Ningning is literally pulling a Wendy, where as now they are both good enough to be a lead dancer. And ningning is still a rookie, its crazy that SM doesn't modify/give positions once they are established. Aespa fighting

ning ning reminds me of jennie from bp and wendy from rv. she's more of a performer, another reason as to why she has the best stage presence out of aespa.

Ningning has definitely improved since debut, with more experience in the industry she’ll be even better at dancing😌
Karina coordination is 8.5/10, I’ve noticed that her steps are not messy but she gives each move she does her time to shine, for ex : not skipping a step and leaves a good coordinated step, her arm and leg control is always matched
As for Winter and NingNing, In the showcase I think Winter did better but for the dance practice I think NingNing did better.

The rankings are heavily based on the dance practices (but I take other stages into consideration).

Ningning shows a lot of potential in body control and dynamics. She also seems to have the best sense of groove in the group. I hope she can expand on these skills sets. I hope she can improve on her lower body area since she is very weak at controlling and coordinating that part. Winter stills lacks dynamics and texture since she moves like a textbook. Her sense of shape and angles are good. She have no issues with coordination. I hope Winter can take advantage of her angles. Karina did improve a lot although her hip coordination is still weird. I really like how Karina is very clean and her footwork and groove surprised me. Giselle improved although I want her to expand on power regardless of the mistakes.

Karina may not be one of the best dancer of this generation but her isolation, footwork, and locks are way above anyone topping even Seulgi in such departments.
It’s funny because Seulgi lacks in the parts where Karina is the best. Seulgi is a sharp dancer and Karina a fluid dancer. That would’ve been interesting if they were in the same group not just Got
I would agree karina has less control than seulgi but has better power, fluidity, and footwork, also less tension. While seulgi has a stiff torso with precise arms and a better sense of style and facials. (At least for step back performances) I think Karina out performed seulgi in step back but a lot of people won’t admit it cause bias.
karina is one of the best dancer of this generation. she's better than itzy's two lead dancers + she's better than chaeryeong and on pair with yeji in open style dancing.

Although there are mistakes and imperfections in this dance practice, you could clearly tell that this dance style suits Aespa the most. All of them shines in this.

2:49 i realized that Ningning was the only one who made this step right, the hip movement follows the same as the arm movement, one to the right and two to the left

Actually, Giselle was the only one to not make this step right. Winter and Karina made this right too. But after all, I'm not a professional dancer, I'm not even a dancer. That's just an observation.
@@krystalkiss5050 Karina was smooth but it felt weird. Winters execution was ok, but I didn't think it was enough to get highlighted (I don't highlight if it's a decent execution). I still don't know why I didn't pick Ningning. The combo of bounce and isolation was brilliant.

2:49 I feel like Giselle has a bit of a problem with remembering her moves, it’s definitely something she needs to work on, especially here. While they aren’t totally coordinated, Giselle misses the “re-grab” move altogether and is moving the wrong direction in comparison to the other members. I’ve seen this a lot with her and hope she will work on it.

Hi guys. I've been watching the dance practice a million times. It's way too catchy and I can't stop.
Let's talk about the girls:
1. Karina: Am I the only one who notice her questionable hip coordination? It's hard to explain it, but it looks off. I also wanted to give her a higher score in footwork, but this time, it wasn't the best.
Anyways, Karina has always been great at applying power, has great timing, and executes full out. Good job :)
2. Ningning: Never thought she would rank this high, but she really nailed that dance! Her energy was great, no major timing issues, strong upper body execution, and I must say, she has probably the most natural bounce in the group. It helped her stand out. But the footwork wasn't the smoothest. I gave her a 6 at the beginning, but I noticed that she did in fact catch more details than the others. She really improved
3. Winter: Her and Ningning are interchangeable imo. She got consistent line awareness, great timing, clean arm execution etc. But just like Ningning, her footwork was underwhelming.
4. Giselle: This was probably her best performance so far! Still some basic coordination and timing issues, but other than that, she did great :)

@@aescvlt I've been wondering the same thing. They both seem to be lacking in the same area (basic coordination, timing issues, strength), so I don't really know
really the work of her hips is weird. moving hips is not a difficult thing, any dude can do it, dancer or not. I don't know if it's her choice or some other reason, it's as if she was deliberately avoiding the one particular move. i mean, the trainer saw it and didn't tell her anything? she could do it sloppy or with other flaws, but the problem is, she doesn't even try.
karina i think just needs to build more body awareness. she has control and capability for isolation in her hips and torso, but sometimes she doesnt know how to coordinate them in a certain direction.
ningning's torso control imo is the best. she has her moments of inconsistency but shes the only one who does waves well and completes isolations. not to mention, her torso musicality is impressive (black mamba ning called!)
(winter and giselle both did great. ill also mention giselle had good angles at times, she has a lot of potential there.)
Her footwork was the best along the members, the others have good footwork but it’s not sharp enough, also they don’t control their hips and upper body as much as karina does
2:50 : karina, the best details & fluidly, good body control, clean edges
2:30 : karina, the best head thing, the best lower body control, detailed head move + didn’t move her upper body
2:55 : ningning + karina, however ning had to move her whole body to do a torso wave and when you do body rolls and torso wave only ur torso/ upper body should move, karina didn’t do that but ningning had smoother step, karina had cleaner one
0:40 : karina, sharp and detailed hand step, controlled her hips with sharpness while doing hand step so that the focus will go only on her hand step
1:02 : disagree, could be karina or giselle but not winter, even if it’s smooth and relaxed but as what I can notice that her leg & arm didn’t have the same control & energy, it was a bit slippy, while karina and giselle had relaxed torso but controlled leg move especially karina
1:16 : karina, and this is why, her right leg is frozen and her upper body only moving as you guys can see the details in her right leg too, her sharp edges, powerful turn, her left leg turn was the cleanest
1:50 : karina & ningning especially karina, the bounce was so clean and powerful, clean footwork, ningning the same but it seemed more like she’s jumping not bouncing and that’s different
great observations! Loved your input. And yeah you don't have to agree with my highlights. It's simply based on my own perspective/observation, and I do like when someone has a different view, just like you :)

For footwork karina is obviously not 8, especially when you gave other member a bit less than her, footwork is 9, she has clean and sharp footwork steps + she doesn’t leave her hips or upper body separated when having a good footwork
I see. I should probably change the name of the criteria (I look at the whole lower body execution, so my mistake), but many people seem to understand that I don't only talk about the footwork itself.

I know ningning is vocal line, but what she all the details she has is so dancer line things. She doesn't look like it but she's underrated in dance.

I guess it's the choreo part of the song but only Winter executed the step properly, at 0:54 you can see Winter was the only one whose torso and shoulders weren't stiff. But overall all of them improved except for that minor detail I noticed.

Even though Giselle have a few great steps we can clearly see she improved alot. In pandemic days in Blackmamba i used to feel embarrassed when she dance because it lacks energy and swag that you clearly notice when they perform but now you hardly see her dance off to the 3 that you can't say she's a Bad dancer.

I don't understand your analysis and rating. All I know is that Winter's performance onstage in LA was the most appealing to look at when they performed Illusion there. Her hip rotations, her dramatic walks forward and backwards, and most of her movements looked more appealing than Karina's movements to me. This was reflected in the comments section too. And normally I prefer Karina's dancing - especially in the Savage camera work guide for example.
winter is a good dancer she just sometimes lacks basic things. i think ningning and karina did better here and winter did better at the showcase

Apparently, the girls were supposed to move as one during the hip rotation part (they were synchronized doing that move during their la showcase).

Winter definitely did a lot better during the stage performance, I wish you could've taken that in account as well. Also disagree with your assessment on 0:15 winter's arm angles and hand movements seemed a lot more precise and accurate, I'd also give winter a higher point on upper body control and coordination than ningning
It's okay. I wanted to give Winter a higher grade, but Ningnings coordination seemed a little more natural. Winter did great at 0:15, but Ningning stood out with her timing

i do think winter does the choreo moderately well but it wouldn’t make sense to focus on a performance rather than the official dance practice video at all
i wish they’d get better choreographies honestly and i know they’re supposed to be a vocal focused group but i feel like the choreos hold them back sometimes.

I have a question, if you have to rank overall Karina dance skills amoung itzy (exclude Lia) what would be her ranking ?
I ask this question because sometime people put her above Ryujin or/and Yuna and sometime under them
Hmm that's hard, because Karina is a tricky case.
I just made a list to see their differences.
Karina and Ryujin have some similiarities (strong locks, texture, arm control, musicality etc)
Karina has a slightly stronger sense of musicality and footwork, but has stiff torso and some alignment issues. Ryujin does not have a stiff torso. She just doesn't utilize them.
According to me the ranking would look like this
1. Chae
2. Yeji
3. Karina/Ryujin
4. Yuna

@@psychorious also i want to ask somenthing about her, regarding of the fews solo dances that she had (predebut, MAMA, Knowing Brothers) i feel like the choreographies don't suit her, i mean as a non dancer i can see that she have dance skills (in my opinion she seem to have very good isolation and sharp moves for exemple) fo but the choreographies that she had make her look dancing weird or kind of not well executed over all

@@NingKook_ Oh I have the same opinion. They didn't suit her.
As far as I know, she doesn't have any dance background, meaning she probably started learning how to dance when she got accepted into SM. If you're completely new, it will take some time to build up your skills. She spent 4 years training, which is enough time to develope your technique, so she has improved little by little.
I also heard someone mention that she was not MEANT to be the main dancer, but since their original main dancer "forfeited" Karina got the position.
Looking at her past, I get why she might've felt hesitant (not confident) in her dance skills, and as you've probably noticed, she received a lot of backlash for her dancing. Even if she showcased some of her dance covers on MAMA, Knowing brother etc, I believe she has always been thinking about the potential hate she would get in the public eye, and that's also probably why there's little content from her.
So, I believe the reasons why she did not fit those dance covers, are because she hasn't found her own style yet and her overall technique isn't fully developed.
If she finds the right choreography, she would have more confidence.
Everything I've said is just a speculation or a theory, meaning it's not accurate.
In term of ranking, how would you rank the girls? So far I’ve seen Winter and Ningning being close
1. Karina: great footwork, power, energy, extended movement and arm control :)
2. Winter: Clean body isolation and alignment. I was extremely impressed by her execution during savage and next level. Although she can add more "energy", improve her footwork and groove, it is clear to me that she covers the basic fundementals (isolation, locks, rhythm, coordination)
3. Ningning: I can see her moving up if she works on her lower body control (mostly footwork) and improve on getting cleaner arm placement. But she's doing incredibly well with her energy and groove.
4. Giselle: It would be better if she works on basic isolation and timing
Yeah I completely agree that winters performance in Savage and Next level was amazing, but her energy has been “lacking” lately
Ningning has been phenomenal in improvement too
Giselle is doing great too, this is her best performance yet imo
Karina > Winter > NN > Giselle still is the ranking :)

Obviously there are many great idol-dancers out there, but I'm extremely picky on who I think got everything.
Karina is unfortunately not on my top list. She has the best footwork in the group, but not above everyone in 4th gen.

1:05 isn’t winter, clearly as what I said even if it’s relaxed but the energy isn’t matched, also it’s not detailed, if you watch that dance step on the slowest version you can notice her missing a step, karina had the best steps here, she turned her lower body on the side with power and coordination just watch and you’ll understand, I’m a dancer too, not biased but you kinda did karina dirty here, many things she did the best you didn’t give to her, also her ranking was so low and so close to ningning but as a dancer no I don’t see it, put it slowed to see better
You say “not biased” but I always see you commenting on videos complaining about how Karina isn’t ranked high as she should be, I also see you all the time bringing down other members to praise Karina, not trying to be rude or anything.
It may be true but you have to learn how to praise the girl without discrediting others.

I have watch Dancer react to Winter vs Karina, About Winter that fans like about her dance is it's Inner pop she clearly execute every step with poise that tend to look cool but her weakness is long/explosive execution because she focuses more on small step While that's Karina bread and butter the long/explosive steps. we can see it clearly in Blackmamba.

well I can try :) Just watched some fancams now and this is what I've gathered
Strengths:
- energy and power-centered
- basic isolations
- often great timing
- natural bounce or groove
dance style:
- even if she doesn't have any dance position, it is clear that she has a groovy and energetic approach
weakness:
- lacks footwork
- messy arm placements (in savage)
- doesn't finish her moves (shortcuts) which affects her timing a little
Improvements based on this choreo (illusion)
- potential in locks
- clearer arm placement = more detailed
- overall isolation looks better
- improved timing as she did not shortcut as much as before
- improved strength in upper body (that's why her arm execution looks more detailed as well. Or just a speculation)

She should work on her footwork (they can be messy) and gain some strength in lower body to carry herself better on stage (meaning: not showing any signs of difficulty)
I would love to see her put more texture (other than groove) in order to develope a sense of personality :)
