- This week on Small Plots, I venture forth with a couple of friends to an enormous reservoir (It's a lake, let's be real) for two nights of sudsy fun and some R&R. Besides our hammocks, who knows what we'll be getting into!

A bit of dirt in ya water won’t kill you, but I agree it’s off putting to drink! When I lived in the bush in Australia, we drank rainwater collected in a corrugated metal cistern. After awhile you get fed up with picking out the mosquitoes and larvae, and just drink it! Lol

Haha I was more concerned about the pollen in the water messing with my allergies. Turned out ok. I didn't film it, but ended up filtering it out through a coffee filter and it was perfect
Love the video but as a knife enthusiast...The Buck 119 is not the best knife for a ferro rod. The spine is too round, only way to get nice sparks is using the actual blade which I dont like to do. I do love the knife though lol
Always have a cotton ball will start every time.
The angle of ķnife on ferrow rod helps too
Looks like a lot of fun. I rarely go camping with others, maybe it’s because I don’t have any friends, either way I prefer solo backcountry camping. I take my dog as cool as he is I prefer alone. Your videos make me want to start my own channel and share but it all sounds like too much additional work for me. That’s for taking the time.

@@smallplots I always thought they were a gimmick, but Steve Wallis talked me into trying one and I'll never go back. They're not a cure-all, but they make the outdoors considerably more tolerable, and they seem to be sold practically everywhere nowadays.
You could always filter the particles out of your water with a coffee filter.

Made it far enough to notice your high-quality "Outdoors MeGee" though. Nice choice, but I'm going to get a lighter-colored one to accentuate my BBQ-sauce stains.
Awesome camping trip. It really is ashame people don't follow a common courtesy rule to not leave waste of any kind behind for the next campers to deal with . Anyway, other than that, beautiful area to camp. Thanks for the adventure 👍👍 Take Care 😃
