I visited it and it is such a beautiful place with lot of history behind
I love the place, it is so mesmerizing. I also love the fact, that at 9: 00 at night, it's still light outside!!!!
Thank you for taking us along on your tour of Mont St Michel. Love your Drone aerial shot of the outside.🤙😎
Another great video and again Kevin and the drone videos are so cool. I just love you guys and your videos. I wish I had the energy it takes to do what you guys are doing, keep it us and be safe.
Thanks Dean, We really like to travel and make the videos, If we didn't love it so much we probably wouldn't be doing it the way that we have been
It is an incredible place! I was there in January 1980 with a group of twenty from my college. We were the only people in there. It was fabulous!
Holy crap that is awesome monastery
Beautiful place. We spent the night there on one of our visits to France.
This video was majestic!
Thank you!
Been to Omaha but didn’t think to stop here.. absolutely beautiful
It was a good hour and a half away from Omaha, Easily overlooked, but well worth it
Such an amazing place ❤❤
It really is!
Great video you guys. I can't believe there are still remnants of the so long ago still around
I know, right? The 8th century is sooo long ago
I recommend that next time you visit MSM go to Genet and view the sunset . No crowds and the view is the best. It is 5kms away so if its raining you may not see anything.
Thanks for the advice, We will have to check that out next time
How should I look up Genet on Google maps? I tried but a bunch of different locations turned up in the search result.
There are crowds! What you talkin?
Great destination tip. I’ve always wanted to check it out. Next up, Bora Bora. Thanks for blazing the trail.
Nice! Have a great trip!
Need to go there
Lol such a great vlog. (love the bloopers). Next time try Sy Malo. It will blow your mind, the history, the ambience, the food, the sea, the beaches, just superb. loads of hotels and b&b's to choose from. Have had many holidays in or near St Malo, it is a bit nearer from the UK where I am, but its well worth a weeks holiday.
I just googled it! Wow! St. Malo looks incredible! Thanks for the recommendation!
I want to go there sooooo bad!!! Thank you for this!
Go to Medjugorje too in Bosnia. Youll be amazed! You have to stay a week or at very least 3. Days but longer the better.
Love all your videos thank you xo
Thanks for the tips! We will have to check that out when we get to Bosnia!
Really great video ☺️💯
Thank you 🙌
I love it! I wish I t were mine I’d live there! Been to France twice but didn’t make it here unfortunately
It's definitely off the beaten path, but a really cool place to see!
Love this. Thank you. When were you there? I’m trying to figure out the clothing makes it look like winter but the long sunset seems like summer?
We visited in Early May
Cool drone video! Drones allowed there? Going next week
My only trip to Europe had us arriving in Paris on July 13. Of course, July 14 is Bastille day, and that was truly impressive with the huge military parade, the fly overs, and of course, the amazing fireworks from the Eifel Tower. Then on to Brugge, Belgium. Found myself standing in front of the only statue by Michael Angelo that is NOT in Italy. (holy mackerel, that guy knew his way around a piece of marble.). Beautiful city. Then on to Gent to find we arrived just in the middle of the Gent Jazz festival. Way cool, super fun. Rounded out the trip at Bastone. Lovely little town, the people were fantastic and the tour of the military base and tank museum was top notch. St Michel is on the "hit list" for our next trip! Thanks for the great video!
Sounds like you had an amazing trip this time around! Hope you can make it to Mont Saint Michel next time. We might have to go back to hit some of the spots you mentioned!
Hello nice video, Can you recall the name of the farm you stop to take pictures with the sheep in the foreground and the island in the background? Nice shoot there.
It is right across the street from the Auberge de la Baie hotel, We parked in that hotels parking lot (actually I think the hotel is closed now)
How can we get there if traveling via public transport ?
Thanks from Oz (Australia)
Thanks for watching!
Leaving for France tomorrow, will be staying in Normandy for two days and will be visiting there...Have family that live there,so my days are all planned..
Have a great trip!
Thank you for the information also great vlog we are visiting here tomorrow, we also subscribed to show our support take care guys
Awesome! Thank you! Mont Saint Michel is a really beautiful place, you will have a great time!
Great personalities, great video! We are Rick Steve's fans but were looking for an updated video as we plan our next trip to Europe. Thank you for this!
You're welcome. Rick Steves is the man!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I'm planning to go in a month. How was the drive from Omaha Beach to MSM?
It's good. Not too far at all, Maybe 1.5 hours?
hi guys!.. this is another spot we need to visit again now with kids.. vs our honey.. we have some ideas to replicate photos from 2001vs today.
And I thought Mostar, B&H was out of a Fairy Tail (anime pun intended!) but I guess Mont St. Michel is the real fairy tale location lmao. Really seems like an amazing place with top-notch century's-old architecture and fun things to do here
I loved your video...thank you for making it! Please confirm for me as I have found conflicting info online... You mentioned a walkway built a few years ago allowing people to walk from the shuttle to the island. Some info I find online says you cannot get on MSM during high tide. Or is it just the bay that is not accessible? Please help...going in April and I'd like to make sure I don't get stuck waiting for low tide to come. Every moment counts :)
Thanks so much! The Road /Walkway that they built a few years ago made it so you can access the island at any tide level. (before this, you had to worry about the tide coming in, but no longer) The only way you would get stuck with the tide now, Is if you ventured out into the sand surrounding the island and it came in, keeping you from returning to the island and the road back
where exactly is that river at @1:20
Would love to do a photo op there
How were you guys able to get drone footage?! I thought it was strictly prohibited.
Thank you for the video did anyone question you on flying your drone?
We did it pretty low key, any no one said anything
I think I heard that King Arthur went here. That’s kinda cool if he was real. He killed a giant
Farting dogs 😂
We do have a chihuahua and it`s a lot of hilarious signs around the world of what they can do with drawings and the text to it.
Haha, We thought that one was pretty funny
How can I find the sheep field? I would love to visit the field before going to MSM when Im visiting next month.
Park at Auberge de la Baie Hotel (it's closed) the sheep field is directly across the street through a fence
Trying to set up a plan for a Honeymoon Trip to France and want to venture out of Paris. Was thinking to take an early train from Paris to Caen or maybe Bayeux, rent a car and check into a hotel. From there head out to see the Normandy beaches and Mont Saint-Michel and head back to hotel. It may have been to early to have check in earlier, so we would check in at this point. Hoping to do this in a day based on time we will have. The next day, we would head back to Paris. Does this sound like a good plan or underestimating anything here? Any advice would be appreciated based on your experience.
You could do technically do it in a day, but it would be a LONG DAY. Mont Saint Michel is 1.5 hours from Bayeux, so right there you have 3 hours of driving and you'll want at least a couple hours to explore. As for The Normandy Beaches, it really depends on how much you want to see. We spent 2.5 days exploring the ww2 sites and still didn't see everything. I think it could be done though, If you just chose one like Utah beach and then went to Mont St. Michel. In my opinon though, two days would be better. Or maybe go to mont saint michelle the first day, and then check out of your hotel on the second day and go see the normandy beaches, then catch a late train back to Paris. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have more questions.
Do they have a Walmart or McDonald's?
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Is drone allowed near zig zag river bank??
Hey I have a question
Are you allowed to fly the drone near Mont Saint Michel?
No, unless you got the permission from the local Prefecture.
2km walk from parking area to mt st Michel?
Was it illegal to fly a drone here during your visit? I read articles some people got arrested for flying drones here.
If it was, we never saw any notices or signs
it just looks like something that's not real, must be amazing to experience it live video and pics prob don't do it justice
It was a really cool place to see in person. Wandering around the streets was really fun too

GOD IS AWESOME ✝️
Too bad you hurried through the Mont. have been twice and spent the night the second time. My daughter got engaged on the bridge that night.
That's super cool! We wished we had more time but we had a pretty aggressive itinerary this trip
@@TheAwkwardTourists that you did! We love the Normandy are as well! My dad landed on Omaha Beach and it was a real somber experience for me to go there the first time. Love the history too.
"It looks like something Disney would make..." 😅
Le seul problème avec le mont Saint Michel c'est que maintenant c'est trop touristique et il y a beaucoup trop de touristes
Supposedly, this was the inspiration of Gondor in Lord of the Rings. Did you see anything remotely the resembled Lord of the Rings?
Do you know what time do the sheep eat there? 😂
Those sheep are eating all the time...haha. They seemed to be grazing all day long.....at least when we were there
@@TheAwkwardTourists Hey finally i went there. It was very windy that we struggled a lot while taking our photos 🤣 Apart for that, it is a very beautiful place and yes there were sheep. 😊
How do you get to the sheep farm if traveling via public transport ?
Haters gunna hate
they definitely argue daily
?
The Abbey has Masses, not services.
Ok. Do you feel better about yourself
@@TheAwkwardTourists Yes, I do.
Never say that galettes are from normandy lol they are from britanny and if you see the opposite its not good lol
👍🏼 noted!
not really anything we needed to know like any hotels?
We didn't stay on the island so not sure about hotels there, but we did try to include information like: Parking, Shuttles, Managing the tide, Hours of the Abby, Restaurant availability, What is in the town, and accessibility for people who have trouble with walking uphill /upstairs
How deep is it when the tide in in 👣
Too deep to walk across
its a mirror to st Michaels in Cornwall . Look it up , but the one in France is better .
St Michaels in Cornwall was built by french monks from the same congregation of Mont Saint Michel, that's why they did something similar with same name.
