Hello! Thank you very much for this video, just did this on my Renault Trafic to get injector 4 out and it worked perfectly!! Took a few minutes of warming up and some revs and suddenly it POPPED right out of there! I would like to warn others though that in doing this I bent the metal fuel line from the rail to the injector. It worked fine but I did have to push and pull it and bend it around to get it back in there!
Luke Nope that’s exactly what happened to my fuel rail pipe, that’s why I suggested leaving the injector clamp loosely fitted. Really glad to be able to help you out👍🏻😁
Brilliant. It would probably work on all these stuck injectors, just a matter of time. And leaving it running for hours is better than struggling for hours.
This short video gave me a big help Mark. I couldn't remove any of all 4 injectors when engine cold. I'll do it as you saying. Loosen the clamp and leave it there in case it won't fly out😉 Hopefully i get it out. Cheers pal👍👍👍
I'm looking at buying the traffic sl27 dci 2.5 , I hope I don't need to use this amazing advice, but if I do I thank you in advance... brilliant mate 👍🏻
this is brill, and i have just watched loads of vids before this one on different evasive methods using tons of pressure removal kits to do this and you,,, all be it,,, with the advisory of a mechachanic made it look so simple lol Nice one .... Irish Benz
i have to change my injector seal on number 2 injector, so this will be a big help as its leaking diesel, so it has likely built up the crust like yours.
Thanks Vercos007, I took it to an Autospark and he done a diagnostic test he told me it was injector no 2, a guy that works for Renault told me work from nearside to offside when numbering the injectors. So number 1 injector is furthest right (with bonnet up lookin in engine bay) hope this helps 😉
Thanks for the reply, a whistle sound to me points to the turbo, I had a diesel focus that started to whistle, an it turned out to be the turbo needing replaced.
Good luck Steven, if you just loosen the injector clamp rather than totally remove it, the pipes to the fuel rail won't bend like one of mine did. let me know how you get on. Thanks Mark.
I take it you leave the fuel rail connected to that injector whilst doing this just remove the electrics? Stupid question i know but my m8s van is has same prob in injector one and he has been quoted silly money to replace it. Many thanks for the video.
Hi Mark, very helpful as my 2006 trafic goes fine but takes ages to start, Im thinking its a leaking injector thats not allowing the pressure to build up in the fuel rail. How did u find out which injector it was? Trial and error? Anyway thanks for sharing
Hi just watched your intresting vid, you disconected the problem injector loosened the clamp then started the engine, does disconecting the wiring plug stop that injector spraying fuel into the cylinder? Problem i have is white smoke im trying to identify which injector is the culprit and i was wondering if i start the engine then disconect connector plug to an injector 1 at a time, would it tell me which injector is faulty ie white smoke stops, thats presuming theres only 1 faulty injector causing the white smoke, smels like un burnt diesel.
Hi i got the aa out and they found no 4 injector fault and did a test on it with multimeter to confirm im trying tomorrow my neighbour mechanic doesnt believe its possible i will show him im even more adamant now to do it What size torx spline tool for that clamp marc please got to get bus to auto shop for the tool
Thanks for sharing! Did your mechanic say this method works on most cars or this particular model? I couldn't shift mine 2yr ago then had to get a garage to change the seal(£50), agree not much info when I was searching either
Yeah diagnostic did give a number for the one with the fault, then the auto spark pointed it out in the engine after the diagnostic test, so I could remove it myself.
Hi Mark, I have a 2002 trafic dci. Has random starting faults. Then driving, randomly cuts out and won't start. Low fuel pressure. Around 50 to 60 bar. Does this sound the same fault as yours?
@@marksmotorcycle375 that's the problem not sure if it's the pump or injectors. Could end up costing loads and not sure if it will be fixed. Thanks for replying bud.
Cheers boss I've just bought a Renault trafic same engine and although it's running fine sort of lol I've noticed around injector number 3 same one on the video and there's like a hard tar substance around it so I assume it's leaking do you know if they are a straight swap or coded
It sounds like it’s leaking, that black tar like substance is hardened diesel, I got a lend of an injector setting tool, re ground it and put a new copper washer in, that sealed it and stopped the leak, TBH, I don’t know if they are coded.
Kasparas Baksys it should work, its the pressure build up in the engine that forces them out, remember to just loosen the injectors retaining clamp otherwise it could do some damage if it flys straight out .
Thanks Andy, the method was recommended by an experienced mechanic, I was willing to try anything at the time.

Thanks for the reply, it was actually a mechanic who said to do it this way, he had done many times previously and been successful everytime.
Oh my goodness! That is absolutely genius!
Shane Jansen van Vuuren thank you
Top advice. Just did it on my trafic 2003 van 30mins later popped out 👍
Paul Gough great stuff, glad to help👍🏻
Brilliant. It would probably work on all these stuck injectors, just a matter of time. And leaving it running for hours is better than struggling for hours.
Good luck Ian, just remember to loosen the injector clamp, don't remove it completely incase the injector flies out. Keep me posted.
Thanks Typey1, the garage said they wud try this on any injector that was stuck. thanks for watching!
Absolutely brilliant! Was thinking along the same lines and was about to try this when I saw this video.
Good luck hope it works out for you.

Yeah. Its out. Thanks again. Its really worth!!! Spot on mate👍👍👍
Thanks mate! Today i did the same an a 2.5 . Worked perfect!
Jordy de reus great, glad my video helped you out, 👍🏻
Hi Mike did you remove jet line fuel return plus clamp and electric feed
So everything to that injector
I'm looking at buying the traffic sl27 dci 2.5 , I hope I don't need to use this amazing advice, but if I do I thank you in advance... brilliant mate 👍🏻
Chris whitlow thank you, and i hope you don’t need to do this on yours. Good luck with it!

darren hill, thankyou very much for your comments.
Fantastic. Thanks Marks Motors. I guess this explains why glow plugs need a bit of heat when removing - to soften gunk?
thanks fella did the same as you and it popped out brilliant thanks
Great advice thanks for sharing
i have to change my injector seal on number 2 injector, so this will be a big help as its leaking diesel, so it has likely built up the crust like yours.
Simple to reseal as long as you get the injector out. Good luck.
Thank you!
same van same problem, gona give this a go seeing as a garage wants £2000 + to swap the injectors out for new ones..
Thanks Vercos007, I took it to an Autospark and he done a diagnostic test he told me it was injector no 2, a guy that works for Renault told me work from nearside to offside when numbering the injectors. So number 1 injector is furthest right (with bonnet up lookin in engine bay) hope this helps 😉
that is also good too know as you would expect it to be the other way around..
really helpful mate thanks, im having a loud whistleing sound once im above 2.5 thousand revs,i think this is going to be my injectors,
Thanks for the reply, a whistle sound to me points to the turbo, I had a diesel focus that started to whistle, an it turned out to be the turbo needing replaced.
Good luck Steven, if you just loosen the injector clamp rather than totally remove it, the pipes to the fuel rail won't bend like one of mine did. let me know how you get on. Thanks Mark.
if the injector is leaking you should see a hard black build up around it, it looks like hard black plastic.
Hi great video did you reconnect the fuel pipe to the side of the injector when you ran the engine? Thanks
I take it you leave the fuel rail connected to that injector whilst doing this just remove the electrics?
Stupid question i know but my m8s van is has same prob in injector one and he has been quoted silly money to replace it.
Many thanks for the video.
rct2 yeah, but just loosen the injector clamp don’t remove it altogether, there is a chance the injector would fly out and hit the bonnet otherwise.
Nice one Robert, glad to help.
Gentleman. Thanks for sharing.
Good video thx. I have the same engine and the car pulsating during acceleration .Did you had any of this symptom before it get worse?
chiccoka thanks for the comment, not that I can remember, though “pulsating “ could be the engine getting starved of fuel, just a guess though.👍🏻
@@marksmotorcycle375 thx m8. I think i need to do a bottle test
Appreciate

A lot safer if you undo the clamp so it is loose but the bolt is still in a few turns . that way it can come loose but not fly out
and bend the high pressure line
Thanks for this. How did you establish which injector was causing the problem?
Stephen Vedmore Hi, a mechanic ran a diagnostic test using a snap on device, and that one showed up as the fault.
Jeeeez, mate! thanks for that amazing video and thanks for sharing it. very helpful.
Hawrry Jaff Thankyou very much, glad to help😀
great idea fella👍

Good stuff, I hope all goes well for you.
What size is the torx you used for the clamp
Just to know what size socket spline to remove clamp please
Anyone had any luck with this method on injectors that are rusted in solid due to water ingress?
really good. I have had quotes of £1,000 for this. Will give your method a good and fingers crossed>
handy very handy!!!!

Gr8 video Did diagnostics tell you which one it was.. Which one is 4 and which one is one?
Yeah diagnostic did give a number for the one with the fault, then the auto spark pointed it out in the engine after the diagnostic test, so I could remove it myself.
@@marksmotorcycle375 thanks.. Is no1 on the left?
@@marksmotorcycle375 new maf sensor and no3 injector needed.. Getting done today.. Hope it comes out in one piece.
Update... New maf sensor and wire to n03 injector fixed.. Running sweet. 😁😁
Didn't work for me sadly I've been driving around for 2weeks with no clamp 😢
Any Ideas on cleaning the gunk left in the injector hole?
and then you let it run on how many rpm?
Hi Mark, I have a 2002 trafic dci. Has random starting faults. Then driving, randomly cuts out and won't start. Low fuel pressure. Around 50 to 60 bar. Does this sound the same fault as yours?
No sorry, your problem is different to mine, low fuel pressure could be your pump, though I’m not a mechanic. Hope you get it sorted though.
@@marksmotorcycle375 that's the problem not sure if it's the pump or injectors. Could end up costing loads and not sure if it will be fixed. Thanks for replying bud.

I read they don't need coding on the 1.9
i hate my van with a passion have a love hate relationship like lol
can you unscrew the clamp and then go driving with it?
What I did was drive it to warm it up, then parked up, loosened the clamp and let it tick over, I wouldn’t drive it with the clamp loose.
Would running on 3 pistons be harmful?
Martin Meaney To be honest ive no idea, if mine was running on 3 cylinders I'd have a mechanic look at it, sorry I can't be more helpful.
Did you try a puller before hand?
No I didn’t, I don’t have any special tools, all I did was exactly as I said in the video. Thanks for watching.
Nice)
hi will this work for a 2.0 cdti model ?
Kasparas Baksys it should work, its the pressure build up in the engine that forces them out, remember to just loosen the injectors retaining clamp otherwise it could do some damage if it flys straight out .
