    I corinthians 11:18-34 , Also if isnt clear, let's remember the reaction from the jews within these verses from john 6:
    52. (...) "How can this man give us (his) flesh to eat?"
    60. "(...)This saying is hard; who can accept it?"
    Jesus would explain any parable to His apostles, but He was insistant, to the point of saying to them:
    61. (...) "Does this shock you? 62. What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
    He is God, He said He is the bread of life, He want to give His grace directly, but we need to be clean, repentent.
    Make too much sense after you reflect on the first letter to corinthians 11:18-34 a second time... why this respect towards a bread, said to be Body?

      Yeah, his grace is sufficient. No one argues with that. Only the Lord can choose who joins him in eternal life. But at the same time why wouldn’t you utilize the gifts given by God and the church Jesus established? So yeah your faith alone might be “enough” to get saved, but why wouldn’t you strive to live a life of good works to help not only better yourself but also please our Lord. Faith and good works are one and the same.

    Where does he say that he will turn man made bread into flesh?
    That was a while before the cross, why didn’t anyone try to eat his flesh while it was still on the earth?
    Where does it say that he’ll come to the Alter in “humble obedience” to the priest as said by John O’Brian, and approved by the church.
    Paul said that whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup you show Christ’s death until he returns. Shouldn’t Paul have said that you show Christ is here?
    Through searching the scriptures, I can’t find where any Christians believed that the bread and wine were the true flesh and blood of Christ.

This is coming from the context of the fact most of His statements were symbolic towards a spiritual reality. In this case, the bread and wine calling towards His crucifixion that would occur the following day. The eucharist would mean nothing without the reality of the crucifixion, i.e why some claim it symbolic, because symbols point towards actual realities, they are not the reality themselves.

The issue, this person didn’t read the whole chapter, when Jesus said, eat my body and drink my blood, he was saying, eat his flesh is coming to him and drink his blood is believing in him. I have one question, when Jesus said few hours before his death, this is my body ( the bread) this is my blood ( wine ) did he drink and eat his own body ? In the Jews tradition of Passover, they had to drink the wine and eat the bread, if we gonna take it literally. Jesus ate is own flesh and drink is own blood.

      @antokaknee Před měsícem

      @@MarvinAlvarez-fe4fl I see and understand your point you made because it does make logical sense when you put it that way. And yes I am also here to have a conversation.
      In regards to your first comment, I'd like to challenge you on the interpretation of John 6, because upon reading the whole thing, the Jews assumed the exact same position as you have, 'How can Jesus give us his flesh for us to eat?' And Jesus doubles down by saying "Truly, truly / Verily verily," (depending on translation) and he reiterates that, "unless you eat the flesh from the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life within you." Yes I do agree there is symbolism to this phrase since he did say in the beginning and it also connecting to the Last Supper and his Crucifixion , but then again there is so much more to it since Jesus does not back from his own claim and even turns to his Apostles saying, "Will you not leave too?" even when many of his disciples left upon their assumption of him literally eating his flesh.
      Thats the thing of why I believe the Eucharist is the literal Presence of Jesus, because for 1, he said so himself, and two he doubles down on this claim and challenges his followers if they will leave too like the many Jews that departed him from that day assuming that he gives his literal flesh and blood. Thats my overall quick take on this chapter which is what I am challenging you on.

    • @antokaknee
      @antokaknee Před měsícem

      @@MarvinAlvarez-fe4fl In regards to your second reply, I'd like to first start off by saying nothing is impossible with God so theologically speaking it can be, but I understand this is treading the line of Modalism and heresy I do realize that and people of the past have vastly discussed this too, please look at the Vatican 2 discussion where they did discuss the Eucharist topic in heavy debate as well, if you are willing to.
      Anyways, the Catholic Church teaches that the Eucharist is the 'presence' of God (who is both human and divine), this is where the well known term transubstantiation is used, because yes in mass they use the wafer and wine, while the material may be the same, the essence of it changes into the presence of God for us to eat and drink. Saint Thomas Aquinas, does a much better job of explaining this so please look it up if you are ever so willing.
      I do understand your standpoint and I am not here to invalidate it because I did have that standpoint for when discerning my faith, I am merely here to challenge you in your understanding and see if it stands up, biblically, historically, and spiritually. Of course take all my words with a grain of salt since I am a sinner just like you and bound to make mistake.
