I don't know what to say. I'm Brazilian and only 41. I was born 31 years after that WC but I always get a little sad for the final result.
However I wouldn't change the result even if I could because that loss has preceded golden ages. That loss was written on the stars, as we say in Brazil.
Uruguay has suffered to win Sweden and only could have a draw againt Spain, while Brazil has won both easily. Brazil had the lead in the final game but Uruguay could make better and became 2 time champions.
That results became one of the most interesting histories of all WCs.

Here in Brazil there's a lot of talk about goalkeeper Moacyr Barbosa's mistake in Uruguay's second goal in the final, scored by Alcides Ghigia. The image of this goal was not taken from the best possible angle, but to my incredible surprise and amazement I notice that at 14:43 minutes into the video, the same Ghigia scores an identical goal against Spain in the opening game of the second phase. And the movement of the Spanish goalkeeper (Antoni Ramallets) is exactly the same as what I've always read about Barbosa doing in the Uruguay goal that gave La Celeste their second world championship. Fantastic to see. Thank you very much and congratulations on the work of this channel.
There is a little mistake in the video. The first goal for uruguay in the match against brasil was not by Alcides Ghiggia, it was scored by Juan Schiaffino. But thank you for the great pictures and videos of this wonderful world cup

De este mundial, en España no habla nadie. Hasta 2010 fue lo mejor que hizo en los mundiales, además Ramallets fue considerado uno de los mejores , tal vez el mejor, porteros y Basora y Zarra como delanteros de calidad.

Great to have all the 1950 goals collected in one video. I have to offer one slight correction, regarding the United States’ win over England. The scene starting at 7:34 (and slo-mo replay at 7:40) does show Walter Bahr’s 38' shot, from outside the top left corner of the 18-yard box - at the goal England was defending at the north end of the Estádio Independência, in Belo Horizonte - that was deflected by a diving header for the match’s lone goal, by the U.S. forward Joe Gaetjens. And as the camera pans right in an attempt to follow Bahr’s shot, it loses the ball, but just before that segment cuts, we can see Gaetjens, at the lower right of the screen (here, unfortunately, largely obscured by the bar graphic with the teams and the score), not at the instant he heads the ball (alas), but just a moment after he's landed, his body stretched out on the ground, with his shoulders about at the top line of the six-yard box.
All well and good - BUT, then, the video cuts to shots (at 7:37) showing the ball flying into the back of the net, and the crowd in the stands rising and cheering. Those last scenes are apparently from that day in Estádio Independência, but as far as I can tell may be “stock” footage taken at moments altogether •different• from the goal. (Perhaps that of the ball going into the net was taken during warmups; note that this footage shows the ball hitting near the left (as seen from •behind• the goal) back corner of the net, about a couple feet •off• the ground. In contrast, other still photos that definitely do depict the goal, show the ball heading into the right side of the goal (again, as seen from behind the goal), and •on• the ground.)
I’ve found one photo, actually reproduced in a Joefa video, that seems to show the moment of the goal, the entire goalmouth, and the players involved - all in the same frame. The URL for the video is:

and the photo is at the 4:09 mark. It looks like the picture was taken from a slight elevation (perhaps the lower stands), close to the half-way line, on the right side of the field - in this case, from the orientation of the U.S. attack (which is the direction of the camera’s view).
From left to right, the image shows the U.S. no. 10, the forward Gino Pariani, standing just inside the top of the penalty area; inside the 6-yard box, (Sir) Alf Ramsey (just as he reacts to the ball’s caroming away from his keeper, though he’s not close enough to help); further up in the penalty area, almost in line with the left post, an England defender, probably Laurie Hughes; just right of him, on a knee, is Williams, with the ball maybe four feet behind him, just as it’s about to cross the line; lying at the top of the 6-yard box is Gaetjens (no. 18); an unidentified England defender; just outside the box is Bahr (no. 11), following in his shot; and another unidentified England defender.
This photo shows how Gaetjens’s slight redirection of Bahr’s shot wrong-footed Williams, who saw what had happened, but had no chance to do anything about it.
It also shows how Gaetjens, having given Hughes the slip, had a virtually open goal before him. The scantness of the contact he made kept the ball tantalizingly close to Williams, but out of reach. And if he’d made more substantial contact with the ball, it wouldn’t have been even that close; he would have slammed the ball emphatically into the back of the net, far from Williams.
(I have seen this photo nowhere else, outside this video. I would love to know its source, but for now that’s elusive, as Joefa doesn’t specify his source.)
