What’s the movie Top Gun about?
U.S. Naval Aviator Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) and his Radar Intercept Officer Nick "Goose" Bradshawis (Anthony Edwards) are sent to attend TOPGUN, the Naval Fighter Weapons School at Naval Air Station Miramar. The day before starting their training, Maverick unsuccessfully approaches a woman. He learns the next day that she is Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood (Kelly McGillis), a TOPGUN instructor. When Charlie hears about Maverick’s inverted maneuver with the MiG-28, she starts gaining interest in him. During training sessions, Maverick quickly stands out by his skill but also by his recklessness. He becomes a rival to the top student, the cool and collected Tom "Iceman" Kazansky (Val Kilmer), who considers Maverick's attitude "foolish" and his flying "dangerous".

@@strikerbowls791 He's not ridiculed, per se, but I don't know whether by choice or chance, he seems to play the same character in every movie. It's a very cool character, no doubt, but he doesn't act - it's basically him.
The only time I saw him act was when he played Les Grossman.

Yeah I think Tom is actually much closer to the camera in that last shot giving the illusion he’s just as tall. They don’t look like they are looking at each other.
