"you get a cable, and even a controller" oh boy, nintendo sure is getting generous nowadays
nintendo is trash look how expensive that plastic controller is
All controllers are made of plastic. Nintendo isn't trash and the pro controller isn't either
@@mastaherosockureye6377 nintendo is trash asf lol

Got this when I bought my Switch during last Christmas when some games were on sale, honestly my favorite controller in a while due to overall comfort and design.
True
And donât forget itâs natively supported on steam too!
so is every other controller ever lol
Itâs a Nintendo Xbox controller basically
@@sanane66543 Not the PS4 one
Eduardo Becerra yes it is dummy
@@itzdivinity5988 Xbox controllers are Microsoft GameCube controllers.
Playing shooters on the Switch is almost impossible for me using the Joycons. Got a pro controller yesterday and I would argue that it's a must have accessory. And that's coming someone with tiny hands.
Controller will be $49.99 instead of $69.99 because of Father's Day.

1:03 Finally, someone mentions that problem with CZcams on the switch! Itâs sooo annoying!
I have a pro controller too. Had it since Christmas. It's a Smash Bros. Edition. It's the best controller for the Switch, in my opinion. When I play games like Smash and Mario Kart, it's feels great. The Joy-Cons are good too, but they could get a little uncomfortable at times. Pressing/holding the buttons and analog sticks tend to hurt my thumbs a little. Why the hell are they so tiny...? Glad to own a pro controller! I recommend one for everybody.
EDIT: Or at least one of those USB controllers. I got one for myself. It was also a Christmas present. A Pikachu wired fight pad pro. Looks similar to a GameCube controller. I recommend one of those too, but be aware. It's doesn't have motion control and rumble(which I can tolerate). Don't use it in games like Mario Odyssey, or else you'll have a few disadvantages. Like moves and stuff.
I used a Fight Pad Pro for a long time, but in Smash I started getting ghost air dodges... I've switched to an original GameCube controller. It's so good, and I'm not going back.
gamecube controller for smash pro everything else
Iâm gonna get a notch replacement plate(?) for my pro controller
I have a smash bros switch
Christian Marrero I honestly hate the joycons. They look nice, but they donât feel too great. They also feel pretty cheap, considering my sister broke a button on one of mine and she has almost no physical strength.
2:12 "And even a controller" Yeah buddy that tends to be what's inside the picture on the package
Maybe its Sarcasm?
Woosh (?)
Clearly sarcasm.
I know exactly what you mean about the goosebumps feeling. Every Nintendo dpad with that strange texture has given me an instinctive feeling of disgust somehow.
I actually bought my Pro controller months before I bought a Switch, and thatâs because the Pro controller actually works really well with Steam!
Yeah me too!
And steam uses the light if the button home đ
I don't have a PC yet, but do a good amount of games on Steam allow you to use the built in motion controls of the Pro Controller?
ChironTheCuddley You can configure the motion controls to do anything. Games typically donât have motion control built in so youâd have to manually set it so you can use the motion controls.
@@Long1Shot Sweet. At least it's possible! Thank you for letting me know.
The Switch Pro Controller is amazing.
The d pad is complete garbage though.
ThreeFingerG not complete, just...
Fine
Its literally just a Xbox controller
Nope, Xbox controller has no gyro, AA batteries, analogue triggers and Xinput.
Audiovisual i think he meant just the looks of it, not the features
I also recently purchased a pro con. I agree the location of the +, -, capture, and home buttons should be switched. I sometimes press capture instead of - or press home instead of +. Aside from that I really like the pro con.
I find the Pro controller to be a necessity for the Switch. Very comfortable and great battery life. I also canât stand the joy cons in TV or table top mode. Overall a fantastic controller and in my opinion Nintendoâs best.
Quick question -- can you use the pro controller in handheld mode?
forastero54321 yea it works unless you use airplane mode.
@@racerboyo thanks
But does the Pro controller have the same drifting issues that the Joy-Cons have? I've heard either or, and since I have drift in my Joy-Cons I REALLY need a different controller, but if this has drift as well, I won't bother with it!
BigAlvideos101 Iâve had mine since April and havenât had any drift.
Nice review! I recently got one and it's a massive difference to me when playing in docked mode. The biggest plus for me is that the ABXY buttons are offset with the right analog stick so it follows the natural sweep of my thumb, with the Joycons the buttons are directly above the analog stick which feels way unnatural to me. Joycons are great in a pinch though, like when I take my Switch to work for lunch breaks and don't want to bring along an extra bulky controller. A lot of people complain about the directional pad but I haven't had any issues. All this being said, the Microsoft Elite controller is still the undisputed king of controllers, but then again, it cost 2X as much! (but man I do love it).
I like to use the 8bitdo controllers as my "go to" controllers, the N30 pro if I'm traveling or the SF30 Pro if I'm at home. They also sync up with your PC or Mac and Android device. Also, if you can get your hands on the original NES30pro or FC30pro you can also sync them up to your PS3, Wii and Wii U as well as what's listed above

"you get a cable, and *even a controller* "
Lucas Martin lmao
i've been enjoying mine for a while now, very happy i got it! :D i would have enjoyed for the ZL & ZR buttons had "travel" to them for racing games. :/
Got this back in July 2017. Itâs held up well! And it feels so good!
You feel so good
Congratulations
Now you're playing with power
This cost 375âȘ for me when I got it.
That's about 100$ for you Americans.
Ferociously expensive but it works perfectly and never runs out of battery, the controller has no physical flaws whatsoever.
3:16 Youâre actually right, they had a spring inside and that design is a major contributor to that âstick moving on itâs ownâ issue
I freaking hate it
walked off a mountain in botw
@@edmund8954 yup definitely needs fixing
I'm also enjoying using it on PC, the native compatibility makes it a viable option to play games on steam like rocket league
I actually got my pro controller on Sunday from my local Best Buy and they were having a sale Iâm pretty sure itâs because of E3 but Iâm not to sure, but they had pro controllers on sale for 50 dollars and I managed to snag one up when I went over their, it was so worth it!
I got the Switch for Christmas 2017 and my Pro controller for my birthday in 2018.
I picked up both vc games a while back but haven't gotten onto 4 yet, looks awesome so might stick around!
Also I completely understand, I picked up a pro controller for it but it just didn't sit right with me for the price so I went with an N30 Pro 2 from 8bitdo which does the job for now.
P. S. I found a workaround for always running. Use the D pad (or buttons) to slowly walk in any direction, works a treat.
I got my Pro Controller a few months after my Switch, and it really felt special; only using these (let's face it) imperfect joy-cons for ages, it really felt like a step up. The d-pad still feels a bit spongey for me, having recently started playing a lot of the NES classics it can make a huge difference in terms of precision, so I prefer to play those in handheld mode
Edit: lost it at "red condom of the Wii Mini"
The one thing that knocks the Pro Controller down below the 360 pad for me is the tiny grips. Carpal tunnel all day.
This is only a con for people with big hands.
For people with medium hands or small hands, it is perfect.
I love my Pro controller. I've had it for over 1.5 years. I bought it at the same time as my Switch.
If you feel the Dpad's left and right inputs are unreliable, I would look up the tape mods for the Pro controller to reduce the accidental inputs.
"you get a cable, and even a controller!" lol
The switch pro definitely feels better made. The rattly buttons on the Wii U pro were a bit annoying, and it also only had one weak rumble motor
ok, so on the note of goosebumps from weird textures.
I got a Yoshi Wii Remote last Christmas, and the texture on the back is different from normal wii remotes.
It made me feel like I was gonna throw up, no word of a lie. Silicone Case solved the problem, naturally.
the Pro Controller is the most comfortable and nicely design controller iâve ever used
i also love to use the controller for Steam games, itâs my go to controller for games now and makes me wish i can use it for my ps4 lol
If your not playing a ps4 exclusive and itâs a single player game and you donât care about progress, just buy an Xbox or use the pro controller on steam, it works with most games, I think gta5 is one of them, not sure tho cuz Iâve never played gta5 on pc
Nintendo should release a new Nintendo switch but with really improved joy cons
Iâve had switch for 2 months and Iâve only played in handheld mode. Partly because Iâve never owned a handheld before and itâs fun and because I donât own pro controller and I donât really like using the grip that comes with the switch. Iâm probably going to play docked on the tv when I get a pro controller or 1 of 2 devices that Iâve seen recently.
1 device will let you use any controller on the switch and the other device will let you use PS4 controller with detachable paddles, letting you do actions in game that you otherwise, couldnât.
I also like my Pro Controller, though I have to disagree on the D-Pad. Without the "adhesive tape mod" the D-Pad is way to sensitive. Open the "Test Input Devices" and wriggle just on the left side of the D-Pad. You will notice that you can also input up and down just by wriggling the left side. This can cause serious trouble in Tetris or precise plattformers. Tetris 99 even added a D-Pad mode to compensate this fault.
Got lucky on launch day and ran by Walmart just to check if they had any pro controllers and it was just good timing that they had just put an extra they had on the shelf.
The Switch Pro controller is my favorite controller since the Gamecube controller. I didn't think it would be better than the Dualshock 4 controller but I think it is. Especially since the battery lasts a lifetime compared to the DS4 controller.
My only complaint is there's no audio passthrough like the xbox and ps4 controllers. Aside from that, it's definitely a better dock experience as opposed to the joygrip.
I prefer 8bitdos adapter to use my X1/PS4 controller on the switch .
Same
the latency sucks tho
I got lucky with getting one of these controllers for 44$ cause it was open boxed at a local Walmart of mine. I love it
8BITDO makes some Super Nintendo and Super Famicom styled controllers which are Bluetooth and are compatible with the switch and steam. These controllers have R2, L2, triggers and have added control sticks with R3, L3. I personally have the SF30 Pro controller which I enjoy using for PC gaming, as a Nintendo fan the switch to PC was unspeakably easy due to the button remapping and the similar feel. the price ranges from $35-45 USD. I love these controllers and I highly recommend you look into them.
A giant problem with the pro controller is that when you release the analog stick, it bounces to the other side, messing with your directional input. The d-pad also keeps registering the wrong direction, completeley screwing you over regularily in many games.
Finally, the way you hold the pro controller makes your range of motion with motion controls less than 90°, which sucks in comparison to the (close to) 180° you get when holding a joy con.
I found it impossible to play Crypt of the Necrodancer with the pro controller, and like giving the pro controller to my «friend» whenever I play a multiplayer game.
Pro controller is an Xbox One controller with 2 extra buttons, motion controls and an Amiibo reader. The only thing it lacks is a battery door and throttled triggers.
I got mine last summer and I love it to bits. The first thing I noticed is that it felt SO GOOD the moment you pick it up, not sure if its the form factor or the weight of it, but something about the Pro Controller feels just right.
Also I would hope your box that says there's a controller in it would have a controller XD
Twice the Baka does the left joystick slide?
John Lizarraga haven't had an issue since I got it
They could have given us perforated leatherette grips at the price point.
If the pro controller had triggers it would be the best controller ever made for 3D games. The Super Nintendo on ps1 controllers are my favorite for 2d games.
Great timing for it to.
I got a Pro Controller from GameStop and the sticks were always drifting and the A Button was jammed. There wasnât even any soft packaging or a cable inside. It was obviously used and it mustâve been put back in a box and sold as new. I tried to return it. I even had my receipt but they just wouldnât take it back.
I would be pissed off
I got mine just today. I absolutely love it
I ordered this controller myself, and itâs coming in the mail tomorrow!
I just got a pro controller today.I had never even held one for 2 1/2 yrs..... Its great.except that you can press down on the d pad and still push the other directions
I honestly can't believe you didn't comment on the motion controls for Splatoon, there is a massive difference between the motion with the joycons vs the pro controller. Also, ffs use motion controls in that game, you're at a disadvantage if you don't. Analog sticks alone are inferior in pretty much every aspect for shooter games.
Is your old or new version? Mine was old version soo my dpad has problem where it randomly register up/down if i press left and right too quickly which make it impossible to do rhythm game
Was just thinking about getting one :) hope this solves some doubts
i think you should really get one! :D when i bought mine, i didn't even think it would make that big of a difference, but it totally does. my favorite games i play that feel awesome with the pro controller are skyrim, zelda, doom, and fast rmx.
But I still have some doubts, like, should I get a lower price version or something? I don't think it will be essential to have a controller or anything, and I'd buy some other games first. But also I could use it on PC, as I don't have any controllers. So I'm quite doubtful, but I got time to think.
Also now that you mention Doom, it has actually brought my attention, but I don't know if it would be a good purchase. I have never played Doom, but I think I would enjoy it, although the reviews bring me back (I think that means what I want it to)
That's another option, but I don't really know if I need the lower price, and I don't want to lose functions such as movement control (don't know its name)
Just got one today, and love it so far. Only played for like 4 hours, but probably the best controller ever. Also only 59.00 at Wal-Mart all the time
I kinda feel the buttons feel mushy even when it's box new I honestly like the clicky feel on abyx and hearing the spring ting on the r buttons means the action is perfect .
All The pro buttons feels mushy but it's responsive and doesn't seem to eat inputs.
It does kinda look cheap to be honest the screws showing in the bottom of the handles makes it look instantly used and they look kinda scuffed even new.
But so far it works well there sticks are solid and have no waggle when I'm button mashing in megaman and Metroid everything is registering perfect.
So 3/5look 4/5feel 5/5 on performance.
Bonus if you use a light and look under the top part of the right stick ring there's a hidden message . Says like thanx2gamers or something.
Reminds me of the 360 controller. That's good
I got my pro controller last Christmas and I absolutely love it
i have one pro controller and 2 gamecube controller im thinking buying other pro controller it for mulitplayer (2k19,fifa 19,smash,kart)
I wish you much fun with your Controller.đđ
Can you play docked without the cable in the controller?
Akroniz NEO The cable is just a charger
Just bought mine too. Get it Monday in mail. Hope $40 spent well. Also bought 8bitdo. 8bitdo are good but always a gamble. Iâve bought 3. 2 were duds and zero warranty.
Do you have a shortage over there? It costs 60⏠here. You could try the 8bitdo one, I really like it (sn 30 pro or sn30 pro+) doesn't have amibo support but I don't have any.
Edit: forgot it was Canadian dollars, so it's the same price.
Some people and most gamers (like me) this doesnât apply to everyone, but I donât like wireless controllers that need batteries, so the switch pro controller is a go to, a nice cable length for wired play to charge it, itâs wireless, it doesnât need batteries so you can save money and time going to the store, easy for portable play, and most importantly, it melts into your hand like c h e e s e, itâs so smooth after fiddling with it for about 3 hours
Please help:
I want ti buy a switch pro controller for use on the PS3, specifically for the vertical shmups. But i read ao many negative things about the D pad. Are they really that worse?
I had to get one for the turbo button. When you fish in Ys VIII you mash "A" too much and I wasn't here for that, especially the larger fish were awful
Best controller of all time
Thinking of getting this once I buy mario maker.. think it would help?
Mines was 20 bucks extra because it was the xenoblade chronicles 2 edition. I love mines, hopefully a pokemon sword shield version comes out
I've used probably every major consoles controller from the NES to the switch, except the xbox1, pro controller is easily my favorite of all time, GameCube a slightly distant second
That's funny, while I think the Switch pro is probably my favorite as well, the only one that I actually feel beats it is the XB1 controller.
how do you record your videos while playing games ?
I love the pro controller, especially *WHEN THE DAMN ANALOGS ARE FUCKED*
Letâs just say the joycons donât give me much âjoyâ
Yep, just got it in Christmas
What I hate about buttons in Switch is the plus minus button..
Hard to reach and the shape.. why donât they make it rounded or any shapes to make it more easier to press like on the pro controller..
2:10 "and even a controller!" Sounds like he didn't expect it đ
It's a joke because Nintendo is known for their rip-offs
An early prototype of the switch pro controller was glossy like the Wii u one
Is it normal for the procon to have these huge deadzones? Pls someone answer :( in menus I have to do a 40% input to get a reaction
the moment this video comes out 1 day after i got my first pro controller after 2 years lol
What I like about the Pro Controller unlike the PS4 controller is that Nintendo provides you a free cable
Lol I thought this was an RGT85 video. Not a diss to your channel at all .... it's just if you're know you know lol
I'm having a serious ghosting issue with the left joycon's joystick.
That's called a drift. You should send yours to repair, I did, but havent heard anything back (i live in norway, maybe the importer here isnt so good...)
3:28
Aiming with the sticks when gyro exists??
It is indeeed the best controller for the Nintendo Switch, but not the best controller of this generation overall. I recently bought an Xbox One Phantom White controller and its d-pad simply kicks the Switch pro d-pad's sore ass any day, also the shoulder buttons and analog sticks feel a little better on the Phantom White (interesting, since both controllers use the same "ALPS" parts there). I have the same standard black Switch Pro controller, and I must say, both controllers put together look really nice, black and white (both with a semi transparent finish), like yin and yang xD
Hal my only problem with the Xbox one controller for me is that the thumb sticks are kinda small compared to the switch pro and the ps4 DualShock
Has anyone experienced any drift on their pro controllers. I might get one this black friday
Just bought 2 because of the Amazon & Best Buy sale. Really good controller again like the WiiU pro. But when Nintendo, when are the triggers gonna be analog? Not a deal breaker but it is definitely odd. This controller is begging for some led lighting too.
I ordered a pro controller because after a couple years of using my joy cons one of them is SERIOUSLY drifting and I think 55 EUR for a pro controller is reasonable tho i still dont like the price. I hope it will be good. I play on my switch a lot
I buy me the pro-controller tomorrowđ
THANK YOU!!! 3:38 !! No one and I mean no one mentions that the triggers are not analog I can't believe people who review tech don't mention actual functionality, instead waste time with BS like: design, aesthetics, wow factor..
I think WiiU pro controller is nice controller
Do you need to plug it in to the TV to connect?
Welcome to the Master Race
Dumb question here....can you use the pro controller while the Nintendo switch is in portable mode?
Yes
Our Saucer Has These Grips
*Read this if you're looking to buy!*
I love the pro controller. It's so much better than the Xbox 360 controllers I previously used for everything, but I'd say it's on par with the Xbox One controller. Fit perfectly in the hand, with good grip and had a ton of features.
There's a few things that could've been done better though:
- The durability of the analog stick is dubious. You'll see a little bit of white dust forming (from grinding with the frame) after only a few months. A bit like the N64 controller... But not as bad.
- The D-Pad is mushy and imprecise. Ironically, I still prefer the joycons D-Pad buttons for that reason (much fewer wrong inputs while playing Tetris) not their best D-Pad implementation.
- The power ON-OFF/synchronize button (at the top) is very hard to press since it's so small and it's directly flush with the frame. I guess I have big fingers but still... They could have made them just a little bit more convenient.
- I've noticed that on my 2 pro controllers, so I think it's a design flaw: the bumper buttons (L and R) do not activate unless you press a _little_ harder than usual. I don't know why these ones are special, but it's a little annoying when I'm sit back, navigating through menu tabs, and some presses just don't register because I don't mash them down.
Overall a GREAT controller but some more testing and tweaks could've make it perfect.
Xnerdz Iâm looking to buy 2 for super Mario kart and Iâll also play oddysy and Zelda. Do you think itâs the best controller to buy or should I get a different one
In my opinion, it's the best out there. All the complains I have are minor. I also use them to play on Steam (PC) via Bluetooth. Until third party controllers nail the gyro, the HD-rumble, the battery life... this is the king of pro controllers so far. If ya wanna play Smash Ultimate though, get an adapter for GC controllers. These are still the best for _that_ specific game.
Hope it helped!
I like that you accidentally said horns and didn't edit it out. More YT videos need to give us raw, unedited information instead of jumpy overly cut videos.
PS4 Controller and adapter for me, though I wish it was type C.
I absolutely hate the joycons! There too small for me. My hand starts cramping up if I play for long sessions. The pro controller is a must for me.
Also the clicky buttons piss me off
Mouse GamingMC its so loud
@@howdyfucker443 yes mine have already worn out within 2 months. Whem i click my left joystick in. It sounds very loud and sqeaky compared to the right joystick i rarely pudh in
Mouse GamingMC itâs hard to play quietly
Just wait until your left stick stops working...
If u didnt get one with ur switch ur tripping.. pro controller is a must
I wouldn't say it's a must. I don't have any problems with the Joy Con Grip so I don't really have the incentive to buy the Pro Controller.
It's funny how I got one before a lot of people but still don't have a switch...
$90 CDN is quite an investment!!! Boxing Day they were on for $50 so I would just get a cheap wired pro controller in the mean time
