      ''Schooled and programmed to say the right things''? Alma was taught by example, to be kind , modest, and giving. She comes from a good home and loving family; are you saying that's a crime?
      You are totally ignorant, jealous, and bitter. Alma had certain advantages, but her intelligence and huge musical talents are both inherited and encouraged from a very early age, because she loves what she does. GROW_UP !!

      Its called RP which stands for Received Pronunciation. It is usually and accent of the English the middle-upper class and aristocracy. It is an English accent rather than a British one. There are many regional accents in Britain but this one is an English one . Its often seen as the "correct" or "proper" way of speaking and as such its found in places like privet schools and professions that require an advanced education (Doctors,Solicitors,Barristers,Bankers) I am teaching all of my children to speak this way. It gives the impression of an educated,well mannered,articulate and intelligent person (although you can have this accent and be an absolute idiot) Classically trained Actors (such as Emily Blunt,Hugh Grant and Kate Winslet) are also taught this at drama schools

    When I was six, my parents took me to a concert at Iowa State College (now University) in Ames, Iowa. The featured soloist with the Iowa State Symphony was eight-year-old Elaine Kirk and yes, she was wearing pigtails because her teacher, Ilsa Neimack insisted that her mother not cut them before the concert.
    I told my parents if Elaine could do that, I could do that. They got me a violin and I studied music for the next thirteen years. Never gained the expertise Elaine had or--Alma had--at the age of eight!

    Studies show children learn best at 0 to 5 years when their synapses are forming.
    Hence, most young children that age aren't stimulated enough, which is why learning becomes more tedious later.
    It would be best to learn Critical Thinking & Problem Solving at that age & the things that go with them -- Diligence, Keenness, Alertness, Imagination, etc.

    The one thing I don't understand, is why she always plays The Bee on interviews, it's a great way to show her talent, but there are plenty of other beautiful violin compositions to do that with. Also, she started having these "ideas" as she calls it at the age of 4, not 7, I could see in the interview that it bothered her when Ellen made that mistake.

    It's interesting how naturally she speaks, and yet everyone in the audience thinks it's the funniest or most absurd thing when she just speaks like a normal damn person. It goes to show how "artificial" has become the new "normal" in our society. If you actually just speak your mind, everyone thinks it's the craziest thing they've ever heard. Maybe they'll laugh, or perhaps they'll be offended. Meanwhile, when kids are jumping off the walls and acting like they're possessed, it's just "kids being kids." I was also home-schooled like she is and encountered the same reaction from people when I went out into the bigger world. It's funny how novel it is to the average person when you simply act genuine.

    Alma has a wonderful positive outgoing personality, very friendly and unassuming. She is very very smart, and you can see she easily and naturally takes over orchestras and conductors in the production of her work and they all give her lots of respect, she is a real leader. She also has perfect pitch and is why she can do some of her composing simply in her head, and the sharpest musical ear you will ever see - she picks up things in the orchestra that nobody else does.

      @63rdwho Před 7 lety +1

      As far as I know, Alma has been home schooled throughout. She speaks beautifully, and I am only guessing but the fact that her father is a linguist could very well have something to do with that.

  • @akanecortich8197
    @akanecortich8197 Před 6 lety

    The very very important thing to consider here given that Alma is composing in the classical styles is that at the time of Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn - there was no radio, tv, computers. The entertainment of that world were live music and composers. Composers and musicians were bought up in a world where many were musicians and composers, as a natural part of life. Learning music and composition back then was an easier process when the world was full of classical composers and music as a daily part of life to bounce off and to mix with. Classical composers today have a very difficult task, the local tavern, hall, neighbor are not sitting around listening and playing classical music. Contemporary music rules. Like it would be simpler to write in the Shakespeare style in the 14/1500s than today. So Alma's achievements to date are the more remarkable. If she were in 1790s you can imagine her writing tons of great music.

    Alma is very modest about the size of orchestra she may write for, but elsewhere on here, she is playing her music with full size orchestras. Presumably she is now producing the full orchestration.

      @sadams12345678 Před 8 lety

      +Theresa Froehlich
      Amira is NOT Alma's stepsister. The term stepsister in the case of Alma and Amira refers to the duet that they have sung together because it is sung by the wicked stepsisters in Alma's opera Cinderella and is therefore called the "stepsisters duet"

    • @pdcrews100
      @pdcrews100 Před 8 lety

      +sadams12345678 Yes, they are not actual stepsisters. They are good friends though. I thought they were making a reference to the "Dueling Stepsisters" from Alma's opera Cinderella.
