You didn't watch the end credit scene! It leaves the movie off on a massive cliffhanger. There are actually 3 books in the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies trilogy, and this only covers the first book.
Edit: This is my favorite Pride and Prejudice adaptation, and Mr. Collins always makes me laugh.
Yep, they lost the cliffhanger.
I hope they go back and watch that final scene! It really makes the viewer long for the sequel that didn't get made! What an awesome cliffhanger!!
This movie is underrated
"i don't believe in valentines day":--mrs. movies, she's a keeper! 😂
_Pride and Prejudice and Zombies_ (the book) is a mashup, using Austen's text with some of the text removed and different text added. It started a swarm of such books for a little while. Austen's "co-author," Seth Grahame-Smith, went on to write _Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter,_ which actually reads a lot like a real biography, oddly enough, and at least one sequel.
Charles Dance and Lena Headey and Matt Smith. A lot of Westerosi actors here. By the way, Headey is also in _Possession_ (a smallish part) with Jennifer Ehle (who was Lizzie in the _Pride and Prejudice_ miniseries), Jeremy Northam (who was Mr. Knightley in the 1996 _Emma),_ and Gwyneth Paltrow (who was Emma in the 1996 _Emma)._
Matt Smith is in this. He is great in Doctor Who and GoT : The House of Dragon. And he is great in this, for that matter. He is also in Morbius, but the less said about that movie the better.
Absolutely love this movie!
Extremely underrated masterpiece!
For a continuation of the Pride and Prejudice theme, there is always Bride and Prejudice - a Bollywood adaptation that follows the themes of the story. It's good fun and is one of the Mrs favourite films
It's fun juxtaposing Matt Smith's performance in this with Daemon in House of the Dragon.
Well, undergarments in the Regency is a whole different discussion.
I LOVE Lily James in Downton Abbey. So good
Matt Smith is fuckin fantastic in everything!!!
The scene with Darcy jumping into the pond is a nod to the Colin Firth Darcy who does the same thing... and then bumps into Elizabeth with his soaking wet clothes plastered to his body...which may be the reason he is so popular for his portrayal of Darcy!!! 😂
Mr. Movies is a very lucky man. Mrs. Movies has the humor, beauty, and sarcasm that anyone would want.
Good reaction guys. Austen's books are definitely in the public domain. She died in 1817. (Also making them older than The Wizard of Oz.)
I like this a lot more than the Kiera Knightley version, but not as much as the BBC version. Of the 3 Lizzys you mentioned,I like Lily James the best.
Up vote for the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice! It's by far my favorite adaptation...
See this is what the movie "The Princess" should've been like. 3:00- First movie, I saw Sam Riley in. Good actor.
After so many years of my mum trying to convince me to watch P&P & living a few minutes away from where most of the story is based & where much of the filming has happened, i recently watched the two main versions. The 1995 BBC show is by far the best to me & closest to the novel, despite a couple of minor annoyances. The 2005 film whilst very good for it's much shorter runtime did feel a bit too rushed & couldn't build the characters & settings fully or let the story breathe when it needed. As someone that has never typically been into period dramas, I'd recommend anyone try the BBC version.
I'm embarrassed to say that I never read Pride and Prejudice in my life (it wasn't in my HS or college curriculum). I had no interest reading it or watching the TV/movie adaptations until I saw this movie. Since I watched this movie I have watched Firth's mini-series version and the 2005 movie, as well as read the book. Needless to say, I became a fan of the original work because this relationships in this was intrigued me enough to watch/read the source work.
"you, me, and the boobies" 😂
Ahh I love this one as well.
A very enjoyable movie and certainly the only adaptation I'd watch all the way through. The BBC adaptation was certainly popular in the UK, Colin Firth (Kingsman) was many a woman's definitive Mr Darcy. He was the UK answer to the Diet Coke break!
the button popping scene is directly stolen or a homage to the same situation in the antonio banderas led 'mark of zorro' where he and i believe catherine zeta jones do the same thing, with banderas as zorro slicing her nightgown in the famous Z pattern.
Mr Movies god bless your patience. You show no signs of breaking, you're a strong man. If we worked at the same job I would have your back homie.
What is weirdly delightful about this movie is that it is basically a serious adaptation of the novel with zombies thrown in for good measure. The acting is great, it keeps the plot points mostly intact, and it uses much of the dialogue... But there's also zombies, which is completely nuts...but sort of works!! 🙃
This movie is based on a book, and the book has a sequel called Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.I don’t think that has been made into a movie(yet).
12:42 "You think this is me showing you more affection than I actually have? I sorry." You two crack me up. I do hope Mrs. Movies gave Mr. Movies something nice for Valentines Day.
Everuone should have a mrs movies that dont believe in Valentines day :). Imo its better to surprise the spouse on random days :)
5:44 "At this time, it became fashionable to study the deadly arts of the orient."
🤔 They wouldn't develop their _own_ fighting styles? I mean, look back two centuries and almost _no_ where in the world were there two civilizations in contact with each other but _every_ civilization had its own fighting styles, which they developed in response to _local_ circumstances.
I never saw any of the Pride and Prejudice movies. But I did love this one! The alternate history makes this quite fun I believe.
Sweet, this one's fun😎
7:41- I don't remember AEthelflaed being in this.
I enjoyed the book far more than the movie. The book is basically Jane Austen's novel with zombies added to it.
really need to get used Matt Smith (Doctor Who) being other characters Parson Collins
Mrs. Movies doing the robot to the same track as Techno Viking?!
Used the comcast dvr for super slo-mo on obvious scenes
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
38:22 "It's an unmarked zombie graveyard."
It is _entirely_ too _shallow._ _Six feet,_ people! _Six feet!_ Six feet and in a _box,_ and if you haven't time for that, then sever their _arms._
I think the original _Pride and Prejudice_ movie is the 1940 one.
That one guy (Mr. Bingley?) Is soooo unbelievably gorgeous 🤗
Definitely watch Cinderella. Kenneth Branagh does a beautiful job of directing.
How could the existence of an extra thing that doesn't remove the original thing from existence "ruin it"? Make it make sense...
This started the trend of classic literature/horror mashups. Other books include, Sense & Sensibility & Sea Monsters, Android Karinina, Jane Slayre and Little Women & Werewolves (which is not that out of character for Louisa May Alcott).
Well, im reminded of tthe Shakespeare writing of The Star Wars.
Great reaction my fave is 2005 with Korea knightly
Lady Catherine was a minx.
You should try "Bride and Prejudice" which is a Bollywood style adaptation and great fun with some really good musical numbers
I keep hoping they'll adapt "Sense and Sensibilities and Sea Monsters", but........
19:54 "Oh, _fuddle!"_
😟 My goodness! An _f_ word! Watch thy _language,_ good sir. 🤔Or, perhaps, _admire_ thy language.
that's a nice jacket on the mrs
Such a great movie and the wit, humor and action makes it even better. You really should react to “Abraham Lincoln-Vampire Hunter”, just as good and entertaining.
Like you I am a big fan of Jane Austin and I loved this movie and theor adaption to Austin's classic
They have to eat suckers??? What are these suckers? Like vitamin suckers or teeth cleaning suckers?
Probably have xylitol. Helps you produce saliva to clean your teeth and keep a good ph balance so any acidity doesn't set in to form cavities.
I❤ This Zombie Version, Of This Novella To Movie Adaption!
Now you must watch Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter for Presidents’ Day!!
I could never hack it in Regency England.
I read both Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters when they came out. Really enjoyed both of them but I don't know if I could read the originals. I wish they would give S.S.S. the movie treatment.
That's weird that they moved Lizzie staying with Charlotte to before Charlotte's marriage.
Spoiler: One thing missing from the book that I was dying to see in this adaptation and was missing was the cauliflower garden at Lady Catherine's estate that was planted to delay the undead that would wander in and start eating the vegetables because they looked like brains.
Love it. I'm weird.
Well, the Mister must feel he gets sufficient affection shown (but insufficient Valentine's candy).
Oh no you turned it off before the final scene 😮
I was stoked when I first heard about this movie, but it wasn't as sharp or spot on a parody as I had hoped, so I was a little disappointed. However, it is a fun movie i its on right, and I would like for more people to see it.
Valentines Day...........because the other 364 days of the year just...don't...matter. 😒
33:17 "They're _undressing_ each other, now."
Yes. I seem to recall seeing _another_ scene like this in a movie, once. It was the most unusual foreplay I had ever seen. What movie was that, now? 🤔 Oh, yes. _The Mask of Zorro_ from 1998.
Tech difficulties! 😊🤗♥️🥰😸 Many hugs!
Yeah, don't undervalue us, Mrs. We are pretty cool.
Jane Austen wrote a lot of books about love and marriage yet she never got married that's like me writing a book about how it feels to be in space even though I've never left the atmosphere, she's definitely a good advisor for women 👍
She based on others experience.
Please react to Inception by Christopher Nolan. You will not be disappointed!
This is my favorite Pride and Prejudice adaptation, yess!
Why does no one check the after credits
Lazarus was brought back from the dead by Jesus in the Bible. Good name for a church for zombies!!
I don't think people in middle east got lazarus name
I still like Helen Keller Vs Nightwolves better.😁
Please watch Malignant
🖖
The tone was all wrong for me. They should have played it deadly straight.
gorgeous
😍👍
I bought this movie on a whim in the like $5 bin at Walmart or on a Black Friday bluray deal or something years ago, I always ended up trying to watch it later at night after I did all my other stuff for the day and so I kept falling asleep, I think it was the 4th or 5th watch before I finally watched it all the way through without falling asleep and thats saying a lot considering how good corsets make boobs look.
You, Me & The Movies: Why do the two of you continue to watch / react to silly and trivial movies?
These (cynical, I hope not?) choices on your part are obviously not worth the waste of both your time and intelligence, and considering where when and how you could both present a CZcams "MOVIE REACTION" from the treasure trove of classic first rate movies from over the last ninety years, at least, that would do quite right by your viewers here.
Please do shape up and get your act together, it's only 2024, and have you sensed, it's with another Fascist dawn possibly fast approaching, ala 1933- 1934.
i won't pay you , but can you react to plan 9 from outer space ? it's the worst movie ever made and it's still better than this ....
