When I was 16 and didn't know what i wanted to do with my life I came across this video. I ended up going to college for costume technology, i'm 22 now and moved to New York where I'm working as a draper/pattern maker. I've made costumes for Cardi B, Doja Cat, Little Nas X, and many more. I'm so blessed and I really think it all started after seeing this video and deciding "Barbara is amazing, this is exactly what I want to do". Was feeling nostalgic and wanted to come back and rewatch :')

Wow 2 weeks to learn the part that sounds crazy! How do they learn all their lines for a 3 hour show in such little time?!
The Wicked costumes are breathtaking. I never noticed Morrible's costume transformation before. Incredible!
Kathy FItzgerald was wonderful as Madame Morrible. Saw her on Broadway, then saw her on tour and then she was back on Broadway again. I love to watch her work. Of course, I could be kind of prejudiced since she is my amazingly talented stepdaughter!

Unbelievable that an actor/actress can learn their lines in only two weeks! Thank you for sharing.
I couldn't imagine joining a show and having just one rehearsal before it goes on.
I went on this tour when I was in NY last year and LOVED it. The two guys who created the tour obviously love the show and it was so lovely to get a small glimpse of the behind the scenes.

This was wonderful. I love costumes, theater and especially "Wicked". This show and these costumes inspired me to register to a course about making theatre costumes, I hope to get in.
God, this show has such gorgeous costumes! It's no wonder there's such a change when the actors get to wear them for the first time...this is so breathtaking.

Couldn't have said it better myself- a costume really does make all the difference. It truly is the easiest way to get into character.
Do Glinda's costumes. I really want to know how they made that 1949 Dior Junon inspired dress. I'm making one for halloween.

Madame Morrible reminds me of Lady Tremaine ( Cinderella's evil stepmother in the animated version) they have a similar look.

QUESTION on costumes for dancing to pop music: Can costume designers adjust skirt length and material weight to tune a skirt's sway to the right frequency? In this video of the same dancer dancing in 3 cos-play costumes, I notice the natural swaying frequency of the orange skirt is the same as the beat of the music, unlike the blue and purple skirts. So when in the orange costume, the dance performance looks better than in the other two costumes.

Barbara Matera LTD. I use to work there. There no longer exsist. They closed their doors in January of 2011, I believe.
