“Get in loser, we’re going to the beach that makes you old.”
Mean Girls, but they age like they are on the Old beach. 😂😂😂
"Jamie, pull up the directions to the beach that makes you old."
“If she walked into the emergency room I’d say she’s about 5 months pregnant”
Mr: “What if she didn’t walk into the emergency room how pregnant would she be” 😂😂😂
There has to be a "...walked into a bar.." joke in there somewhere :-)
Pregnant woman walks into a bar. "I need a doctor with steady hands!" 😷
Interesting concept but makes no sense because if 30 minutes passing was 1 year as mentioned in the movie then unless they were constantly drinking water they would all have died of thirst inside 30 seconds which would equate to about 6 days
Because time isnt passing any faster, its just their bodies aging quickly
"His junk grew" 😂
I’m still not over them naming that man Mid Size Sedan😭
I'M 69...70 IN DEC. GETTING OLD IS FINE, IF YOU HAVE YOUR HEALTH, CAN WALK, DRIVE, AND ENJOY RETIREMENT...THEN IT'S GREAT!!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
My grandpa is 92. Still has his wits, still lives in his house and drives regularly. I’m really hoping those genes are strong and got passed down to me 😂
@@Darth-Lesbian My nan lived to be nearly 92, and she was a wee pack of dynamite 'til the end! Sharp as ever!
Taking good care of your body when you're young is key to living your life to the fullest when you're old!
My nan did none of that, and smoked like a chimney all her life, but some people are just built to last!
“The dog has died!”
“But he was just alive” 😂
😂😂😂 that was hilarious. Same as the ‘if she walked into the delivery room, she’d be 5 months’….. Mr: so how long would she be if she didn’t walk into the delivery 🤣🤣🤣🤣
When they said lack of attention, just think how much direct attention a newborn needs. Food, cleaning, sleep, warmth, ....all of the things a newborn needs in the first few weeks and months even, were literally not received in this case within the first minute. It's health was severely impacted before they even realized it. If 30 minutes was the same as a year, then not feeding the baby in that first minute, was the equivalent of not feeding a newborn for 12 days! An adult body can withstand much more, but that's also why the kids were so hungry as well. M. Night is always presenting us with such unique stories.
@@wickamo This. They meant "lack of attention" in the sense that a newborn baby needs a lot of care. Feeding, changing, burping, even Human contact and loving. With the accelerated metabolism, a newborn would probably need to feed almost constantly.
“The dog has died!”
“Well he was only just alive!”
I swear M Night has never heard people speak to each other in real life 😂
This movie is THE BEST example of "That's not how humans speak!" There are many examples throughout.
I used to hink like that, but movies aren't a documentary. People in Sorkin movies don't speak like real life, people in Lathimos' movies don't speak like real life. Shyamalan does his own thing. Sometimes we like it, sometimes we don't, but at least he has a clear style.
..yeah The Lobster and TKOASD are like that. It's just so interesting to see that it's not the actors; it's a clear director's choice.
Yeah, the dialogue in this movie is horribly written, and all the bad acting really makes it stand out. Even the handful of legit talented actors in the cast that I've liked in other movies are just phoning it in.
@@mrpickmanb exactly, M Night been doing this intentionally for over twenty years, and in countless interviews he's said that he's bored of writing regular dialogue that doesn't make you laugh or afraid, but people still think it's unintentional))
This ones unpopular but I really liked it
Me too. I enjoy it.
I enjoyed it too
I just turned 40 as well…. And now I’m 44. Time goes much faster after 40
😂 I am 42, but turned 40 like 2 days ago. Seriously!
I 100% think the "bad acting" can be attributed to the director. I know most of those actors and they're fantastic in other movies - I have a feeling that Shyamalan (for whatever reason) wanted them to read their dialogue with this particular cadence and it makes the whole thing kinda awkward to watch. Plus they all read their lines in a very similar way.
And I don't mean to say that Shyamalan's directing is bad, moreso that he had a vision for this movie, and for whatever reason this type of acting was a part of it. It didn't turn out good, but I don't think it's the actors that are to blame.
The way they talked reminded me of a lot of the characters in Heavy Rain. Like a French Canadian accent.
If it’s a M. Night Shyamalan film, then you know a plot twist is coming
And a bad ending with overexplanations...
Yeah hands down this was not one of his best movies.
..unless thé No-twist...twist?
He should just make a movie with no twist. Just a straight ending. That would mess with people.
Yeah this wasn't even a movie, it was simply a twist. Reminds me of that South Park episode imaginationland
I think it's Adorable how Mrs. M will lay down a line of profanity that will make a sailor blush, but occasionally she will pull out something like "Crazy Pants " 41:30
OLD is based on a graphic novel called Sandcastle. M. Night Shyamalan followed the graphic novel pretty well but he got permission from the writer and artist of the graphic novel to change the ending.
Babies who are not held, nuzzled, and hugged enough can stop growing and if the situation lasts long enough, they even die. Researchers discovered this when trying to figure out why orphanages were having high infant mortality rates (30-40%).
from not being hugged??? Come on 🤣🤣
Try looking into things before dismissing them @@sugarbomb1346
@@sugarbomb1346It really does happen. My grandmother was in a concentration womens camp in Indonesia in WW2 and saw it happen to babies that were kept in their crib. They were fed and diaper changed, but that was all and the babies died. They need stimuli, skin to skin contact etc.
@@sugarbomb1346it’s a real thing, my guy. Newborn babies need it.
@@sugarbomb1346lol imagine laughing at someone when you yourself are ignorant of a very well known fact- babies of almost every animal kind, but specifically human, do indeed die if not held, hugged and soothed. It's why skin on skin contact is one of the first things they do when a baby is born, it regulates breathing and the heart rate. But continue being rude and laughing at people 🙄
Life is a beach and then you die 🌊
That beach was a real tourist trap.

An underrated M Night Shyamalan movie (and my personal favourite) is The Village. It's scary but it's also a love story so Mrs Movies might like it too!
Omg The Village is one of his best! It frustrates me so much how much people shat on it and tarnished its reputation. I absolutely love it.
Absolutely one of the best plot twist ever! Not enough people have seen it! Nice sugestion!

The ripped blonde girl giving out drinks at the beginning is Clint Eastwood's daughter.
Francesca Eastwood
Such an interesting concept to consider. What they failed to consider though, is that they would die of malnutrition and thirst since they can't replenish what is being processed. Which brings us to the other problem.... they would be constantly peeing and 💩
Because time isnt passing any faster, its just their bodies aging quickly
I think the scientists could've found some middle ground that would be more ethical. Tell the people that there's a trial which is dangerous but could help cure their disease for others. Don't bring any kids. Give financial relief to their families left behind. I'm sure they would get some volunteers, and the way they are doing it now is still risky because they have to try and trick the patients into it.
My EXACT thoughts when I saw it. No need to have them in fear, or trying to escape... Instead it could take a dozen people with the same disease that fail before getting anything useful.
Experimenting on humans who you know will not return home alive is not ethical at all.
@@gatobuho-as long as they also know they won't return, it's fine. You'd be amazed at how many terminal people are willing to risk their life for a possible cure for others. Most just never even have the opportunity
I have read the comic this is based on and it was very weird, Night did good replicating that weird vibe. He must have taken this adaptation as a challenge, just like Knock.
PS. When Gael Garcia was about to die, his smile was the exact smile on my grandma's face when she was on her deathbed. So for me, best acting in this movie belongs to him.
All of the medications actually worked. They only got the medication through the drinks given at the resort. So once they had been on the island, it had been years since their last dose. The medications all worked to slow their illnesses.
his script n his shots are his style, movies are essentially a fantasy world not to be overly examined of course depends on the director but m night is forever creative n I love it
Schamalam is also my favorite director (even though a couple of his films are hard to love :D ) and it's nice that you got to see Vicky Krieps (main actress) who is from my homecountry Luxembourg
MR MOVIES IS 40?!
Looking good man!
What is really unfair is to kill all members of a family group, just to test on one of them.
Like why the kids, why the mother of the doctor, and so on...
Bonus genetic vector sample group I guess. It's not like real life mad scientists or doctors haven't done the same many times.
I've seen a lot of people didn't like this one, but I love ir hehe 🤷🏾♀️💜
It's a mid level film from M Night Schmalohan. His best being Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. His worst being all the ones with Bryce Dallas Howard in them
@mcentepede or out of breath Marky mark
42:55 that's actually why we need antioxidants as we get older. while it's not metal rust it's a similar reaction happening in our bodies.
The messages of his movies be SO SO lost!! It's... Heartbreaking.😢
OLD... Old never changes.
But old people do, through the roads they walk.
Fallout: Old Vegas
I don't like how he made a comic about how you can't escape aging and the fear of it into something supernatural..
You're pretty handy with that fly swatter, Mr Movies.
1:52 Dude... 👏👏👏
If you are interested, this movie is based in a comic called Sandcastle (Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters)
I think when they said “attention” that they meant “negligence” given the time that passed in that minute. But it was basically starvation
I think y'all watched "Dark City" before. That might be where you recognize Russell Sewell from. {The doctor with dementia.}
He was in the miniseries John Adams as Hamilton and he was also in Man from high Castle as the highest ranking American ranking American official in the Northeast.
Wait he was on that movie?
@@BRIANOCONNOR2003 Wasn't he? The one with the superpowers? I'm not always good at getting actors right!

I hope you guys watch the third and final chapter on the X trilogy since you did the other two I think the DVD will be out this fall it's just been released on digital. It's such a good time and the perfect way to end the story. Probably one of the best trilogy's in recent memory
Finally someone who likes the X trilogy as much as me lol def some of the best movies I’ve seen in years. Very original
I like it. Not my favorite from M. S. but it was ok to good. The actors were a bit weak but the concept was good.
Dig your guys vibe. Luv your reactions
the most unrealistic part of this movie is how their hair and nails does not grow even an inch wtf, the concept of this movie is so cool but the movie itself its pretty...questionable lol
If you wanted realism they all would've been dead within the first 10 minutes of not eating or drinking anything. 30 minutes = 1 year and the only ones we ever see eat anything are the kids
Because time isnt passing any faster, its just their bodies agin quickly
@@sugarbomb1346 fair, still not great execution
The sand is of course also accelerated. So the nails get worn down as nature intended.
Some of the sand could of course also be the full body weight of dust falling off every 7 years. Or every hour then.
Either way, I think asthma would be one of the more common ailments on this beach.
So the hair and fingernails dont grow at all as they age ??
"MILES KNOWS ISLANDS!!". HILARIOUS
If it could save possibly millions of people, I would definitely sacrifice myself.
That final scene with the parents and the kids is at least heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.
Since you're a fan of Signs; there's a really fun video theory on YT about Signs, The Happening, and After Earth all being part of a trilogy. In Signs, the drones were sent to test a new bioweapon. That's why they were allergic to water. It was like a built in cyanide cap. Then in The Happening, there is a shot at the beginning, and a shot at the end, of the clouds right before stuff goes down. The Aliens returned and are hiding in the clouds while releasing the bioweapon on a larger scale. The humans think the plants evolved to kill humans, so they leave in before After Earth. It makes sense, and makes the Happening slightly better lol.
Another classic from M Night Shalambadams
I've got six years before I get the senior discount at goodwill
Based on a french graphic novel.
I really like this film. It's underappreciated like most of M. Night's films.
"Their Brains haven't AGED" ... probably the best pun of the review by Mr Kaiju Cowboy (Movies)
which makes no sense because their brains have aged. The kids are constantly talking about how much different their thoughts are, how much more vivid they are, new feelings etc.
I liked this movie. That woman breaking her arms and legs in the cave was terrifying! I agree, the acting wasn't that good. Also, they kinda missed the idea that they all would have starved to death pretty quickly.
"Their Brains Don't AGE".
Just an FYI, my 13 year old states that you aren’t old until you’re 50. I’m 42 and she counts down the years. lol

PLEASE show her "unedited footage of a bear" from adult swim. that reaction would be bonkers😂
When I was a little kid, you only needed to dial three or four digits on the phone to call someone. I loved to play with the rotary dial. People would answer the phone and I would say "Hi here, I'm (Johnny Smith)..." My mother then ran to explain to whoever I had called. Small town MN, under 1,000 people. Everyone knew me! LOL
I have a habit of missing your live streams, so I'm going to plug an Audible book here that I think you will really enjoy, in the post-apocalyptic genre, that I know you enjoy: "Odd Billy Todd" - a bit heavy on the gun technicalities for me, but a darn good Listen! Watch " In the Tall Grass" 💡👍
Great reaction. Wifey is stressed out lol. Please check out the movies "The Visit" and Flowers in the Attic (1987). You will not be disappointed.
As for home related injuries it would be my mom with the ladder. No matter how many times my dad and I tell her she stands on the very top step and refuses to accept that she could accidentally fall one of these days. Once I even caught her stacking a smaller ladder on top of the big ladder to reach something 🤦♀️
I am genuinely amazed she’s managed to survive all these years.
For me, this one is like The Village. Interesting concept but dubious execution. Shyamalan oscillates between great or stinker with nothing in between. IMO his best movie is Unbreakable.
I can see your point, difference to me is:
- The Village started off with an extremely interesting, fairly unique concept, ultimately wasting it with bland storyline and plot-twist
- This one wasted the entire tension with a terribly uneven execution, ending up being so trash and unwillingly funny that it really was sad to look at it (also, who thought it was a good idea to call a character "Mid-Size Sedan"?)
@@kronk2.094M Night Schmalohan hasn't made a decent film since I was a kid. Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. Bruce Willis is in four of his movies if you can believe that
7:49 😂😂😂
I was expecting aliens to appear since this film is directed by M. Night Shyamalan, he always have some alien plots in his movies but the true enemy in "Old" is time. No one can never outrun time. We humans live by the seconds...minutes...hours...days...weeks...months...years...and then life after death.
Midsize sedan “DAMN” 😂
happy 40th birthday
Y’know what film you’d guys would like “Charade”, known as “the best Hitchcock film Hitchcock never made”, it stars Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. A woman (played by Hepburn) finds out that her husband was murdered for some unknown reason and Cary Grant’s character teams up with her to help her investigate why her husband was killed and who killed him. It’s full of twists, incredibly shocking, 20/10 recommend!
"And if you really wanna creep them out.."
Confirmed by "Attack on Titan" 😬
Interesting movie with an interesting concept and an interesting message.
Do the means justify the ends? Is finding cures for all of these diseases worth kidnapping and killing people? Is it any different than using animals as test subjects?
This movie is fantastic! I hope y'all enjoy.
yep this is a creepy and weird movie, but damn interesting idea!
my brother and his husband told me I HAD to watch this movie because it was so disturbing and when I finally got around to it I remember feeling like they were playing a prank on me
Mrs. Movies looks good for 64 years old, and can't believe she got herself such a demure, cutesy young man like Mr. Movies.
so this is the origin movie of the zodiac killer :O
How appropriate that we saw this movie in theaters on my 44th birthday.
If only the son worked out the Asian kids puzzle earlier could have saved most of them
Either die slowly from your affliction or die sooner due to accelerated aging. The point is to not die sooner
I enjoyed this far more than most people did...
The sequel to Old is Batteries Not Included and Cocoon.
Mrs. sums up my feelings on this movie perfectly. "What the fuck?!"
A fantastic British movie worth watching is Severance (2006) Dark Comedy Horror.

2:55 Most people have work communication through their phones……
This movie was based on a graphic called Sandcastle which, if i recall correctly, is even more grim than the movie (i.e.: nobody escapes the beach and there's no explicit explanation for what's going on), 'cause you know, fun and joy is overrated. 😂
I was hoping you and mrs.movies would watch ninja 3 the domination 1984! Ninjas, the poltergeist... best of both worlds. Have a great weekend 😀
No. The sequel would be called ‘Older’.
nah. it'd be Dead.
here in Canada Qc ,we have a lot of travel agencies ,almost in every town we have one .
I’d already seen this movie but it was fun watching you figure it out.
In my opinion this movie has a great and interesting concept. And most of the scenarios and situtations on beach are solid. Where i think M Night messes up sometimes is adding one or two scenes were it kinda loses you or have the "oh come on" reaction. And his other issue at times is the dialogue. And agree usually about half the actors are meh.
what kind of rapper name is mid sized sedan?
One point that nobody ever questions: How does a couple raise two children to have completely different accents than either of their parents?
Awesome reaction of my favorite Horror movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊

I didn't get the hate for this one. I thought it was fine. Not great M Night, but fine. 10x better than fucking Glass
Yeah this movie sucks, but Shyamalan is very hit and miss. I assume you've seen The sixth sense and Signs but if you want a newish one that are actually good, I'd check out The Visit
When you're looking for an "old" movie to watch this is a perfect choice! *lol!*😆 This movie would be scary if there is a real place that rapidly ages anyone like that in real life. Time seems to fly by in mere minutes or less! I think M. Night Shyamalan plot of the movie is telling us to simply enjoy your life and enjoy the moments you have with the people in your life because time does fly by fast. As for the twist at the end, it didn't surprise me they were being researched, though it was surprising the only way to escape was to swim through the reef.

This was actually based on a French Comic Book. M.Night added in the Experimenters and a different ending.
Problem is from what I see, by changing the ending, he kinda made the Biologists and Scientists etc seem evil + shady when by all accounts, they're doing something good (in the long term).
The whole vibe and the whole debacle at the end could have been avoided if the Medical personnel literally told the "Holiday goers" what the plan was and sign an NDA.
PP "Made them seem kinda evil and shady." Right...🙃
Anyways. Even Big Pharma would likely be ruined long before a few hundred thousand tourists passed the super cheap luxury resort just to get those three NDA signers that happen meet the desired conditions onboard.
Despite all it's bad reviews (and the wonky dialogue, etc) I really quite enjoyed this (dumb) movie! 🙂 And none it really made sense.. but then.. what movies do? Ha! Enjoy :-)
I quit watching M. Night movies after this one. Disillusion complete.
This movie got....old fast
