    Ingredients:
.wheat flour 1 and 1/2 cup or 240g
.powdered sugar 1/2 cup or 75g
.cold butter 1/2 cup or 130g
    .baking powder 1 tsp
    .milk 5 tbsp
.if you are using unsalted butter then use 1/4 tsp of salt
As many of you are asking about the stamp so thought to mention it here.
I am staying in Japan. I got my stamp from 100 yen shop(Daiso) in baking related section. It is a kind of 1 dollar shop.

I've given these a try. I didn't have any ordinary sugar so I used demerara instead, and I don't have a rolling pin so flattened them out with the heel of my hand. Result: they tasted a bit richer and were thicker than shop-bought ones. The texture was softer than a normal biscuit, probably due to the extra thickness and the fact I didn't them cool down completely - temptation got the better of me!

Thanks for this one. I love digestive and have been buying for years. It will be homemade from now on.
I used all purpose flour, so reduced milk to 3tbsp to prevent watery dough (shared in a comment here). Have to work fast in my warm kitchen. I had fun with my cookie stamp set bought on Amazon, lockdown toy. Printing birthday messages for a friend. Baked at 160°C fan force for 12 mins only. This recipe yield 15, similar size to store bought digestive. Taste different to store bought. Crunchier, just like yours in the video, not crumbly. I love it. Highly recommend this recipe.

Yes people, i finally made these! 👍 Lovely, lovely I tell you! I did mix my flour with majority wheat and the lesser portion white. The 5 tbsp milk did make my dough soggy somehow, but I just added a bit more flour until the texture firmed up. I really enjoyed this, will be making more of these! Awesome! 👊

I usually replace butter with vegetable oil or margarine ,whichever's available, and my recipes just turn out fine. Can't stand the taste or smell of butter either ...I dont do dairy products too.
      Just note that:
Margarine is a little salty though so you may have to adjust the recipe accordingly.

    • @onlyme7248
      @onlyme7248 Před 4 lety +2

Nancy Aluoch it is good to hear of people on this earth who hate butter , and not only me . Each time I check if a particular dish has butter or not , the usual replay is , are you allergic to it ? And when I say no , I just can’t stand the stuff , I get this look implying hoy could you?!! and hear such words as : but everything is better with butter , as if I’m freak of nature!! So I’m always looking for substitutes, usually margarine is the first thing that comes to mind, but the thing is , margarin is most unhealthy substitute , so I avoid it , and that makes things not easy for someone who likes to bake. So I have to make do with oils that are not bad for you, such as olive or coconut oil. stay safe , and I wish you enjoyable baking .

Normally butter gives such a beautiful and good taste . Butter gives better taste in anything u cook.... sweets ,foods....And in foods/sweets u cant feel the taste of the butter actually ...is the butter which makes the product u prepare to taste better 👍🏼
That if u dont like it ...thats different ! But if everyone is telling you same thing “but butter gives such a good taste “ is because ,yes ,the rest of us loves it . Margarine is so unhealthy and u better use oil than margarine !!!

Marisol Valdes: True. English biscuits like McVities Digestives and other name brands always use whole wheat. Here’s the ingredients right from the packet.
Flour (54%) (Wheat Flour, Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin),
      Vegetable Oil (Palm),
      Wholemeal Wheat Flour (16%),
      Sugar,
      Partially Inverted Sugar Syrup,
Raising Agents (Sodium Bicarbonate, Malic Acid, Ammonium Bicarbonate),
      Salt,
      Dried Skimmed Milk.
