This house is so chic and understated. Elizabeth has a design studio in her home and lives alone. This is me; I want to grow old in peace and in the midst of quiet, yet tasteful beauty.

I have watched this video more than once. My initial attraction to this house was its visual design, then i realize the reason i wanted to watch it again was the owner Elizabeth. The house is a complete reflection of her graceful beauty and spirit. Listening to her soothing voice speaking about her home, you come to realize that it is not just a thing, but just as her body where her spirit dwells, so to is her home a dwelling place for her beautiful and peaceful spirit.You have a beautiful existence Elizabeth, thank you for sharing it.
Stunning place. Most people do not consciously realize the impact of the built environment on their well being. Whether it be the space that you live in, the colour and texture of the walls or the amount of natural light in a space. It all affects you one way or the other

I was so impressd by the beautiful house and its stunning owner. I kept thinking " how does she protect herself from intruders?" , " how and who cleans the outside of those huge windows? " i loved it though ,it's modern but cozy.

You grew younger. I love England and know from experience that it's actually mostly sunny, almost all the time, unlike the reputation it has around the world of being grey and rainy. At a glance, your home and garden seemed almost more like homes in say, Australia or New Zealand than what many might expect to see in the South of England. Well done.
That depends where you live, London has the best weather in the country but if you live in the North like Yorkshire or Manchester it's grey and raining 80% of the time

And a bonus for me is that this house is in the UK, so we don't have to listen to an AUSTRALIAN architect constantly harping on about the 'MATERIALITY'

She is so right building a home that functions for you for when you get older I see so many People build homes with so much stairs so much luxury And amenity's That takes a lot of time to clean I'm gonna be texting on your body when you get over there and they are all All the couples and building homes that's not Architecturally sustainable based on their needs Of future leads

A house bolted to the ground, a few feet above a nearby river... literally the least flood-proof home one could build.
Does she have to dust/vacuum/clean underneath the house and does the dog accept the being off the ground? My dog cannot cross bridges because she knows there's space underneath :)
Why would she need to clean underneath the house? Do people vacuum their outdoor spaces? Interesting about the dog though.
I love this house….but for me, the wood colour looks orange inside and could have been a bit softer with a lovely lime wash.

Floor plan, floor plan, floor plan.
So many people using wood in their homes, thinking it stylish and chic and just not getting climate change and the absolute need for trees. They are not sustainable. They can be regenerated but that doesn;t hit the mark. that is not good enough. The Thames is flooding because most of the plants and trees have been removed from about and around it. The irony, if not so painful, is poetic. I hope she has a boat!
Good gravy! Some of the commentary by the owners of the houses in these videos are so pretentious when they talk. She felt like she was accepted by the place? She feels like belongs there? UGH!!!! It's a nice house and it's yours. That's all!

@@dixieflatline1189 My worldview? I live in a part of the world where there are a lot of homeless people and people who live in cardboard shacks. I think my worldview is a little more realistic than hers.

I felt the same way with all this "fluff" she said. I can imagine she's rich with a lot of time to "reflect" while the other side of the spectrum people just trying to save a deposit to get "on to the ladder". Just wanted to be "accepted" by the bank for their mortgage approval...

There are probably videos of poor busy people talking about how miserable they are if you search for them.
People generally don't get comfortable like this from lives of idleness. She's enjoying a nice life at that age, not simply being idle. Your comment sounds envious.
