Battle Beyond The Stars manages to tell a story that Zack Snyder needed a two-part movie for in less than two hours.

NOICE. My comment saying Battle Beyond the Stars was better than Rebel Moon while still having a ship with a rack, but using the "B" word for that, was removed by CZcams. Given other things I see on CZcams comment wise I really have low faith in the efficacy of their mod efforts.
'Battle Beyond the Stars' got it right where 'Rebel Moon' failed.

Battle Beyond the Stars is maybe the best movie on this list, looks like $20 million a $2 million dollar budget and is still better than Rebel Moon I call that three for three
I saw Battle Beyond the Stars and Empire Strikes back as a double feature in Reno as a kid. It was great.
It's wild how long I've watched this show for, and it's still kept its quality!

Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon isn't nearly as good or interesting looking than Roger Corman forty years prior and a fraction of the budget.

I'm still ashamed that I first encountered James Horner's music for this in one of the Roger Corman films it was reused in ("Space Raiders".)
Battle beyond the stars, to me, anyway, is one of the most enjoyable b movies ever made. Is it cheesy? Yes it is but it’s the kind of cheesy that gives me the warmest fuzziest feeling . it is the reason I am a Corman fan.
We had battle beyond the stars on tape as a kid. Used to watch it a bunch :)

You can ways tell a James Cameron designed ship. He made that one sketch of a whale as drawn by Soriyama and he as stuck with it ever since.

Hmm, keep in mind that the Akira Kurosawa imitation films are different from a typical Mockbuster. A typical Mockbuster is a cash in which gets released shortly before a big movie. Most obviously, they’re not direct ripoffs of Akira Kurosawa’s own movies either. Sorry for my rambles, but not all #mockbusters are created equal anyways.

Much of the dialogue between the Not-Solo brothers is them awkwardly flirting with each other and It. Is. Majestic.

8:12 that's 1970s mr. World winner Steve Davis. Uncredited- or was when i last looked this up. He and Frank Zane (3 time mr. Olympia winner) started acting in another fantasy/scifii i assume for Corman, but never was completed. Edit: found it, was called "sagan"

You know, I've always thought Rebel Moon is just like a bootleg Star Wars movie and now I'm more convinced of that, it has a better budget, but half the soul of Turkish Star Wars

My favorite Roger C financed flick is forever Suburbia. Grew up a punker, can't help it. But still, I love his (forgive the pun) canon, so much b-movie fun in there. And he kept a generation of mid tier actors employed the whole time!

I live in Germany and ALL the Turks here love and laugh at Turkish Star Wars. The second part is alright but the first too corny. Is it posible to review the original 42nd st./ art film/ sword & sandal/ Guccione produced porno epic Caligula? It checks so many boxes and it was recently re-constructed into a decent flick which won a award at Canne last year.
Even if all the Turks laugh at the Turkish Star Wars, it does not give it any sort of "cultural excuse", if such a thing exists. I am originally from Soviet Union and the crap soviet movies are something everyone from there should be shamed for having ever liked. I think same goes for Turkish made bad movies.
