Built one of these for a 55 gallon rain barrel and couple of tips...make sure your air pump is above the water level so no potential for water to feed back into the compressor motor. Also, I set up a pvc valve between the downspout for the bottom ring and the downspout that goes into the tea bag...this allows u to adjust the pressure between the bottom ring and the amount of air blowing thru the bag of composted material. Also, how do u plan to distribute the tea? We installed a thru fitting with a hose end to allow us to either gravity drain or hook up a pump to spray onto our beds...works awesome and makes it MUCH easier to clean as well (critical to keep this clean between uses so bad bacteria doesn’t breed).

Here’s a link to pics of ours if interested in the tweaks mentioned above. instagram.com/p/CDuefljAP_D/?igshid=h5sdmod9cpxi
Also built a cool spray wand out of pvc

Great video ☺️, im building one right this moment. I was watching different videos to see how people distribute the holes for air flow. Everyone seems to do it differently.

Good video, dude! I built the same one but fitted to a Brute 20 gal. I added a cross bar to the bottom piece for more aeration. Seems to work really well. Project had lots of modification but glad I did it.

That is a massive tank. While I have seen some videos Im not versed in that. All I can say is the obvious, you will need a much bigger pump but I would probably suggest two pumps (or more for aeration). If you decide to build it please keep in touch, would love to see the end product. Thanks for watching.

I can’t find that plan for the brewer any more, how long did you cut the pvc that sits on the bottom?

Looks good Rick. I am sure you will post another video when you load the compost material in it and then another when you harvest the finished compost tea.

Absolutely OAG, While I have done a couple 5-gallon videos this will be a first. BTW, I took a whiff of the Comfrey brew while finishing this video, WHEW...talk about stinky. It is breaking down extremely well though. Another week and it will be ready to put on the veggies and turf.

Thanks, Amanda, it was definitely a fun build. I'll be putting the first round of nutrients in it tomorrow (hopefully). My dad is and brother is coming out for Fathers Day so not sure if time will allow. I will record the process though. I have done compost tea videos in the past but not of this scale. Thanks for watching.

Hi Rick I've watched your video about four times today. I wish you live right up the road so you can help me and my friend Rose put it together. By the way her husband's name is Rick Wyatt. Anyway how did you get a printed copy of those plans? We have tried to print them and they want $9.50 monthly to join a channel and we don't want to pay $9.50 a month for something we just want a copy of. how did you get your copy?

@@rickwyattdotnet hey Rick my brand new friend. We got it!!! Thank you so very much. It makes a world of difference to be able to hold it in your hand and look at it. We are upgrading to a 55 gallon drum so the dimensions will be a little bit different but the results will be the same thank you ever so much. And my old friend Rick Wyatt said to tell my new friend Rick Wyatt " hello buddy!"
