Happy to see that more people are discovering the pink floyd experience. Its not music, its feeling, vibes, emotion and always a journey no one wants to end. I have seen them live since the 1980's.

I know this song since '79 - I was 20 at this time - I always feel the same emotion when listening to it ! Tears are never far, I am so much touched by this guitar solo...
That PULSE live version is even better with a very long 2nd solo, David Gilmour took the time to buid it, and your emotion goes higher and higher... as he plugs his guitar directly to your soul....
And i always loved David's warm voice !
The 1st song I listened in 1972 from PF was "echoes" from Meddle album, I was 13.... and I was starting the Pink Floyd journey !

I've seen them four times in my life, twice in the 1970s once in 1987 and this concert in 1994. I've seen at least a hundred concerts in my lifetime including just about every group from AC DC to Led Zeppelin and almost every group in between alphabetically. At every one of those Pink Floyd concerts nobody was moving or very few people at all. The only time the audience went nuts was when they left the stage and people cheered and yelled and screamed until they came back for their Encore songs!
If you stick with Pink Floyd you won't be disappointed at all!!

Best guitar solo ever. The whole Pulse concert is epic.
Pink Floyd is my favorite band for nearly fifty years now and will always be number one.
Number two is Nightwish and three is Ayreon followed by Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, The Gathering, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Avantasia
Don’t forget to listen to the albums.
Wish you were here, is the best one to start with
    Animals
    Dark side of the moon
    The wall
And don’t forget Echoes from the album Meddle. The studio version is recommended if you want to hear all the subtle things that get lost when played live.

Great reaction! Love that you found Pink Floyd. They are almost spiritual. I've been listening to them for 45+ years.
Same concert, SORROW, LEARNING TO FLY, COMING BACK TO LIFE, HIGH HOPES, TIME, RUN LIKE HELL, SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND. All EPIC. SORROW is my personal favorite. Keep going.

Ditto what White Sox 2021 said below,.... except that I've been listening to Pink Floyd since 1973, the year 'Dark Side of the Moon' was released, 48 years. I also agree with the songs he/she recommended you react to from the same 1994 Pulse concert, especially 'Sorrow', 'High Hopes' and 'Learning to fly'!
There is no other band like Pink Floyd, their music speaks to a persons soul.

@Lastbee, You should have been there!!! I'm old enough (almost 47) that I was able to see these guys live twice in 1994 for this tour. First show was at NC State University in their stadium. I bought tickets the day they went on sale, so I was on the field in row "M" which is the 13th row. OMG the overload of sound and visual imagery was mind blowing (I'm sure the 2 hits of LSD I was on had no effect 😁). In their live shows they had what's referred to as Quadraphonic Sound, They were actually the first band to ever use this in a live concert. QS is basically surround sound and they had perfected the use of it by '94. They could make the sound movie around the inside of the stadium and go from what would be higher up in the stadium and sweep it down to on the field. It was insane. My second show was at RFK in DC. That show I got my tickets much later so I was up in the stadium seating which was cool because I got to enjoy the show from two perspectives. They were both great but down on the field that close to the stage was definitely better!

Gilmour is the GOAT. There are four live performance songs that I'd classify as "live perfection":
    Comfortably Numb-Pulse
    Sorrow-Pulse
    High Hopes-Pulse
    and
Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day performance of Kashmir.
These are must watch before you leave this life!

This performance has this effect on a lot of people--speechless by the end! David Gilmour is a thrilling guitarist and singer and the whole band is amazing. The light show is something that Pink Floyd was known for in their live shows. I was fortunate to see David Gilmour on his solo tour in 2016 and he performed this and many other classic Pink Floyd songs along with his solo work. Another great song from the Pulse concert I suggest you react to is called 'Sorrow'. Everything from the Pulse concert is amazing, but the guitar work in 'Sorrow' ranks as high as 'Comfortably Numb' for me. Here is the link to that if you are interested: czcams.com/video/JdPTec5ADFE/video.html

Has anyone told him yet that the Wall is a concept album and the best way to listen is to listen to it beginning to end and preferably read the lyrics. I've owned several copies of the Wall in various forms, vinyl, cassette, both of which came with copies of the lyrics. You can find them online even.
Seriously, listen to it end to end and read the lyrics. Also I give him credit for not pausing it during a David Gilmore solo, I hate that.

First Rule: never close your eyes during a Pink Floyd performance. Floyd shows are a visual as well as musical. They use the lights to amplify and magnify the emotions in songs.

Your relatively stoic reaction throughout the duration of the song is puzzling. The music did not move you in proportion to the masterpiece that the song and performance was. Your musical sensibilities seem to be somewhat dulled.
