@@fatman3785Very true! i only drive a van, not a lory, and i'm always super careful reversing due to not having a rear window, but it's crazy how many people will think nothing of just stopping and having a conversation while standing directly behind the van as i'm trying to reverse, or while i'm actively moving they'll run across the back of the van rather than wait a few seconds. I always make sure to rev a little bit to give as much audible warning that i'm reversing, while going as slow as possible, but i swear some people are actively trying to get hit
True, vehicle with odd positioning - wait to see what they're doing. I didn't see hazards which would have been helpful as then it's obvious. If they're on, they're not very good!

I honestly feel like watching these videos makes me more aware when I'm driving. I'm fully expecting idiots on a roundabout, or people pulling out in front of me!
At least half of most dashcam compilations arise from someone either undertaking or overtaking on a roundabout. Plenty of them in this compilation too.

On the other hand cammer sees hgv signalling right and then decides to shut the space down. I think this is not the best solution particularly as cammer is already too close to vehicle ahead and surrounded by very large vehicles.

His vids are legendary on Robin Hood Dash Cams - over reacts to everything and drives a wheezy jag x-type. He's obviously started adjusting his cam to not see the figurehead on the bonnet but the "fkin idiot" is unmistakeable

@jezp1976 overhead signs are not clear, but it's obviously 4 lanes going into 4 lanes - the van driver never crossed into a different lane
this video more then most on this channel has just annoyed me, so many of the drivers will either send in minor issues or are not slowing down when a hazard appears. theres a few which even speed up and blare the horn as they go past. People make mistakes sure, but alot of these are small issues which would be nothing more then an inconvenience if the cammer didn't speed on in making a small incident into a larger one.
Always the same every episode; I think some are desperately trying to create a clip to upload, which is insane!

It could be that Kerry submitted the clip to show the stupidity of the driver in front who just had to squeeze past the truck.

This shows she wants past, is closing down the area for the truck to manouver yet she is trying to offer the truck driver as being wrong.... Seriously learn to view the road around and not just what shit you get fed.

BMW @ 3:00 is obviously unsure of their route. At least they were using their indicators.
I was looking for this comment. I agree, the BMW driver shows all signs that they are unsure of their route. Some of us leave our neighbourhood and travel to other places we don't live in, the cammer should try it, but then maybe not with the completely inexcusable and dangerous undertake at speed in wet conditions... maybe the cammer could take some lessons on driving and life from the BMW driver...?
@@billyskoda6839not being familiar with your route and surroundings is not an excuse for how the BMW was driving. definitely driving without due care and attention. once they were in the left slip roads they must follow it through if there are vehicles behind using their desired lane. bmw needs to retake their test.
@michaelh7741 unfortunately Michael, I would disagree as a retired Sussex Police area car driver. Their driving did not fall below the standard of a reasonable and careful driver. I make mistakes, to err is human. To not expect this is a greater danger, to not anticipate it equally so, and to undertake at speed in less than ideal conditions is what I would classify as Driving: Careless and Inconsiderate. The cammer exhibited no appreciation of the driver in front and no appreciation of the conditions that they were driving in.
@billyskoda6839 sorry but thats absolute bullshit. What the bmw did was not acceptable. If youre not sure where youre going then stop and find out. DO NOT drive around clearly unsure of which lane to be in. The cam car had every right to move past the driver and they werent going that fast either
@michaelh7741 I get it. You're perfect, and we all must avoid making a mistake when you're around. Got it. The undertake at speed, past a driver who is having trouble in wet conditions, that's clearly appropriate and a sign of a competent driver. I tend not to swear and it evidences a significant lack of adequate vocabulary. Please don't ever turn up at the Nordschleife when I'm there, or if you do, please let me stay off track. If you believe the cammers behaviour is appropriate in any way, then you're not part of either the solution or the background.
7:20 is there more that happened before the video started? People don't just drive like that for no reason?
That is what I get from these "clips." There has been a prior incident, or the reckless idiot was instigated prior to the start, so the cammer could get a clip! I have even seen cars in front of me with a cam, speeding up to cause a problem, and I thought they wanted a "clip" to post wherever they post them! It's like they feel superior having a little camera in their cars!
Would be useful to hear the uploader's side! It's odd if nothing had happened prior - but some drivers are just nuts...
It started just after Spitfire Island in Birmingham, wacky races around there. Something 10000% happened.
Not sure watching a video of a maniac on the road prompts you to assume there’s a back story that the cammer instigated it. Almost every other clip is innocent people driving around no?
@louiem9382 Nope, you don't just randomly start driving like that. There has got to be a more to that clip... I have witnessed the same thing, and the car behind was in the wrong in the first place, then the other driver overreacted like the idiot in this clip!

Submitter here, both didn't do great, but the Fiat 500 driver stopped on a clear roundabout to take a phone call (you can see this clearer in HD and in fullscreen), I assume the Ford driver saw them do this as well and lost patience

Couldn't see the road markings or signs on approach to the roundabout, but at 8:18 it looks like the cammer was trying to turn right from a left hand lane.
Thought the same, if your in that lane you take the first or second exit.

Both lanes turn right, WA14 4TP, smaller of the 2 roundabouts.
I just looked at the roundabout on google maps (53.366094, -2.385611) and the left lane does go right.
Small roundabout south of Bowdon Roundabout at the A556/A56. Left lane is marked for A56 - which is 'third' exit (first exit is a dead end). Cammer was fine, other car tried to get onto the A556 from the lane marked A56 only.
6:07 . Yes car lacks lane disciplines. But speeding up towards and along side doesn't help . Just slow down drop back and relax. Better for you .

The full description was "HGV follows too close nearly swipes mx5"
The full issue was the HGV was tailgating the Taxi and when the Taxi slowed to allow a BWM on to the Dual Carriageway the HGV instead of Slowing down (taxi could have slammed on) decided to swerve into the passing lane nearly taking out the MX5. Luckily the mx5 driver avoided the HGV.
Could've all been avoided if the BMW had waited at the give way line and more importantly, if the HGV would have kept a safe following distance.

First clip; Handy Cross at High Wycombe.... That place has been an evil junction ever since the M40 was built. It's been "improved" to cope with the eternal traffic congestion, but has become way more complicated. The lane the van was in is quite legitimately either for the A4010 towards Aylesbury OR the next exit to the Cressex industrial estate. If that biker had ANY sense, he would not have been doing that speed, and would have been able to avoid the van.

As usual a lot of people self snitching in the comment section that they don’t know some roundabouts have non typical layouts. HWC even has “unless signs or markings indicate otherwise” highlighted above the generic lane choices so you’d think that would clue people in to the fact that this may have been a non-standard layout.

I just found it on Google maps, it's the A61, known locally as Park Road going north through Worsbrough to Barnsley. Last I checked A class roads were not classed as residential streets! Besides, residential streets don't tend to have middle turning lanes either.
You are right on the speed limit though, it is indeed 30mph along that stretch due to passing through a built up area.

3:40 pretty sure the hgv cut into the overtaking lane just as it comes into view, cutting up the "tailgater"
Unfortunately the video title was used which is a shorter description.
The more complete explanation was that the HGV was tailgating the Taxi when it slowed to let a BMW onto the dual carriageway (can't tell if the taxi slammed on).
Instead of staying behind the taxi he decided to swerve into the passing lane and cut off the mx5 with very little space for the mx5 to react, really surprised this didn't end up in a 3-4 car collision.
It was also the HGV blasting it's horn as if he wasn't the one mostly at fault for following too close.

@@Potts1966To be fair, you are spot on. Literally yesterday, I had a BMW driver use a straight only lane at a roundabout, and cut across me to turn right. In typical BMW fashion, he didn't even bother indicating!!! He went over the line at first, which I thought was standard going for that roundabout, so I know to expect it, but he decided to just turn instead.

I use this roundabout frequently and because of its layout, you can use the inside lane to go right. (It’s more to do with how the road lays out once you turn right.)
The Suzuki driver should have used the inside lane also. One can only guess the cammer was or should’ve been indicating though.

True, I get the issues that HGV drivers have but some 'Armed Forces' Spacing' would help them in all sorts of situations. No one in a heavy vehicle should be this close to others.
I haven't driven since i passed my test in 018, even i still know how you signal depending on which exit you take on roundabouts. Watching this makes me think it was a good idea not to keep driving.
I remember on one channel @DjNikGnashers was trying to plead the case for SheMW drivers - I think she needs to watch this video and think again!

c) they're always on insane schedules so are rushing like loonies.

How many times has it been said on these dashcam channels to stay staggered whilst using a roundabout. Most of these minor incidents could then be avoided.

Amber doesn't mean stop. All amber means is it's about to turn red. Up to the driver if they go through or not.

The UK law, being "The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016", says
"An amber signal, when shown alone, conveys the same prohibition as red, except that, as respects any vehicle which is so close to the stop line that it cannot safely be stopped without proceeding beyond the stop line, it conveys the same indication as the green signal which was shown immediately before it."
If you didnt know that then get off the road now and get some more theory lessons, quickly.
What worries me even more is that so many people seem to think the same as you.
Inadequate time to safely stop? That would be an extremely abrupt stop, especially given their attention on the erratic vehicle in front.
As for the speed limit - 2.25mph is pretty much margin of error reading a speedo, again especially while attention is on another factor.
