    I did a silly thing to my e36 1997 bmw. I cut the wires that go to the check control to try and put a tach gauge on. I replaced fuses and relays and the cluster board. The problem is that my gas gauge, water temp and rpm don't work. Im wondering what else i could have short circuited, without trying to re-wire? Like that blue relay fuse? etc =)

    Hi, I got a 2001 740i that has a bad body module.. basically the windows don't work, AC blows warm air and I believe the locking system doesn't work. Can you tell me where this main body module is located? It's probably behind the glove box or right front door? Everything was working ok until all of a sudden it's stopped working. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

      Have you checked your relay for the blinkers? I had that bad and one light would stay on even after taking out the key. There are many videos on checking if a relay is good or bad, which I recommend before buying a new relay.

    • @valdesadam

      Check the motor in the antenna and if its connected to the radio correctly. Usually there is a wire to the radio that gives it power when you turn the ignition and radio on.

    I have a 325i with automatic transmission, and I got an issue with the interlock on the gear selector not releasing when I press the brakes. My car stays locked in park or neutral when it's on but I can select any other gear when I have the engine off. Would anyone have an idea if this is a relay issue, short circuit, or a low brake pressure? Brakes feel fine even when I over stick a blade in the interlock's way.

    • @bimmermerchant
      @bimmermerchant  Před 8 lety

      +adam valdes Two issues you might have. first, your gear selector might be faulty and need replacing. Not a hard process. Second, the cable that comes from the shifter selector and connects to the side of the steering column might need replacing. Seems to be a mechanical issue rather than an electrical one.

    • @valdesadam
      @valdesadam Před 8 lety

      +bimmermerchant I change the whole shifter unit and it does the same thing. I'll check out the steering column. Thank you for the help.

    • @elyalfante
      @elyalfante Před rokem

      This interlock in your shifter is connected to your brake, it will release when you step the brake, check your brake wiring in the switch maybe its disconnected or brake switch is not working

    • @valdesadam
      @valdesadam Před rokem

      @Ely Alfante thanks for the response. The car has been totaled after getting rear-ended by a truck on my way to work. I did eventually change the brake switch, but I can't remember if that solved the issue. I am sure that was the issue since it was the only thing that had wear and seems to break on these cars.
