    This is one of best, no, it s the best product review ever produced by Anderton’s. Excellent feature and spec review, but the demonstration is fantastic. The play is superb. Every part was perfectly produced.

    Fantastic demonstration. There’s nothing better than a Jazz Bass into a classic amp tone. This is absolutely perfect for travelers or anyone looking for a great value. Sounds phenomenal.
    Thanks for using the Fender player series for the review. Will be checking out the Ant and the Newt variants. Just an incredible all in one system. Got to love Andertons AATBass series. Always done with class!

    Sick tone, Nathan. We know it's all in the fingers. ❤️ I like the Ashdown sound very much. I have one of the very last UK-built Electric Blue EB12-150 combos and used it to record an album. With PA support, it's plenty loud. I think that wee ANT and its 200W would be a stellar touring setup.

    Great Demo, Nathan. Nice little amp and sounds even better when the person playing it has his chops together :-) Rare to find musos that can turn their hands to and sound good on, a variety of instruments

    So how would this be as straight preamp live while using my old Crown or QSC for power? I like a little tube grit sometimes too so maybe the Ashdown Original Pre would suffice my needs better? Great playing Nathan!!!

    I was never a fan of Ashdown, seemed like a completely unnecessary brand. However, I bought an Ashdown Vintage 12 combo (discontinued now) for rehearsals roughly a year ago, and God that little cheap thing sounds good! It makes the bass sound like a bass should. I only wish it had more power. Now I'm trying to figure out if I should get something like this Ant - I rarely need even half of the power of my 500W class D amp anyway - or buy a new head with enough headroom for any gig I might get. Regardless, I'll be pairing it with my amazingly loud and light Barefaced Super Twin (212). It would be neat to ditch the amp on top of the cab and have everything on the pedalboard instead. I'd just need a longer speakon cable in that case. 🙂

  • @LovelyLadySnowblood
    @LovelyLadySnowblood Před 4 lety +2

    Honestly I like the idea and shape BUT there is no Aux-in and no possibility to stomp for muting it - why haven’t they made it a real pedal???
    With an aux-in it’ll be the perfect mini practice amp.
    So it seems like Ashdown haven’t thought this product through. Too bad...

  • @PlayWithYourThumb
    @PlayWithYourThumb Před 4 lety +1

    I just can't see the point of a pedalboard amp for bass. Modern D class amps are no bigger, have a builtin DI and (usually a compressor) and don't require a cabinet load. Put this thing on your board and you will probs need a bigger board anyway.

    • @Walliebal
      @Walliebal Před 4 lety

      I agree. I have to ditch about half of my pedals (total of 12) to fit it on my board. And I already have an Ashdown RM500 which I love. But it is a cool toy.

    No gain, poor eq, not much power. Am I the only Bass Player That needs 250 W or higher? It is not only the volume but the clarity of deep bass, that requires the power. I would recommend to buy a Tc electronic BQ 500 or the BH 250 with TonePrint instead.
