From the Vault: Clarke's record breaking 329*

- In January 2012, Clarke became the fifth Australian to score a Test triple century. The skipper came to the crease with the Aussies in a spot of bother but dug in to produce a classic innings

The video started with Australia 3/38 and finished with Australia 4/659. Meaning from that point Australia got 1/621. Literally incredible
Bruh clark, ponting, hussey combination. Too good
@@ricksanchez1527 poor you who has nothing better to do than making desperate attempts to insult others. Must be living a sad life.
@@gurdialsingh9863 I think in this case your username is very fitting 😂
You are right but What a sad life getting hurt about what a random person says on the internet
Credit goes to our pathetic bowling
what was overlooked in this test is pontings and husseys innings.
RonnyDonny13 India only made 191 tho
To be fair, the video title is pretty much bang-on...
pontings was memorable
Zac Trenerry Husseys, if I member correctly Ponting have to save his career.
It was ponting who initated the fightback that gave clarke and husset the confidence to dominate the indian attack
The best thing about this innings was how unselfish it was. Clarke could've easily made 400+ but he declared early in order to give his team the best possible chance.
Ben Faulkner he declared out of respect for Don Bradman not to beat his high score
@@JohnnyBeGood354 then he would have declared at 399
He was on full form, he was on 329. It was third day. He needed only 21 to score 350 atleast, and 71 more for 400 and break brain Lara's record that too in large ground like Sydney.
If one has to rank true cricketers, M. Clarke would stand top and Sachin Tendulkar will stand last.

@@saurabhvimal1008 Bradman scored 334...you need to read cricket history 101...
One of the greatest displays of batting in any single innings, not just by Clarke (who was extraordinary) but by Ponting and Hussey also. 4/659 is truly astonishing

In 80% of matches in overseas, Indian batting was completely flopped when virat scored less than 10 runs...😲😲
Itna dependent to Australia bhi nhi hai smith par... In recent years only pujara is giving some support to virat otherwise all other batsmens are very poor...
The result of this match also shows the same result 😓😓
One of most underrated legend of Australia is Michael Clark and all will forget one thing that he is the 2015 World Cup winning captain.... Simply incredible just one word to describe this inning is unbelievable......
He could even break Lara's 400 that day but he declared and sacrificed the inning so that Australia had enough time to bowl out opponent.... That is the beauty of Aussie Cricket.... ❤️from #India
Tampering with the ball. The beauty of aussie cricket....

@Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews lol the pitch is not cheating. You guys just don't know how to bat on a turning track...not our fault 😅
His footwork is incredible.
I remember seeing this in a shopping centre. A bunch of blokes had gathered around a TV in a cafe and when he hit the 300 the place erupted in a shared moment of pride and recognition of a great achievement. Nice to run across it here.
Michael Clarke is An Underrated Legend.
He is no less than Matthew Hayden.
Hayden is destructive too

I love how both Clarke and Ponting made a ton, i will forever remember their partnership. two of the greatest Aussie captains.
Even Mike Hussey
It was a pleasure to watch Clark's & Virat's innings in this series
I am a diehard Indian Cricket Fan, and I have watched some of Tendulkar's and Dravid's best innings, but this is my favourite. He is the reason I bat the way I bat and he is the reason I made a CZcams channel, so I could comment on this thread. Michael Clarke you are truly a champion and a great ambassador to the game.

possibly the greatest innings in test cricket that i have ever seen. he did not mis-time a single shot... everything was out of the middle.... it was beautiful. the only way it could have been better would have been against england lol
Yep, in the ashes haha, but this was a superb innings, to top it off, he was doing it alongside his former captain, who was just as brilliant to watch.
After what has so far happened in the 2020/21 series. I miss these days.
A team of beauties.
That team will be back mate don't worry. Just one bad series
One of the most stylish batsmen in cricket history
This was the greatest summer of batting. Loved the back to back tons by him & punter
Brilliant knock. I will never forget those horror memory of 2012. In an absolutely flat Australian pitch India's line length and field placing was like that on green pitch in England. Bowlers had pace ,but bowled too outside off or at leg stump, didn't use the crease a lot.
When your lead bowlers are Varun Aaron and Umesh Yadav, there's very less that you could do
Michel clark... The man who scored 100 in his test debut.. Both in home and away..🔥🔥🔥🔥

As a West Indian, when I'm asked who is my favourite Australian batsman, Michael Clarke, is always my reply. The man was just easy on the eyes and a gritty player. This innings was one of the most flawless triple hundreds I have ever seen.
I remember being 8 years old and watchig this. Absolutely sublime, watching ricky ponting, michael clarke and michael hussey bat. Absolutely brilliant.

It was a late career knock from Ponting that steadied the ship after 3 early wickets. Clarke's onside play in this innings was just gorgeous.

Best video in the youtube history lots of love from the beautiful country NEPAL🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Worst days for indian cricket. An uninterested captain, ageing senior players, worst fast bowling attack and a defensive mindset. Ever since kohli was made the captain this kind of thing has never ever happened again to us.
From 2014 to 2019 kohli scored 3,4 runs in all semi finals n one final
@@harisahmed3771 u still arent over that,. Get a life asshole
I don't think many players would sacrifice a crack at the record books for the good of the team. A great innings from Clarke, but I think he had enough time to score a few more runs, at least till tea. 7 innings should've been enough to bowl India out, the extra hour wouldn't make much of a difference.
Tremendous batting from Mr. Michael Clark. Love and respect from Bangladesh. 😍😍😍

Absolute legends!
This is how we used to get hammered overseas in tests under Dhoni's Captaincy. Thankfully things have changed for the better now.. dominated Australia in 2 consecutive series in their backyard.
Why there was no sticker on his bat. I remembered that after this triple hundred innings he got Spartan as a bat sponsor.
Yes, i believe that it was still the Slazenger bat but because his contract was up with them he played without the stickers on it (still using Slazenger gloves) then he played with spartan the game after this (and slazenger stickers the game before)
I did doubt Clarke as Captain but this proved me wrong completely. What i want is consistency. I don't expect him to get hundreds every innings but when Ponting became captain he scored hundreds quite regularly and then went on to make double hundreds too. Clarke needs to perform like that, make a 50, get a hundred, get a hundred make 150+ even 200.
this series was just a nightmare for all of us.. pure domination by Australia in all bowling batting and fielding
One of the best cricketer of his time it was pleasure see him bat
India's bowling was horrendous in that series. Bowling a full line and too wide outside off. Remember that horror 2012 series where only Kohli got a ton. We had good batsmen but their bowlers were up to the task. The less said about our bowling the better. Nothing to take the credit away from Clarke though. 300+ is no joke. You still have to score those runs and he capitalized on the poor bowling efforts. A marathon innings to dig Australia out of the pit, into the sun and dry India's bowlers out. One for the ages.
Then india won back to back 10 years later crazy the time. I’ve been following ind vs aus for a while. I remember 2011-12 series and I saw the 2020-21 series it really is amazing how the Indian team has changed in 10 years
