      The xmax is smaller though isn't it? If the rider space was identical but only the engine smaller, I'd definitely go for an xmax instead, but I'm really tall so need every bit of space I can get my hands on.

    Why do we only get these in such dull colours now? Used to be yellow, white as options (mine was white).
    Also, when will Yamaha bring out a full power version, not just an A2 version? All that sporty suspension, slightly wasted; the power and talk will fall further behind class average when the Forza 750 comes out - important for those of us that ride with a pillion.

    Pricewise these are expensive but nobody balks at paying about double for a Gold Wing.
    Don't think of it as a large moped, rather a small Gold Wing. There's a lot of tech and engineering in a big scooter.
    I was recently at a motorcycle show and was blown back at what a liter sports bike costs. As much as a car. Nobody bitches about that tho.

    • @Watson2108
      @Watson2108 Před rokem +1

      Yeah, you just can‘t compare it with a standard motorcycle. It‘s in a class of its own.
      Just like you can‘t compare a 25k sportsbike with a car for the same price, you need to look at the 1000hp hyper cars for that😜

    • @blipco5

      @@Watson2108 Tru dat. My brother just bought a 500 T-Max. The thing is a beast. I had a drag race with him with my 250 Honda Helix and was stunned when I stayed even with him to 30+ mph. Riding the T-Max made my Helix feel like a toy by comparison.
      I own Japanese naked motorcycles in the 115 rwhp range. You need a very expensive sports car to beat them.

    • @stevebolton8471
      @stevebolton8471 Před 4 lety +2

      Er, did you mean compulsory basic training, or perhaps DCT? But you are right if you meant DCT. Probably need a big top box on the Honda but you will have plenty of money saved (because the NC750X DCT is £7800) to buy that, heated grips and a heated jacket. You wouldn't get the adjustable screen though. I'd guess you will get much better fuel consumption on the Honda, longer service intervals. 8K miles for the Honda and 6.2K miles for the scoot with a replacement of the vbelt every 12.4K miles. (I did have to replace my OEM chain and sprockets at 8K miles on my NCT, but I am hopeful the next chain will last a lot longer.). I get over 74mpg when riding theNMC750 X DCT hard and around 84mpg when riding gently. So the Honda will probably be cheaper to run too. Range at 84 mps is around 260 miles+ with reserve.

    • @karlosh9286
      @karlosh9286 Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah, I completely agree, if I wanted an auto bike, I'd have a Honda NC750X with DCT . I had a test ride of one, it was pretty good and as Steve Bolton says, a real lot cheaper. The only issue I could find with the Honda is the fuel tank could have been a bit bigger.
      Anyway, I've got a Triumph Speed Twin. Put that in second gear and apart from a little bit of clutch control it's almost like an automatic up to about 35 MPH. It can pull away in second and can get to around 35 MPH !!!

    • @Visionery1
      @Visionery1 Před 4 lety +3

      Low center of gravity, smaller tyres, no chain, CVT, lower running costs, nimble. I currently ride a PCX150, perfect around town, not so nice on the longer trips, then again I don't do more than 50kms one way and rarely ride over 100kph.. I'll wait until I can get the 2020 TMax as a demo or 2-3 year old.
