painting garages (doors and siding). It's been a great gun and worth its money. Just clean it right and armour it for storage.

      The trick is to use warm to hot water with a palm full of cheap laundry powder, this helps remove waterbase paint removing filter is a must do each time used ,then flush with water and finish with pump Saver, don't wear it out spraying ltrs of water to clean use the soapy warm water . I've painted whole internals of houses when there's no power,I just hit out 12 doors and 6 rooms just the cornice, yes not for use everyday but they can save so much time/ money when used correctly .spray wd40 on tip and gaurd prior , makes paint removal easy.

      A lot of people buy it and do walls with it too, until the pump (£$180) burns out... Ouch
      Every time the system overheats and cuts out you are cutting the pumps life short. I learned that the hard way too - now I have a wagner 250m, and I use the Graco Ultra for woodwork jobs (doors, windows & small jobs)

    Hey Chris!
    I picked up the Ultra from SW last year to paint some doors and trim. It worked great. I squeezed out 12 doors and some trim with little effort. First time spraying and they came out great! It was about $350 so I couldn’t pass it up. If it breaks now no biggy- cheaper than hiring someone.

    as a previous painter it looks like it could be handy at times but must say flat doors like those are much easier to roll out than masking off everything or having to cover up the over spray with a few coats of paint. i believe this would work great for panel doors or crown molding.. good review though, appreciate it..

    If you are using a water based product you can simply take the cup off and turn it upside down under a faucet (preferably a shop sink) leave the water running and prime for a second then continue to spray until it comes out clear. Cleanse in half the time. Also when you prime just know water will come out of the little hole that recirculates so be sure and cup your hand over so you dont shoot water up in the air.

    I had the battery version that didn’t shoot hot solvents (TrueCoat VS) These guns are ok for smallish jobs - maintenance guy wanting to paint a few doors, cover up graffiti, etc. I used the sprayer to paint WRC picket fence boards. It took two coats using Cabot solid stain and I back brushed the product. I went through 5 gallons and the unit held up well. It does have a narrow use application. You must have diluted the product. Graco support will tell you to strain the product to avoid clogs, which makes the spray sputter. The cups come in larger sizes, but you have to buy them. I purchased a second cup to rinse the system out adding a few drops of dawn liquid soap. Warm water helps clean out the unit quicker, but to get the unit spotless clean takes time 15-25 minutes. The Graco hand held unit should be able to paint a bedroom out, but not on ha frequent basis. I would say no more than a few times a year. It’s not the right gun to shoot an interior of a 3 bedroom house. Did you get your bible verses mixed up with tip sizes?

      Shaun Johnson So I have owned this graco ultramax cordless sprayer since May 18 of 2019.
      I have maybe put three to four gallons of paint thru this device.. Now I have bought the solvent type model to spray oil based and varnishes. I have not, repeat have not ran oil based paint thru the device .
      The sprayer now will not spray anywhere near what it used to. I called tech support on the box (they have number on boxwhen you buy the unit new) I called the number and told them what was happening. So it turns out the seal between lid and flex liner cup ( 32oz. ) Is not making a tight seal enough to create a vacuum . So the person on the phone says your pump is fine your unit works. Yes, but its not spraying properly. However they said the lid on the cup is a wear part and can be bought at home depot or lowes. I said so I have to replace lid everytime I run 2 to 4 gallons ? He didn't state , but continued to say that's a wear part. You can buy it at hardware store or where ya bought it. I told him I bought it on amazon. He didnt care but.. my issue is, This unit is the solvent model. Oil based paint is much more harsh , on products and equipment. How can this seal hold up ? Its not holding up to water based paint how will it last.? Its not going to.
      I have been to evey home depot or lowes in my area. (Seattle) no lid no flex liner cage replacement anywhere. The liners I can find but the lid that screws over the flex liner to keep air out is no longer effective, making the cordless sprayer useless.
      These units run around $750.00 its exspensive !.. The unit does not last. Its not reliable, no replacment parts and the tech service was useless. By the way I replaced the black air valve for bleeding air out. This part is given with the unit as an extra, actually they give you two in the kit w the sprayer. But they do not give a new gasket or lid with the flex liner cup system, which is vital to using the sprayer. I cannot find a replacment part for the lid anywhere. graco support says you can buy the part cause its a "wear part " . Basically saying we dont cover or replace vital parts that make the unit work properly, "wear part"
      I had high expectations for this ultramax cordless sprayer, given the price and brand graco. I no longer have faith in this sprayer anymore. I dont do painting for a living but bought this spayer to do small jobs around my home and cabin. I cant Imagine having this tool to depend on for a professional painter.
      10/14/19. Update I have replaced flex liner system, cup and lid. The sparyer is not working properly. After 5 months.. Maybe 3 or 4 gallons of latex paint. This sparyer does not hold up well. I called customer service again. They want a receipt copy and they will send out a new pump. So to sum it all up.. pump failure with very little use. I keep it clean always after use.
      So I will get a new pump, install it and hope the cordless sprayer can put out 5 more gallons before another pump failure ?? .... Ok.

      @LostInDistance Před 4 lety +12

      Miguel Moreno Sorry to hear this, you can replace the pump system easy enough yourself which I can almost guarantee you is the issue here. I work for a company called Spray Direct. You can google the company and find the replacement part needed. Once you’re on the website and on the search bar type, 17P187. That’s the main pump needed for the handheld Ultramax. “Solvent based” If its the Ultra pump replacement you require, then it’s 17P186. “Water based” Or you can send it in to us and I can sort it for you with a quick turnaround for you Miguel.

But please consider Jacob is Israel and Israel is Jacob and he had been dead a long time before the days of Isaiah the prophet. This is written for his children (The children of Israel) and is applicable for "They that wait upon the Lord." (v.31) Remember we are the "Israel of God" (Galatians 6:16) through the mystery of the gospel according Ephesians 3:6 NIV "This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus." • @AngelicOutcry
      @AngelicOutcry Před 4 lety +2

      One other note:
      Mine became so undependable, it has set on a shelf ever sense it's like 7th use. I can't trust it to accomplish a task so it's benched from duty. In reality I'm hoping this is just a starting point for Graco. I pray they pursue improving upon its design. Personally I'd lose the idea it needs to spray upside down and go with a simple cup system like my homelite sprayer. It's extremely dependable and cleans quick and easily. Less moving parts so to speak. Currently my Graco is not the easiest thing to prepare for painting and it's a bit involved to get lock and loaded. Even worse is the clean up process is frustrating. With that said note though I "LOVE"my Graco products as I own every thing from most of their available attachments, guns, numerous sprayers, and even a Line Lazer. Great company, great products, this one's in need of a redesign in my opinion.
