Sam was that the same bmw I8 still sitting at copart?
Yes lol but it finally sold around $40k@@williamriley-j4172
@@Samcraclol wow it’s sat there for about five years 🤣 glad it finally sold though
The one thing among many I like about your channel is that you are one of the best CZcams speakers.
I don't understand how a flood damaged car is OK to repair and drive in the USA but not Canada? They told me electrical problems haunt the vehicle for the rest of it's life. Understandable but many connections are water tight. Many are not. When you have a car that steers by wire imagine the wheel not working on the highway. This might turn out to be a huge mistake for anyone restoring something like that as they could be sued right? If the flood in mentioned in the title then it's buyer beware?
THE FEES!!! They can be close to 25%!!!! Dont be fooled when the bidding ends and you think you got a bargain. I like these videos. Thanks
True, Spent $2,600 on a car, dang fees was 1k, I was shocked, Ended up putting another 3k in the car to fix it, it was worth it cause it had low miles but when i went on FB, I seen cars posted for the same miles and same price. I felt stupid and i been buying for years
@@HemiLyfestyle This is very true at the low end. At the upper end, it's more reasonable - about 6K for the Bentley. The old adage that there's no free lunch is absolutely true. Every time you sell or buy a car it's an extra 1K minimum, so factor that in. People think that they can make money, but the reality is that you can look at a hundred cars over several days to find one that MIGHT turn a reasonable profit if you have your own lift and garage.
Yep, The FEES are absolutely CRAZY!!! CoPart is such a GREEDY company!!!
@@HemiLyfestylePff l😊o
Yeah, its tough to make a profit on a lot of these insurance cars. The repair time and complexity is often high and your taking risk every time you buy one that it could be a huge surprise in a bad way. I bought a Tesla that ended up being easier to repair than I expected but then the used price of Tesla’s plummeted 😅 so had to keep the car
Whoever owned that Corvetter definitely wore New Balance cross trainers with jean shorts, polo shirt, and Ping ball cap.
If there were a bottle of Polo cologne in the center console then my guess would be it was a strip club owner...
Standard Corvette owners uniform. Obviously 1 of 1 too.
I just imagine someone drunk and driving like a maniac not caring if they destroy their 5-10 or 20 year old quality car. I bet some rich guy gives the car to their spoiled 16 year old and well, who cares what happens. Probably have to settle with an ordinary Corvette as punishment.
I laugh every time Samcrac says that V-Tuned could fix this or that but still hasn't finished fixing the Samcrac Ferrari... 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣
Which one the green or silver 360
599
Hard to finish that ferrari
when you have to wait for parts.
waiting for parts😅
Yeah, it's not a skill thing, it's a parts thing.
Terrific video today Sam so interesting its truly so amazing how much these cars go for if you are mechanically inclined you can fix them up relatively cheaply and then enjoy them.
Felice Navidad! Great video, amazing how much some of those went for. My personal favorite to set ablaze was the custom paint job Vette. Perhaps the seats would make some nice boots!
That merc wagon was a steal.
Sam, that was a great video. I really like hearing what's going on in your head while walking through the yard.
Like these videos, its a shame we cannot follow them after repair and restoration to see what was a winner💪👍🏻 Thznks Sam, very interesting to see actual sale prices 👏👏👏
I really appreciate when you show what the cars you are looking at sell for. As im typing this, I'm thinking you dont do it for every car because they didnt sell. So I digress! Happy Holidays Sam! Thanks for a great year of content, laughs, information, education, everything man. Hope all is well brother, cheers!
I've rebuilt a ton of cars over the years, some for personal use and some for resale. It's fun (I love learning new skills like body, paint, detailing, etc), I've gotten some personal cars I wouldn't otherwise have been able to afford, and I usually make money. The only cars I've really lost money on are high-miles German cars, and the most profitable ones (as a percentage of cost) have been American and Japanese sub $5k cars.
To me, that Mercedes wagon was the only deal, assuming it runs. Some of the supercars and luxury brands can be profitable, but the risks are substantial. The difference between a $50k profit and a $20k loss is razor thin.
Yeah, your entire profit can be wiped out by a single part on an exotic. V tuned did his McLaren and "made a profit" but he lost his shirt if you include the hours he spent on it. Even if you figure a very low $80/hr he had $80,000 in labour on it.
"Cheap" car prices and demand have skyrocketed with the inflation on new cars. I think this is a great place for rebuilding; there is a lot to choose from and reasonable parts prices.
On the other hand, with the spike in interest rates and sketchy economic situation, I think rebuilt exotics have become a more risky proposition.
@@dosgos Well it used to be if you were "upside down" on a used car it was a bad thing. But oddly enough with the insane prices on new cars, the value of a used car has increased so you're not so upside down.
I've put $8000 into my 2004 F150 and people said "you're nuts". Ok, ignoring the fact that it's a 5.4L, anything 6 yrs+ newer would cost me $20K and up AND come with its own problems. New? to replace it? $60,000+ and for that I could rebuild mine from the ground up and have enough to pay for gas for the rest of my life.
'A ton of cars' is only one car since most weigh more than 2000 lbs. Just stating the facts.
@@oldanslo I bet you're great fun at parties.....not.
Outstanding Sam! Keep 'em comin dude! You are the best!
Everyone learns not to buy salvage vehicles from anyone but an insurance Co. Eventually
AWWWWWWWWWW thanks Sam.!😡. Dream killer I thought I had a great deal! Now everyone knows I paid $10K too much for my Bentley! 😂😅🤣
best example of a car vertical check ive seen a youtuber do.
Haha very true!
Except that for free you can google a vin and see previous auction google images or other random sites
Merry Christmas Sam. Thanks for years of entertainment
Your obvious carnivorous Love,, passion, and intoxicating enthusiasm for what you do is EXACTLY how I feel about step mom. Merry Christmas Sam, we love you!! And please do these auction vids OFTEN!
Or his step mom?😂
She’s his sister in real life 😮😂😮😂
Hope 2024 brings you and your family an abundance of joy and wonderful things Sam!!!❤
I about spit my drink when you said the way the floorboard dipped would change the water level line inside the car. lmao! Gravity doesn't work that way. lol.
My thoughts, is math related to science?
I mean he isn’t completely wrong.
One of your better walk through videos. Thanks Sam.
The red pista ferrari is awsome but i would pass on all others
Another great walk around
Some amazing cars
Have a great Christmas from New Zealand
thanks Sam...loved seeing the real numbers!!
$10,000 for a salvage S2000 I agree with ratarossa they’re 10 a penny in the UK.
$20k to $30k here in the states, if in good shape here in the states
@@MrKoshVWhat about if it’s in the states? And in good shape?
Send then to the US then
@@Gtrips07 Too bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
@MrJordanwain they are cheap because you cant sell them in europe, right hand drive sucks
I always learn something new watching you and your videos.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Love this video type with the sale prices shown
Sam, that was a great video, I hope you do some more.
Great video. I enjoy getting the scoop of what vehicles are selling for.
I've been watching your videos for almost a couple years now. Love them. There real. Not scripted or staged. You have that normal working class ora about you. Think that's why I really enjoy your videos.
Merry Christmas Samul❤️ thanks for the Christmas gift video
Love this video Sam - the fees are interesting and something a lot of folks don't factor in. There were a lot of cars here like the Cayenne and the 550 I would love to take on. Certainly not that flooded Bentley!
Great that you listened to the viewers Sam and put the sell prices in the video 👍 but the question I have is “did you buy one” 😊 looking forward to 2024 😀
That 991.1 Targa having a Turbo badge is hilarious…what went on in the owners head when he out it on
Was thinking the same thing. Was wondering if they put a turbo on it and possibly caused the fire but probably not. Just a jaggoff putting a turbo badge on a NA car lol
Great video. Your knowledge of cars is truly impressive.
Love this content with the sale price. Without it, it doesnt really tell us the viewer too much
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Sam!
Thanks for the great video. Merry Christmas 🎅 everyone.
Sad that there are a lot of scumbags out there when it comes to getting cars from an auction. You've actually saved me from getting a huge money pit from these auctions. I was looking at a 2010 Porsche 911 at my local auction that was listed as running and driving supposedly it was a bank repo.. I googled the VIN number and found that the car was previously listed at a different auction a few months ago as a flood car!
That s55 for 2k was definitely the deal to be had.
S550 not s55
Nice to see Scott again 👍🏻
Usually Bentleys are under 6,000 lb and max price of $409,000 extremely fully loaded and only 45% can be written off the tax code vs Rolls Royce are 6,000 lb and start at half a million dollars and can reach up to$1.5 million depending on options therefore bigger tax write off.
Also, for people who want bling status, everyone has a Bentley or a Ferrari. Lol. In some places in Los Angeles, you see one every other block, almost. Now the real bling, though, is and has always been classic cars. That mint condition 1960 or 70ss Bentley is going to turn heads all the time. In my case, it was a 1967 Mercedes in (factory) emerald green. It felt special to drive it. Compared to any old AMG that is.. nice but like every other German sedan?
16:17 I have a sneaking suspicion that car was never registered, probably damaged by the dealer or on a test drive. I mean at 150 miles if someone actually owned it, they totaled it on the first or 2nd time they drove it.
Very interesting. Fun to watch and dream. Some real good bargains. Others, like the Ferrari 550, not so much. Thanks.
I have a D4 Audi A8L with the V8 twin-turbo; same motor...APR tune, improved RS7 turbos, downpipes, turbo oil screens removed/relocated up on custom lines, bigger sway bars and the center muffler changed. Very understated, not loud, but will straight up move. Best part? Inherited
I like this video that shows the sold price.
14:00 Sam was in flow describing this Ferrari 😂
Yep enjoy the auction tours and what they went for !
Sam, dropping new vids Xmas Eve. Nice !
Haha! Right! My wife would not like that I'm watching this instead of wrapping presents
I love these auction videos. Why don't more CZcamsrs do this?
18:19 love the “automatic” of those 2 accents😁
Hey Sam is that BMW at 11:30 ever going to sell??? Love all the Porsche coverage in this video. Merry Christmas
Nice one. Happy Christmas from Thailand. ❤😊
Sam I love your walk round and price estimates more please! Personally I would wanna buy the R8 mmmmm. Simon
These are awesome vids!
Love these videos but would love more if you could guide on what to look for, what to avoid, etc., you know giving the guys who are thinking of trying a restoration some guidance so they dont get screwed.
As for which car I would restore, you need to set some value brackets otherwise that pista would be it if money wasn't a question.
Great video Sam. I love these video where you walk thru the yard pointing things out and leaving prices in your wake. Awesome video!!
Samcrac, the man who never finishes a project, you can make your own copart soon, keep up the good work👍😂
Kinda crazy to see that many high end expensive cars messed up like that. Some with very low miles.
Watching this and thinking about my next build.
For a lot of these cars you have to think of the part out costs. I had a car totalled (like could not simply be fixed) and made more parting it out and selling what was left of the frame for scrap what i paid for it.
Sam,Merry Christmas I go for the Mercedes 550
Beautiful car and quality!
Hvl.
Samcrac, Merry Christmas!
That was loads of fun Sam. That S550 went super cheap. Wonder what the issue was.
Old german cars..so much to go wrong. The v8's had the nasty v8 cam teeth that would get worn out and cause major engine damage, never mind that air suspension eventually needs to be repaired or replaced with coilovers. Great luxury on the cheap, but when they break, run.
Please rebuild an Audi R8 Plus as you mentioned. Would be nice to see!
We are watching this video and my wife goes 'hes always picking out new things but never finishes what he's working on already.. why?'. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You do not buy a rear end damaged 911 ever!!!
Many buy them for the good parts.
Parts yes, but you don’t want to count on the engine at all
Funny asf that SamCrac never finishes his builds. Either way good content non the less.
Sam is right!! 2007 Porsche Cayman Mileage: 66,953 · Little Ferry, NJ for $20k in great condition with a clean title on Car Gurus! Not sure if this has the IMS bearing or not. Pristene condition!
That 3500 that kicked the driveshaft out makes a man cry 😢
The fiat 500 next to the Bentley is more my cup of tea/Budget 🤗
MERRY CHRISTMAS SIR 🤓🇺🇸👍
As an owner of a C5 Z06, it's always the automatic vettes with the best modifications LOL.
The first time I feel good buying a car in Germany.
S2000 in great shape cost around $12-19k in Germany.
That example would cost ... maybe 3-5 grand.
On the other Hand the S Class Mercedes would not be as low as 2000 bucks. More like 5000 with a bad engine or Transmission
@@Senzenfrenz That might be right.
I am not interested in german cars at all.
It bothers me a lot that 90% of hits (when I search for performance, gearbox etc) are german cars.
Rebuild that Ram 1 ton at the end. Probably worth the most. Frame offs aren't that hard.
I certainly like these videos occasionally. Unfortunately, being in the a*sole of the world here (Australia), we have very little to choose from in this high end stuff.
When I was an AGM at CoPart we encountered a decent amount of flooded cars that someone tried really hard to cover up.
The Mercedes wagon for sure!!!
My kind of auto
The White MGA Mk1 by the Maranello. But for 10k the S2000 is a decent deal.
Forget Alice in wonderland. Sam at copart is a hell of a lot more fun. 👍. Really enjoy how well presented, damage, prices and potential upsides.
I concur.
Could have made a decent drinking game for everytime sam mentions vtuned 😂
Crazy how super cars are notorious for catching fire especially Italian brands. WOW!
I like seeing what the cars sol for on video. Maybe Ratarrosa could help vTuned get parts for Samcrac's Ferrari.
He already has!
Insurance auctions are a fools paradise. There is an entire industry of people buying these cars, making them look a little better and flipping them at the same auctions. Only If you are a scammer or need content for youtube the auctions make sense.
I've bought my last probably 10 cars from the auction. Only got burned on one
@sagagsvczxbuc8q1tzxz *you're. Is it too hard to use the correct form of you're? Your is a possessive adjective like my, his, her etc.
The entire salvage auction industry isn't completely made up of cover-ups. Thousands of cars sold daily, only a small percentage are cover-ups, larger percentage from dealers, the rest from insurance companies. Unlike these content seeking youtubers, I actually do this daily. I own a used car dealer that only buys salvage cars from copart. I never inspect cars in person either. You just have to know who you are buying from and that can tell you the condition of most cars. Also, managing risk.
Also, haha, this is what I want to do as a hobby/passion. Being able to save certain cars from death and bring them back to their glory would be so fulfilling. I just have to figure out how to get my delaers license! In CO, I can sell 2 or 3 cars a year without a DL. But gaining access to these auctions is crucial and a license is required for that! Wich me luck!
23rd Garage can fix em up like they just rolled off the assembly line which is VTuned bruther from the same mom and dad
I bought the Cayenne when Sam showed it years ago. Took me a year to fix it and now I daily drive it. Put about 10k into it .
I think you mean W12, not V12, when it comes to the other spec for the Bentley.
It's either a v8 or w12 engine... no v12 engines on Bentleys
That blue McLaren has been at salvage auctions for a long time at least since 2019
Yes, like the video. I would spend my own money on the very last Ferrari. You looked at that one looks like it would be the easiest to bring back to life. Also, it’s one of my favorite body styles of Ferraris.
My thoughts exactly.
I wonder how many of these cars are profitable without youtube money ?
To be fair, the carpet was the last piece to dry out.
55k plus 5-6k auction fee seller hardly made 4-5k risking 60K
I love these types of videos, you should go do a walk around of the auctions more often than you do
I'd do walk around videos if people were interested in watching them. I've done a couple and nobody really watches them.
@@ThatDudeMrRoyaltyno, no ones watching you, there's plenty that do this and get cried....
Cleani crew is on point
My boss bought a flood ferrari ff. I took the whole interior out of this car and found zero signs of water anywhere. Best deal ever from iaai!!
Honestly it could have gone for more … wether it was cleaned or not. No scam their, just a resold car in it’s original salvage state.
Sam you could put coul overs on it instead of fixing the air suspension
The only thing these auctions are good for is the purchase of vehicles for spare parts.
Those rims on the second gen Cayenne are factory i have the same rims on both of my first gen Cayenne S only mine are factory painted silver. However i would love to get them chromed out i think it would look better.
What camera do you use Sam looks good bro.
