For thousands of years, Crowley has waited for Aziraphale as he catches up to Crowley's ideas. And Aziraphale always does. #goodomens #aziraphale #crowley #lovethrougtheages
In a GO promotional interview, Michael Sheen and David Tennant were asked what their respective character (Aziraphale and Crowley) love most about the other character. They each said that that they liked the things the most that also irritated them the most. For Aziraphale, it was Crowley's constant questioning and rule-breaking which Aziraphale find scandalous but irritatingly thrilling and captivating. For Crowley, it was Aziraphale's steadiness and consistency, which Crowley simultaneously hates and finds reassuring (much to his annoyance and he'd never admit it to Aziraphale).
i really love the "you go too fast for me" line because it describes such a fundamental difference between the two, crowley is always moving fast (in his car and in life) and aziraphale prefers to take his time (e.g. wearing the same clothes for centuries)
Aziraphale has a bit of trouble adapting, but he loves how fast Crowley is. Crowley introduces him to new things and brings excitement into his existence.
I think what's interesting is that, yeah, Crowley flawed and still has things to learn for sure, but he's farther along in his growth than Aziraphale is a lot of ways. Crowley lost his connection to Heaven a long time ago, so he's not burdened with the same kinds of fears and insecurities that Aziraphale is. After all these years, I think Aziraphale is still struggling to reconcile his conditioning with the things he learned through experience. And part of him remains afraid that loving Crowley is wrong. But Crowley doesn't care if loving Aziraphale is wrong. He never has.
Seriously! Crowley chooses Aziraphale at the risk of death or punishment. Aziraphale (I think) would choose the same but definitely struggles since he loves Heaven (or the idea of it) so much.
@@AziraleyLove I think it's maybe not Heaven specifically that Aziraphale loves, but God. He understands the system of Heaven is flawed, but still has faith in its potential because he still wants to believe in the Almighty's Ineffable Plan. He is also, at his core, someone who strives to do good, and it isn't in his nature to walk away when he believes he has a chance to make a difference. At the end of the day, I think he's coming from a good place, but he's still naive in a lot of ways. I don't think he's going to have as much power in Heaven as he hopes he will, especially given everyone immediately turned on Gabriel the minute he suggested he wasn't interested in helping with the Second Coming. Admittedly, that's something I really wish Crowley had thought to mention lol. But he was too wrapped up in his hurt and desperation, I guess.

I agree. Sometimes I want to yell at Aziraphale for it but, that's what makes this all so great.

@@catfancier270 we all need someone like that (or the opposite if we are the crowley)

Crowley knows about Judgement Day first hand , can see thats why he wasn't complete on board to join Fell to be a angel again.
