Truth is ugly and telling it is uglier, because it cuts through the flesh. Sadaat Hasan Manto became an outsider and an outcast after he settled in the newly created Islamic State of Pakistan preceded by the partition of British India in 1947. Most of the ugly truth he spoke through his writings was not digestible by his compatriots in West Pakistan. However, his gospels are no more unheard and unappreciated. We, as Bangladeshis, revere him as a writer and a thinker. We understand his perspectives and that is why, he will always be celebrated for his truths which most Pakistanis still find unsettling. Telling the inconvenient truth is nobler than keeping the mouth shut in the face of the fear of rejection and criticism. Manto is a champion of truth and partition of India is the greatest tragedy for all of us in the subcontinent. I regret we lost such a versatile genius too early. Our whole political history is really a matter of pity. We cannot undo history. But we can at least try to heal the wounds of it.

This some of the most dumb things I’ve ever heard, he literally most celebrated in Pakistan and Pakistan was secular until 1973 and their was no truth that was not digestible or unsettling for Pakistanis on what he said. And there literally no Bangladeshi that celebrates him or even knows him barely

      Yes she's a blatant liar.
In her version of history of partition, while talking about Jinnah, She does not present the truth rather concealing the demonic and selfish nature of Jinnah. Jinnah was after his own personal gains and not for Muslims of the subcontinent. He didn't gave a shit about the millions of Muslims who'll be left in Hindu majority India, and went with his agenda for personal gratification. He was a failed statesman and poor administrator with no vision.

Its called selective memory. On one hand you call Direction Action day and then write short stories about terrible life. Naturally once you call direct action day you need to be prepared for consequences. Till date Pakistan has not apologized for Direct action day. Without an apology, artists can't be allowed to work in Mumbai entertainment industry no matter how brilliant their art. They need to own up their people who preach hate. Uproot those people from civic society and then talk art.

Sir& Madam, there is no pity of partition of india.
The real pity is that indian muslims ditched Mr Jinnah and stayed back.
    Recall the English proverb:
We will have our cake and eat it too.
As of now muslims both in india and pakistan are severely aggrieved and enormously unhappy at their conditions vis a vis hindus across the globe including their homeland india.
The fact is pakistani elite as well as
Indian ashrafi muslims enjoy aggravating grievances and unhappiness of muslims in pakistan as well as india.

    Partition of Indian subcontinent
was unpardonable sin committed by the political personalities .
The prophecy of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ( who vehemently opposed the partition of India),has become true.
He warned the then leadership of India, that it would leave the
whole sub continent into complete ruination.
    Politically, Socially, Economically and Culturally.
If we could live Unitedly , this
part of the world would have been a source of inspiration for the rest of the countries.

The last chance to preserve the unity of india was the Muslim leagues cabinet mission plan which asked for autonomy for Muslim majority provinces but was outrightly rejected by congress leaders. Even the partition of Bengal and the Punjab was a congress demand. It follows therefore that congress leaders were not overly interested in preserving the unity of India.

    • @souvikkhankari5200
      @souvikkhankari5200 Před rokem +3

Don't simplify it..Look at the conditions of the drafts in Cabinet Mission..Jinnah wanted grouping of provinces..Two provinces(Bengal and Punjab) were muslim majority with significant non-muslim minority population with respectively 43% and 48%..Jinnah wanted the voting rights for only muslim populations in case of plebisite being held for these two states to exit out..He didn't want the non muslims to be given voting rights in case of a plebisite being held..

We Indians are in a peculiar habit rather tradition of responding with and to half-truth. Who insisted” भारत भाग ना होले उ बांगला होतेहुए हबे”
    Was it theBritish Ruler?
    Was it Zimba?
    Was it Nehru?
    No
The political person who insisted on division of the then Bengal Province was none but DrShyamaPrasad Mukherjee?
Tell this too why hide it?
DrBhim Rao Ambedkar had wriiten had India not been divided Muslims could have dominance in numerical sense which was not good for India!
Therefore we know and hate Zinaa but why should we adore those who were equally if not less responsible for the division and the happenings good or bad wrapped there in..
Why has theBritish been praised but Muslims called kata circumscribed andHindus great in Anandamath and Hindus deliberately chose banay Mataram as our national song?
Tell all these truths let listeners decide and find who landed us into the Indian inferno with nothing but egoistic mental state to live in?
If u denounce jinna that will be ok but to forgive Mukherjee it will be genoccidal meshing up

I am glad that you are happy !! Indians too need to be eternally grateful to Jinnah.
If he - in his shortsightedness had not created partition - Muslims currently will be 40% of the population of the state of combined India - and so a dominant force within. :-)
And perhaps they would also be the most well educated and leaders of the Muslim world. :-)
So thanks to Jinnah - the Muslim population in the sub-continent now lies fractured and fragmented.
And BTW - even population size does not matter. Look how just 11 million Jews - more than over-dominate and crush the 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide. :-)
